I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how certain ideological lines in this country seem to be getting deeper, not shallower. It’s almost like there’s a certain segment of the population that is completely immune to any kind of outside pressure or criticism.

I remember back in college, I had this one friend who would get into these massive debates with everyone. No matter what evidence or logic you threw at them, they’d just circle back to the exact same core conviction. It wasn't even about being "right" anymore; it was about identity. Once a belief becomes part of who you are, questioning that belief feels like a personal attack.

It feels like we're seeing this on a massive scale now. You see these huge, controversial headlines every single day, and yet, when you look at the actual support levels for certain institutions or movements, they don't even flinch. It’s like the more noise the media makes, the more people just dig their heels in.

Is it just a psychological defense mechanism, or are we looking at a fundamental shift in how people process information? Does anyone else feel like traditional "persuasion" has basically become obsolete?

Look, I listen to all kinds of stuff, but that trashy, bottom-of-the-barrel pop garbage? No way... I never have and I never will. I can't stomach that pathetic, backward excuse for "music" people try to pass off as art...

I can handle anything else, man... house, rock, punk, even jazz... but this absolute sludge with its fake whining? Not happening.😉

Honestly, you could drown me in enough bourbon to kill a horse and I still wouldn't be able to sit through it.👎 👎

Alright kid, take a seat. Reading your comments, it’s pretty obvious you haven't even hit double digits yet.
And don't start lecturing me about alcohol when your idea of a wild night is a Shirley Temple.

Now that things are finally cooling off a bit, you see everyone crawling back to that old-school country sound... nothing really new under the sun, is there?...
That’s just how I see it, anyway...

Nice one, man. You hit the nail right on the head.👍

Half of you guys act like you're too cool for country music in public, but then you're blasting it at home when nobody's watching.

Like the song says:
The ones who claim they hate it most
are the ones who know every single lyric
because they’re the first ones out there
grabbing a drink and singing along once the party starts... I don't get it...😁

But honestly? It's just the best music for letting loose.
I mean, what's a wedding without some country tunes? Without it, it's basically a funeral.
