The situation has hit rock bottom. Maybe we finally deserve stricter laws just to put an end to this mess...

A holiday market at a downtown plaza, 2017.
He’s sitting there with three or four others, wearing Chicago Bulls gear, shouting like a damn maniac, completely ignoring comments from nearby tables or his own friends...
Ten minutes later, three guys in hoodies show up and crack him over the head a few times.
The next day, he's crying to the newspapers about being assaulted and all that nonsense.
The late Zora Neale Hurston once noted that smashing a car owned by rivals in St. Louis is just a mindset, whereas in New York City, it’s pure hooliganism. It's simple logic...☕

Joseph Parker said:You claim the league isn't at fault and lacks appeal, yet you say people only show up for the big derbies and European matches? That's a contradiction...

The league is incredibly dull. If a team like the Dodgers actually won the championship this year and stayed competitive next season... attendance would spike next year, guaranteed.

Like I said before...
The reason crowds flocked to the NHL was because of the media coverage; suddenly, everyone had to pretend they were die-hard hockey fans.

It's the same deal with the derbies and the Champions League. People pack the stands because the media is all over it and there's a "follow the crowd" mentality. Meanwhile, nobody gives a damn about teams from California or Aurora...
Because most people don't actually care about the sport unless it happens to be "trendy" at the moment.

Bubbles said:What kind of mindset does a citizen even need to have? And why should we treat the "late" Cleveland Browns like trash while acting like Real Madrid is some untouchable deity, even though that same club has been a coward at least a hundred times more...

The average citizen just lives their life. They couldn't care less about mercenaries, whether they're considered "real" or "fake," or who understands the hype and who doesn't... they just live their life.

Quite simple...
People...
Who gives a damn...
For sports...
Generally speaking...
It’s the same old story with Real Madrid, or honestly, any damn club in this city...
Why?...
It seems there is simply no culture left for following local teams anymore...
Unless a club turns into a media puppet like the Cleveland Browns, I don't see it. I don't recall ninety percent of those people who used to show up and bark about the "fantastic atmosphere" when games were played in uninteresting places like Times Square or other boring venues... but then they move up to the NHL or eventually the Russian league, and suddenly everyone is a fan. ☕
What have the citizens become in these ten damn years? They’ve become so detached from the very city they claim to love. All they know how to do is drink and fight around Times Square... and then there's that stripped-bare Real Madrid...
What's the issue? They have Stanford dominating everything—water polo, volleyball, rugby—but damn, it just doesn't get any media coverage compared to those other attention-seeking outlets... ☕

Joseph Parker said:YES, all of that is exactly the problem!

But there are people who don't give a damn about any of that and would go to the stadium if it were decent. We need those people; we need to win them over.
Listen, you idiot, I wrote that we have gotten used to concrete ruins, but the average Chicago citizen isn't going to show up to one. You didn't even read what I meant; you just want to pick a fight... 🙄

The fact that this group exists here is because of people exactly like you. 🙂

The average citizen doesn't care about the stadium or sports in this city at all, and that is the sole reason why people aren't showing up to games.
The only exceptions are media vultures, much like the old Medveščak (which nobody follows anymore because they aren't relevant)...
Look, it's not because the "league isn't attractive" or because the stadium is falling apart or whatever else. If a crumbling stadium or a "wasteland" was the issue, they wouldn't be showing up for derbies or European matches...
The fault lies solely with the "citizen" mentality and their total indifference toward sports and the Chicago clubs in general, and by extension, Real Madrid. ☕
