I wouldn't mind if Ahmed Mohamed handed the trophy over to Kimi himself... what an incredible honor. Just imagine being in his shoes when he hands it to you. 🙏
Huge congrats to Seb and those two guys over at Lotus; their strategy was absolutely spot on.
Perez👍.
As for Rosberg, what can I say? He fought hard, but his race pace just wasn't there once the initial battles settled down.
Ham went from 9th to 5th, while he dropped from 1st to 9th.
Well, this little Mario DiResta girl is putting up a bit of a fight, but she really needs to close off her inner side...

Romain Grosjean is struggling with mid-tier tires. I don't see him catching up to Mario DiResta easily, and even if he does manage to overtake, those tires are going to give him a hard time in the final laps.
DiResta definitely has the upper hand here.

Word is the temp is dropping, so we might see something even more manageable around 48 C by the end of the race.
I just fired up the grill; there's no way I can sit through another performance of the Greatest Show on Earth on an empty stomach.
Come on, Romain... it would be great to see someone from the back of the pack standing on that podium.
Can someone please get Fernando off the track? Honestly, what is this, a seven-stop race?

WTF is happening?🙂

It’s simple. If Fernando Alonso isn't going to make the podium, then neither is Felipe Massa.
That's the reason right there.😁.

Maestro. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Why aren't you out on your bike then? You might end up with a blown tire just like Massa.😁

🤣

And yeah, he definitely overreacted a bit. Perez was right there next to him, but he didn't give him an inch of breathing room.
DiResta... just like always, he wouldn't defend his driver for anything; he just let him sail right through.
Walter Cox6 said:Jergović confidently asserted that Lotus/Kimi would absolutely dominate qualifying, with Alonso following right behind. Vettel was expected to be "somewhere in the mix," while The Bear needed to prove those first three races were nothing more than a fluke. 😂

Sebastian Vettel takes the win, Fernando Alonso takes second, and Lewis Hamilton will climb up the ranks. It's a damn shame about that disaster during the final practice session.

Everything pointed in that direction, so I don't think Jerga was off base here.
Kimi's pace during the practice sessions looked genuinely impressive, and that was true on both tire compounds.
Even the crew over at Lotus seems unsure about why there's such a massive drop-off in performance...

Otherwise, RB wouldn't stand a chance if Alonso hadn't completely botched qualifying. There's no way they stay ahead of Vettel on track once those worn tires kick in and we factor in those 3 extra laps...
That said, RB has a solid shot if they can just hold off Ferraria at the launch...
Ideally, they'd jump Rosberg at the start and slot right in between him and Alonso... though that’s a massive ask given how insane Ferrari's start looks.😢

Though Massa could easily snatch P1 after the pit stops😳
I'm dying to see how Ferrari handles this. Will Massa just hand the position over to Alonso like a good boy?

If Fernando ends up ahead of Seb after the first lap, you can pretty much forget about winning on those tires. Fernando will likely drive a bit more conservatively, which would just slow Seb down and reset the whole race dynamic.
Plus, Alonso gets the clean side of the grid, and considering how dusty the track environment is, that could really impact the start.
It’s entirely possible that Seb finds himself behind Massa right after the first corner, and if that happens, any hope for a win is basically gone. 😁
Honestly, the foundation should be solid... regardless of what people are complaining about regarding that final lap in Q3, they're wrong. It won't hurt us.
Everything is trending in the right direction.
Alonso is going to be incredibly strong in Spain and Monaco anyway; he just needs to stay consistent.
It’s such a shame for Massa... he’s got a solid strategy, and there are F1 cars right behind him, but none of that matters if they end up screwing him over at the one-third mark of the race with a pit stop that's either way too early or way too late.
Wait, are you telling me both of Alonso's laps in Q3 were actually on used tires?
stormybadger8 said:I’m dying to know what Ferrari is thinking, keeping Massa behind Alonso.🤣
They basically sent him out on full wets for that second stint.😬

Otherwise, the maestro completely blew his podium chances with that "masterful" lap in Q3.🙏
He's the only one starting on Q2 tires that have already done six laps (two flying, two in, two out), and besides that, he's only got two fresh sets of hard tires left...😁
One set of mediums was absolutely shredded in Q3.😁Though I'm not entirely sure if there's one more fresh set tucked away somewhere.🤷

On the flip side, Massa looks dangerous. He's either starting on Hards or he's got fresh sets of both Hards and mediums ready to go.😳

And then there's Vettelko 3 with three new sets of Hards and two sets of mediums that's only seen a single flying lap.🙂

Rosberg is going to cook his tires regardless, so we're looking at a podium battle of Vettel vs Massa vs Webber... even though both Force India cars look incredibly sharp.👍

Steffano is just going to tell Charlie to hand out a penalty for holding Hulko, and then the whole thing will be settled.
Question for Rosberg: Are you surprised by the pole position?
Not really... I mean, the guy was running a second and a half faster than his own personal best during FP3.
In every single qualifying session, he was consistently finding half a second more.
