Like I said... this whole disappearing photo thing has been happening for years.

We saw similar stuff blowing up in 2017 and 2018 too—around 360 photos just vanishing into thin air.

That’s an old issue. I checked the first spot and the whole street isn't even there. Plus, if the images aren't loading for you, they aren't loading for anyone else.. 😁
Google has way too many assets, and it feels like they lose stuff every time they roll out a new feature. If you click the little guy icon—without actually dragging him onto the road—all the streets or houses where Street View is available will turn gray. On these ones? Yeah, they're dead.

I was just looking at some mechanical engineering stuff over in Washington, D.C. I was showing a friend some new buildings recently, and on one stretch of the road, everything looked fine, but on another part, it was just ancient shots with no buildings at all. The craziest part was when you tried navigating that specific street via Street View; right at the transition between the old and new sections, you'd try to zoom into a building 😁 I kept trying it over and over until I realized it wasn't just me... turns out those shots don't even exist. They totally botched it.
These debates feel a bit childish to me. Look, I get that he should be more resourceful, but you guys didn't even give him a chance to ask. Maybe he’s actually stuck. Sometimes even Google won't save you if you're searching for the wrong solution. Knowing how to Google stuff is a legit skill. 😁

3. select " None" if you want those notifications to stop bugging you
Just a heads up—you can only toggle this for yourself. That means your friends will still see those old memories featuring you.
The issue boils down to mismatched drive formats. When you move files over, you risk losing metadata—basically those extra file properties the USB doesn't recognize. If that data is deal-breaker stuff for you, you could always reformat the thumb drive to NTFS, but honestly, nobody really does that. It’s overkill and can mess with your transfer speeds and the drive's lifespan. One thing that might vanish? File permissions.
Bottom line: you aren't going to lose your actual work (nothing you typed into Word is disappearing), and the files themselves will still open just fine.
