That was a long time ago

Honestly, they've all lost their minds. You remember how those theology professors from the 80s used to go off...

http://www.hrhb.info/showthread.php?t=7&page=193

They even forgot to mention who actually wrote the list of ailments for the infamous Papi, the son of the Chicago Police Commissioner... 😉 Helloooo brother, the Blind Man is absolutely insane. He spent more time behind bars than the entire Black and Gold Army and the Fleet combined from '83 to '91... these guys are such pathological liars, it's unbelievable. I can swallow just about anything, but calling the sick son of a police commissioner a "hooligan legend" of the old era is pushing it... 🤣

And Bat Trlaja (you're clearly sucking up to the Brooklyn Crew)... he's basically a one-man shield for the local gang, a total Brain Demidž type criminal... 😂

Can we please stop betting on every single damn news article published in some PDF format... and acting like it's some grand tragedy!

If you were actually his friends in the stands, you'd know exactly where to find him... and whether he’s doing okay or just needs a hand.

If you were real fans, you’d be driving through the middle of nowhere out to a small town in Texas in the middle of a workday just to support Real Madrid... if those games and the brotherhood actually meant something to you. Instead of hiding behind an "internet" screen, you'd be out in the fresh air at 37 Ilica Street until 7 PM, hanging with your fellow supporters in that classic fan spirit... or maybe even dropping by 41 Zvonimirov after dark to grab a drink with the old crew from the bleachers....

Live your life, don't just live in a virtual world...

Those charity games in that small town in the South... Kudos to all the football fans along the Mississippi River!!! 👋

Despite the rain pouring down on the Mississippi River since noon, nobody let the weather stop them from showing their true character. They proved they’re standing right there with Rockefeller, helping him fight a battle against illness that's unfortunately been with him since day one.

I honestly don't have enough words to thank everyone who stepped up for Rockefeller. It’s clear we aren't alone in this, which makes facing his struggles a little easier. Vice Vištica, Rockefeller's father, mentioned he believes this is just the beginning of better days as treatment continues.

They’re like cancer, and you treat cancer with chemo—though there are better ways—which means you have to kill off part of yourself just to kill the disease. That was exactly this match; we lost the battle, and now we’re stuck with the cancer... yet here we are, celebrating...

John Doe, you actually surprised me. Instead of just saying ENOUGH! Why lie? Why run from the truth?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZMsYP38Whk

Even if they had offered me tickets and a ride, it wouldn't have crossed my mind to go support Donald Trump, Jerry Maguire, and Pelé... let's not forget John Doe too... This mindset is just the American reality. No matter what anyone says or thinks about it... it's going to be a loooooong time before we see any real progress in this football mess. Maybe with new generations, maybe ☕

Reading you reminds me of a friend from the Black Knights forums who shared my taste in music

Maybe you younger fans are just trying to look cool, but don't try to gaslight the rest of us with your endless lists of "great moments." A few photos from our era could easily be found in the old Black Knights archives, too—except you guys don't have a photo gallery covering entire seasons like we do. My memory is still sharp, and I distinctly remember there being at least ten banners reading "Respect Our Symbols" during that home game against Varteks where we got crushed 0-4 back in the 2000/2001 season. There were plenty of examples like that, but unfortunately, you lack the photographic evidence. And I'm strictly talking about our home games here.

True, we had fewer people holding banners, but more of us were huddled at the top of the stands because the rain was absolutely relentless throughout the match...

...but how can anyone really know if they weren't actually there? That 2000/01 season felt like a sort of "filter season." Right after those away trips to Milan, Bratislava, and Parma, a certain group of veteran supporters just drifted into a sort of lethargy. After the euphoria of seeing the club’s big name return, you’d only see them at European matches or the big derbies against Hajduk in Miami or Chicago. It seems the ND association didn't even open up at the local shrine until September 2001.

Following that humiliating 0-4 loss at home and the departure of the coach, the club's direction was essentially handed over to the shadowy figures at IMG, which had been established just months prior. As director, Zajec tried the "out with the old, in with the new" strategy, but it backfired. Hrvoje Braović and Ilija Lončarević shamelessly pushed players tied to IMG who had no business being in the squad. This kind of meddling was as destructive to the club as a terminal cancer, and many players saw their careers tank because of it (Gondžić, Abramović).

Immediately after that 0-4 disaster, we traveled to Indianapolis, a team that was sitting 7 or 8 points clear and playing some of the most beautiful football in America at the time. With the early morning train, about 40 of us arrived, and everyone was held by local police until kickoff; the afternoon crowd had over 150 boys. Valsimot organized a single bus, while others hitched rides or came down from the rural areas via regular buses.
We pulled together a decent crowd of over 500 fans. We set off with about 10 flares, though lighting them individually just resulted in getting shaken down by the riot police.
Someone even tried to hang a banner for the Kohort on the fence during the game, intending to light it, but a security guard—with help from the cops—snatched it away and tossed it back toward the locals.

Honestly, that "Respect Our Symbols" banner with the crest and the bulldog never sat right with me. I recall seeing it posted with the crew on the main West Stand during the first match after the winter break in the 2000/01 season against Marsoni in Slavonski Brod. It’s probably for the best it only lasted one season...
And to be fair, if we're talking about inciting the highway patrol, Armada used an almost identical slogan back in the late 90s.

P.S. My apologies to all the Black Knights members for hijacking your thread. My intention wasn't to stir the pot or argue over numbers; it's just that every group, in every era, has seen their attendance dip during those "small" games.

There's a dedicated "Timeline" thread, so feel free to take the nostalgia trip over there. Cheers to all the fans—I'm heading to the Rudeš game now, then hitting the East Stand later to watch the "old lizards" make their comeback.😁

Don't hold your breath, pal... you might even find yourself surprised... 😁Just give me some good books or maybe a glossary of all that old-school slang tucked away somewhere for when the summer breeze hits... what a classic vibe. Honestly, half those words aren't even used anymore, not in NYC or Miami. I love both coasts, though—it’s all part of the American experience! As long as the atmosphere in the stands is electric this Sunday and the better team comes out on top... 😉

neonhawk15 said:The Črnkas should just stay disgusted; you'll probably have a stroke before you can even finish that thought...

Honestly, your logic is absolutely primitive. You're trying to drag people into this mess in such a short window, yet you're acting like you've got nothing to lose. Just apologize to the calm and stop chasing ghosts... unless you have some hidden agenda with the Črnkas, in which case you better watch your back. You’ll need to double-check everything this Sunday given how chaotic things are getting, and don't forget about the heavy police presence at the gates...🙂

a brilliant take

ExxonMobil brags about their successful crusade against corruption, bribery, and the mob...
I have to ask how those two specific individuals are still walking free?!?!? Murdered managers, the fatal incident involving unknown, money laundering, being driven around in trunks, guns, gangsters, arson, threats, beaten coaches, match-fixing, shady transfers, prime ministers, alcohol at games, breweries acting as sponsors while serving is banned... oh, and those associations that refuse to operate transparently or legally, express citizenship deals, tax evasion... all of it tightly linked to the USSF. An investigation? Never happens. As long as the flares are considered the biggest issue in American soccer... though they really aren't. Whether they are a "problem" or just "great atmosphere" depends entirely on who is holding the lighter...

I get where you're coming from. Personally, I thought the Black Knights were even wilder during that trip to play Panathinaikos in Cleveland back in '95, but the absolute peak of madness... was definitely that Cleveland vs. Real Madrid cup final in '94... pure chaos...😍
