Max is losing ground big time because of those tires. How much longer is he going to stay out on this set?

Sainz tried to make his move at the corner, but you simply can't pull that off unless your tires are up to temperature and providing serious grip—which he definitely didn't have at that moment.

I'd put my money on Leclerc taking the win. As long as his start isn't a disaster, I think he's got it in the bag...
Ferrari looks incredibly strong in the final sector. Everywhere else, Red Bull Racing is right on their heels, but they don't seem to have the edge.
The only real wildcard for Ferrari might be the bouncing issue. Christian Horner mentioned it could be a factor, and while it doesn't hurt them much over a single lap, they might find themselves at a disadvantage once the race settles in over the full distance.

Speaking to Sky after the race, Norris mentioned the track layout actually suits their setup quite well.

P.S. Way to go, Charles Leclerc! He’s been incredible this season; he handles the pressure so well...
Unfortunately, it looks like Sainz is losing some confidence, though he should hopefully make up ground during qualifying tomorrow.
Still, seeing one Ferrari against two Red Bulls just isn't ideal.
Wait, doesn't Max have a new front wing too? I didn't catch it during the broadcast, but looking at the replays now, he's sporting a new one as well. I'm not sure if he ditched it during Q3.
Max Verstappen is having a tough time finding the right balance with his car during qualifying. For some reason, Sergio Perez seems to be getting much more out of his setup.
Did I hear that correctly? One of the DRS zones has been scrapped?
George Russell is saying it's gone because someone filed a complaint. I wonder what Lewis thinks about all this... or if anyone else does.

Stoner handed Leclerc the tire he needed for his pole lap.🙏
Leclerc is telling Herbert that they weren't actually expecting such a strong qualifying performance.
Sainz needs to find some consistency, otherwise he’s going to end up as nothing more than a wingman for Leclerc pretty quickly.

Oh, I see. That makes more sense.

Karun Chandhok mentioned he couldn't even reach the downshift paddle. 😁
If he had stayed in a higher gear and dove deep into the corner, things might have gone differently.
It wasn't just bouncing; Sanz's car was practically hopping all over the track during the Second Qualifying Session. 😁
Good grief, how am I supposed to drive a car like that?

Gilles, there is so much chaos during this formation lap. Everyone is fighting tooth and nail just to secure their position. 🙏
I honestly don't care for the track layout anymore. It used to be tougher to drive, which actually made for better racing, but now it’s become too easy, making it way too simple for cars to just follow each other around.
A mechanic hands Sebastian Vettel a seat just to get it out of the way. Vettel helps out anyway—he really is a class act. 🙏

Honestly, I think it’s both of them. Maybe Lance Stroll first, simply because the driver out front needs to check their mirror before changing lanes.
Nicholas Latifi really made a mess of things here with that confusing line. He should have just let him pass (they were actually inches away from touching 🤣) instead of trying to reclaim the spot 200 meters down the track. 😁
The Mercedes-Benz looks pretty difficult to handle today.
Lewis Hamilton really struggled through this lap; there’s constant understeer, and you get the feeling the car is just going to jerk right out of his hands at any moment.

For qualifying, I’m picturing Charles Leclerc taking P1 and Carlos Sainz Jr. in P2, but expect the race to flip those results.
If they actually focused on developing the car for Sebastian instead, the American team would probably have a much better machine. But let's be honest—Sebastian gets paid a massive salary, so he just keeps his head down and drives.
Taking a look at today's practice sessions, with my eyes specifically on Ferrari and Red Bull Racing. Definitely worth a read if you have a moment.
