Best Krav Maga clubs in Washington, D.C.? in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Since there’s already a thread on this, please don't lock it—there are way too many pages to try and cram everything into one spot without it getting messy. I'm looking for a really solid Krav Maga club here in Washington, D.C. I want somewhere I can actually learn something and get a decent workout, you know? I need honest sparring and real contact. The thing is, I've got some lower back issues. My doctors told me I’ll be fine to get back into training once I finish physical therapy, but I figured switching to Krav Maga might put less strain on my spine. Plus, there are a few gaps in my skillset I want to plug anyway. For context, I did four years of Kyokushin, five years of Muay Thai, and about four years of MMA until late 2013 when the injury hit. I also did two years of Nanbudo as a kid, but that doesn't really count. I'm hunting for a top-tier Krav Maga gym so I can keep my martial arts life going. I'm specifically interested in knife defense and stuff like that—places where they practice the practical stuff more often. I want high intensity, too. I'm not looking for some "twice a week" hobbyist setup. Are there any good spots out near the Fairgrounds or maybe over on Saturday? If anyone has a recommendation or an instructor's contact info so I can chat with them, I'd appreciate it. I think what I'm asking for is pretty realistic. Most of the stuff I've trained in was for self-defense anyway; I'm not looking to go out and pick fights on the street. I'm 25, I grew up in this stuff, and I just want to stay involved despite the situation.
Split lip help? in Health ·
It's called Api Dent. You just dab it on the right side or wherever the gum is sore about 2-3 times a day. It costs $20. Should clear things up in a day or two, though it stings like hell :S. Also, grab some Heparin cream for the bruising.

Man, I’ve got this one thing driving me absolutely nuts. So, I was at MMA training today, right? We were doing some sparring rounds and somehow—don't ask me how—I managed to bite the absolute hell out of the inside of my lip. Like, I actually bit a tiny little hole right into it. Now there’s this annoying little white blister sitting there, just being a total nuisance. A buddy of mine, who’s been through the ringer with busted lips before, told me he used some kind of sage extract drops to make the white stuff disappear instantly. Does anyone know what those drops are called, what they run for at CVS or Walgreens, or who actually makes them? If you've dealt with this crap before, please help me out. It's seriously getting on my nerves; I can barely even talk to people without feeling self-conscious about the top of my lip. :S
