That tour is way too light on his recent stuff for my taste. He’s only playing about five out of fifteen tracks from YA and STS. It feels like he’s always overcompensating by pushing that Ziggy/Aladdin era way too hard live.
When pigs fly.
This is it. My first encounter with Bowie happened back in '92. I think it was during a Saturday lunch at my uncle's place out in the meadows. I can still recall that distinct smell—that unmistakable stench of sewage typical of the old neighborhood. My uncle, half a meter of snow on the ground, and a clear TDK cassette labeled "Various."
I would give up an entire year of my life just to relive those five minutes of that afternoon.
Everyone has that one specific moment—that first spark—that sets them on the path to discovering the hidden treasures out there. 😁
My first pick is, for some reason, this one:
David Bowie - Thursday'S ChildWhy that specific one? No clue. It was floating around back in the early 2000s—it actually dropped right around then, maybe late '99. It was either buried in my MP3 collection or tucked away in some Bowie compilations.
It’s stuck in my head. It just won't let go. First it was the Bowie best-of, then one album, then another, then a second, a third, a fifth, a tenth... I can't stop. 😁 🙂
Opening the third eye on something like this. 😁
David Bowie - WarsawConstant listening. Falling back into that stylized abyss of Eastern Bloc mysticism and adolescence. 😁
The Cinematic Orchestra - The Awakening of a Woman ( Burnout )
