Mistaken wire transfer/payment error in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
dustyowl29 said:So, I used my JPMorgan Chase Maestro card to grab something for $433, walked out to my car, opened the box, and realized—thanks to a total blunder by the cashier—it wasn't what I actually ordered.
I headed back inside, and they voided the transaction right there at the register. I got the notification on my mobile banking app about the reversal, but the money hasn't actually shown up in my balance yet—not nearly as fast as it vanished when I first bought it. They’re using a Citigroup account while I’m on JPMorgan Chase, so how long does it usually take for a refund like this to actually land and show up in my online banking?

Was it a single charge or an installment plan?

edit: Just saw you said it was a one-time thing. Honestly, I think it’ll take a few days for sure, maybe even a full week. It never hits the account immediately... at least not in my experience.

Gary Reed9 said:Look, if the phone call covers the number, the model, and all the specifics clearly, there shouldn't be much of an issue—but honestly, why risk it? Just forward him the PDF confirmation via email. It’s better to have that paper trail sitting in his inbox just in case things get messy later.

The part number, the model, the description—it's all solid. My only screw-up was leaving my name out of that specific field because I totally blanked on adding it... 😵
The guy doesn't even have an email address or anything. Unless they can run some kind of check through Verizon, I might have to head over there tomorrow and sort it out in person.

So some guy showed up at my place because he missed his Verizon bill and wanted me to Zelle him the cash so it would clear instantly... but then he goes and leaves his own damn name on the payment memo instead of putting the actual account holder's info in the "who this is for" field.

Is this gonna be an issue? I can't exactly kill the transaction once it's sent, especially since the recipient is just the carrier's billing account anyway... man...

But thanks anyway—I'll reach out to them and see what's up.

$18 + you get a free physical card too, but only for a few more days...

I’ll throw an extra $6.75 your way once you DM me your info so I can double-check that you actually used my link.

Just gotta sign up, verify your account, deposit $30, order the physical card, and then make one single transaction (doesn't matter how much)...

Just a heads up, once you sign up, you gotta drop $30 into the account, order that physical card, and hit it with your first transaction through Chime to snag the $18 bonus.

So, sometimes when I click on certain threads, it opens up this weirdly formatted URL like:
Like this:

The thing is, even though I'm not logged in at all on this .xyz site, I can still read the thread just fine... but I can't actually sign in or anything?
Is this just some glitch with the main US forum, or am I looking at a keylogger or some other malware on my machine?
