Mladen Jergović - again!? in Formula 1 ·
Mladen Jergović lives forever:

dina Milic-Jakovlic I had a soft spot for both Ligier and him; it was truly heartbreaking when that accident happened. Still, that remains the greatest F1 broadcast in history. Mladen Jergović took the grueling ninety-minute process of extracting drivers from their cars and shuttling them to helicopters and turned it into a high-stakes thriller. The following week, Studio magazine showered him with an unprecedented six or eight standing ovations, crowning it the finest sports coverage ever produced.

Jerga is definitely more formidable than Blaž... wouldn't you agree? 🙏

.........they leave you with this sense of primal evil, but it’s an evil that actually feels purposeful.

Exactly. Emperor Darth Sidious.
Even back when he was Chancellor Palpatine, he radiated this ancient, insidious, and calculated kind of malice—driven by a pure desire to manipulate and control every facet of existence...

I’m not even going to bother looking up the actor's name right now... but whoever played that character delivered a performance that was nothing short of flawless.

And the other villains in Star Wars, like General Grievous or Snoke... even Darth Vader... they all possess this streak of unadulterated evil. It might not hit as hard for everyone here, but to me, it's genuinely chilling.

I’d also throw in the Alien from the original Alien film... just pure, hungry evil.

I’m the one who kicked this off—so from here on out, when I start a new thread, you can count on things being incredibly exciting. Sound good?

Let’s settle on a rate for starting threads and using them, alright?
Just a small detail; I’d suggest $1 per post.

Stroll got lucky today, while Hulkenberg—who is clearly the superior driver—can't seem to break into the top three. It’s honestly infuriating.

Look, if it's frustrating for both of us, just imagine how Hulk feels.
I still see a true racer in Hulkenberg. In my opinion, Stroll and Perez are just drivers who follow the money.

And if he manages to knock him sideways—man, what a move that would be. Way to go, Esteban; I’m rooting for you.

stormybadger8 said:It’s interesting how some people claim it wasn't Honda that let Alonso down, but rather McLaren's gearbox...
though from my perspective, that just doesn't hold water. 🤔

Besides that, Vandoorne was running the older engine spec with a straight-line speed of 312, while Alonso had the newer spec hitting 327 on the straights...
Progress is clearly happening. It’s just hard to wrap my head around why they decided to revert Alonso back to the old engine. There might be some logic to it, but it still feels a bit strange.

Word from the Honda camp is that they went back to the old unit because they're essentially fighting for scraps at the back of the pack anyway, so they'd rather save the new engine for the next race.

Here is the actual reasoning behind using the older Honda engine this weekend. The Japanese team is playing it smart; they are working hard and refusing to throw in the towel despite all the pressure and chaos. You just have to have faith in them:

You can run the numbers yourself and see how slim the odds really are🙂
.
He might even cause absolute chaos right at the start, which is exactly what I’m rooting for. It would finally force everyone to have a serious conversation about him; the kind of talk where you just drop your helmet and go all out🍿.

Look... nobody was actually expecting an Oliver Panis victory. But here, at least someone is holding out hope that Max takes it tomorrow.

That said, Olivier Panis was a legitimate talent, probably in the same league as Jenson Button—it's just a shame that his crash in Montreal in '97 absolutely wrecked his career
. Because that Ligier (Prost)-Mugen/Honda combo was a beast in '97. A rookie almost drove it to victory at the GP Austria that year

Mladen Jergović - again!? in Formula 1 ·
All things considered... M. J. briefly breathed some life back into the GP1 portal.
Oton ribič is back, attempting to coax Zlatko Kefelja back into the fold—we have new contributors now—and our resident F1 expert was once again full of ideas and vision... BUT... an impossible situation has occurred...

One day, in the far, far distant future, D. Š. might find himself begging for spare change in Ban Jelačić Square, finally realizing just how powerfully arrogant and underhanded he used to be...

A man like M. J. possesses a rather egoistic streak, but he certainly knows how to provide value when it comes to F1... It’s a shame, truly a shame, to cast aside an F1 figure like him...

stormybadger8 said:It’s not exactly rocket science...

From what I gather, Mladen spent years working abroad, mostly as an employee rather than the one signing the checks...
Because of that, Mladen expects signed contracts to actually mean something and assumes he'll get exactly what's promised on paper...
I wouldn't call him stupid, just totally oblivious to how things work around here. He’s pretty naive when it comes to doing business in our neck of the woods...

Then you’ve got our local boss, Štetner, who—much like a huge chunk of the newcomers lately—probably only cares about how much fun he can have with someone else's money. Contracts and paying people? Not really his priority...

It’s possible this is exactly what's happening with D.Š., but that kind of luck and satisfaction can't last forever. Eventually, someone is going to see right through him before he even gets a chance to spend the money... and then...... 🍿

James Harris34 said:It looks like the big boss thought he snagged a 51% stake when he actually only bought 49%. Once Štetner started going wild with that cash—hitting up races and doing all those interviews—Jergović apparently got a little jealous and started pushing back. So, Štetner just kicked him to the curb since he still holds that 51% majority...

Let’s strip away the noise and look at this simply:

M. J. is being willfully ignorant or just plain misguided. Did really nobody besides D. Š. and his legal team actually check the paperwork to see if it was 51%?

Or did they just meet up like two guys at a local diner over burgers and sodas, shake hands on a deal, and then broadcast it to the world without double-checking the fine print?

P.S. The mystery surrounding their business relationship is only getting deeper, especially considering their past ventures and how they split up... all while chasing the next big payday.
P.S. I. B. is somewhere out there, flying solo... khm... raising a glass to it all.

stormybadger8 said:Hold on, you actually think Štetner is the kind of guy who plays by the contract? 🤔
He definitely doesn't look like that type to me. Regardless of a mountain of paperwork or fancy lawyers, I wouldn't touch a business deal with him for anything...

Because having a contract and lawyers telling me I'm 100% right
doesn't mean much if I have to spend years chasing Štetner through the courts after everything goes south...

Though honestly, I'm not sure I'd want to get into any business deals with Jerg either...
That sounds like a massive headache waiting to happen....

What makes you think Jerga actually knows how to handle business? 🤷
Based on what I've seen in the media, I'd go much further and say he has no clue—and I mean really, really no clue...

I honestly doubt Jergović doesn't know how to handle business—he’s certainly no fool; he managed to descend from the mountains after spending 35 years up there...

I don't know what kind of guy Stetner is, but what else is there to hold onto if not a contract or an agreement? Especially for such a young and ambitious American entrepreneur (and please excuse my sarcasm there—let's just assume he is what I'm implying).

But let's look at this situation from a different angle... they (M.J. & D.Š.) announce their renewed partnership in August, introducing the American (and wider) public to what this is all about, just enough for us to get the picture. The announcement said they were starting in September. They start. M.J. posts, writes, and comments... then October rolls around and M.J. mysteriously vanishes!?

Let's set aside (for now) those interviews with the Mercedes drivers (even though that’s a massive point)...
Let's try to view this objectively from D.Š.'s perspective:

You team up again with a major American Formula 1 figure, and after everything you've been through together, he ditches you after just one month of PARTNERSHIP... (AGAIN). So, hold on a second, what do you think of Stetner? Who is he, really? 🤔

Just how much ego, ruthlessness, nerve, rudeness, arrogance, and conceit does it take to hit rock bottom—and still manage to screw over M.J. so badly? And to do it right in front of the entire American public?

It’s clear that D.Š. doesn't care about Formula 1, given this kind of behavior. He should be banned from the sport. For life.

northerncobra31 said:Well, I.B. can just hide behind that issue, especially since he's the one who spent years inviting Jergović into the studio without ever checking if he was actually a factor in F1, so all those open letters to the public basically fall apart.

Exactly. And then there's this guy Štetner... what a character... 🤦🤦

stormybadger8 said:What do you mean "not" 😁

Do a little homework on the timeline...
Mlađo buys 49% of the site, and then suddenly Štetner is back on the circuit doing interviews with Hamilton.😁

Look, I don't follow GP1 religiously, but damn, it feels like once Mlađo bought in, they started showing up at races they never even touched before.🤣

It can't be that straightforward. You're telling me Štetner takes the money, keeps his 51%, and Jergović doesn't involve his lawyers or anything? He knows how business works—he isn't some kid in preschool, after all.

There's clearly something else going on here, we just haven't pinned it down yet... 🤔
All we have left is pure speculation. It’s a shame for Mladen Jergović and his F1 legacy (regardless of what anyone thinks of it). Meanwhile, I.B. is probably out somewhere celebrating... 🎉🐔 still convinced he was right about M. J. 🤦

stormybadger8 said:Hold on, did Štetner screw him over for cash again? 😵
I seriously can't believe he's still this naive. 🤦

Mladen Jergović, former Formula 1 broadcast producer and one of the biggest experts in the sport has bought a 49% stake in the GP1.hr project from Davorin Štetner, owner of Kreator Grupa!

Oh Jerg, Jerg... 49% isn't 51%. 🤦

Do you really think that's the ONLY thing? It's not like this guy has been coasting through life on an empty tank, right? Or is he...?

Hmm... Mladen is back, yet Davorin is still hanging onto this link?
