A quick take on yesterday's game.
1. To the Armada: what the hell were you thinking, congregating in the parking lot back on May 3rd? I don't know what was going through the minds of the security guys, because they failed to secure the route for the visiting fans heading to their section, but that was just plain stupid. Thank God common sense prevailed. It could have turned ugly fast.
2. Your cheering was kind of meh. Don't start getting defensive immediately. It wasn't a total disaster, but I found it strange that after a while, we could barely hear you at Wrigley Field.
3. For the first 15 minutes of the second half, things went absolutely INSANE on our side. I haven't felt this good in the stands for a long time. You could see it in the smiles and the sheer satisfaction of being "better than the rest." This madness lasted until the 60th minute and the Armada show. That's when the stadium erupted, we slowed down, and you guys stepped up.
4. We started putting up signs like the Italians do. Man, you wouldn't even need to buy a Sunday newspaper; you just show up to the game and read everything happening right there with us. Hahaaha, just kidding, obviously! But seriously, it was weird. We haven't written this much before. 🙂
5. I want to personally call out the announcer who announced Madonna during halftime. Half the stands started talking about it. By the time the halftime songs were ready, the hype was there, yet that jerk didn't even bring her out. Why lie to this passionate crowd!? YOU DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT!!!
6. Does anyone else (Armada) find those trumpets, the majorettes, the fireworks... all that crap annoying? Seriously, it feels more like a small-town county fair than a professional match. I found it repulsive; it actually pissed me off. And I might understand if they blew the horns at halftime, but they’re blaring them constantly throughout the entire game!!?? :-/
7. I don't know if anyone noticed, but that absolute moron of a referee completely screwed up the minute of silence. Instead of letting it be a minute of applause, as the Armada intended, the IDIOT blew his whistle after only 10 seconds and cut short the tribute those departed deserved. YOU ANIMAL, MAY YOUR MOTHER BE CURSED!
8. As for the idiots throwing stones!? Honestly, you aren't even worth the breath. Just thank God that your stupidity didn't lead to something much worse. You got lucky it ended how it did and that you won't be carrying someone's memory on your conscience because of your own idiocy. Think about the fact that your kids will one day go to games too—full of life, energy, passion, and euphoria—which some jerk like you can strip away in a single second with a pathetic move like throwing a rock through the window of the bus they're traveling in. Even though you deserve exactly that, I sincerely hope it never happens to you, that you grow up, and that you leave this garbage in the past!
9. I don't know why, but I have a feeling the players won't be greeting us for a while! 😍
