Just so I can jump straight to answering all those questions from the forum members with a million posts—because I already know how this unhinged, baseless debate usually goes—let's try to skip the nonsense right off the bat, even though I’m honestly just trying to be helpful here.
So, no, I don't have anything better to do than sit here and comment on your group, and no, I didn't create this profile just for that purpose, but this thread is relevant, so I'm sticking to it.
I honestly don't get why it's such a struggle for you guys to admit that by gathering like this, you actually undershot the mark... and stop bringing up attendance numbers from matches twenty years ago—they’re more or less the same as what we saw at the protest.
Are you seriously satisfied just because everyone from today's stands showed up and the goal was met? I highly doubt it.
The whole point of calling for the meetup wasn't just to get the group together, but to reach the wider public. A small crowd like this isn't going to make any kind of impact on the news without more serious engagement through legit media outlets. You need to forget about those days of hanging banners all over Washington, D.C.—people don't have much left to cover themselves with these days, and your numbers are dropping.
That Saturday protest was barely mentioned by some TV station during prime time, and even then, it was just a quick bit after a long report on an LA Galaxy match.
Then come the next day, and you won't find the boycott mentioned anywhere. Not anywhere! And yet you're still happy with the turnout? Seriously? Don't you ever stop to wonder if you actually won over the public or even just drew attention to the corruption within the club? Well, you didn't. Because this move had absolutely zero effect.
Like I said before, your group has some top-tier, proven speakers, and regardless of how you feel about the media, you can't organize a serious protest that shakes the club's leadership, the public, or—unfortunately—the politics tied to the club without them.
We all remember that appearance on a major network where Vrbanović was getting torn apart from start to finish—shame the show was timed out, otherwise people would've been glued to it for hours. Of course, looking back now, not a single person representing the club is going to step up on TV to answer fan questions, but that’s on you guys to force the issue by staying visible in the media and sending inquiries to the Department of Sports, the DOJ, the league, and UEFA.
I've got plenty more to say, but I'll leave it at that for now.
And please, spare me the insults... it doesn't bother me personally, really, but maybe save that energy for someone who actually wants to have a constructive conversation.
