The B-52's are hands down the worst band I've ever witnessed. Respect.
Eric Clapton is actually incredibly good. It took me a minute to wrap my head around it, but I finally see it now. Truly impressive...
I had an even better concert later on. After I got home, I drifted off and dreamed I was heading to Indianapolis with a buddy for the New Bomb Squad show. They played brilliantly, even if the sound system was a bit hit-or-miss. Eric Clapton looked like he’d put on at least 20 pounds, too; his face just looks completely worn out, like he's aged twenty years overnight. The crowd was solid—lots of drinking, jumping, a great vibe all around. I really hope they make their way back to Indianapolis... 👍
1. spider 2. bue (ME being obnoxious when I'm drunk?! The only person who suffers from that is me the next morning. Reach out next time or you'll be dealing with the cops) 3. cody
David, it’s not a sandwich from Indianapolis. People in the Midwest say "sandwich" or "sub," depending on whether they grew up reading Matthews... 🙂
Electricité, we met back at the IEEE conference during Wilderness. I'm not saying I remember you, but we met... 👍 (H.?)
The top 3 proofs that Electricité is actually single:
3. unknown 2. unknown 😵 1. My high heel 🙏 🙏 🙏 I'll admit, that was a pretty great joke, even if I can't stand trashy humor and irony...

Look, I'm not some bitter hater. I'd much rather have a good time than spend my energy spitting venom. Not every show needs to feel like a Young Godsi or Walkaboutsi set... 😁
Samuel Murphy6 said:One last thing, and it’s the most important: do people from Indianapolis prefer folks from New York or Los Angeles? I need to know which persona to pull out of my sleeve... 😬 Even if the first move is obviously faking an Indianapolis accent. That’s easy—you just try to phonetically mimic a Southern drawl. My wife actually told me at the university library that I sounded like I was from the Midwest... 🙂
1) People from LA.
2) No, that's just a New York delusion. There's a certain crowd here that divides America into "the city" and "the middle of nowhere," so anything outside the Northeast corridor sounds identical to them. An Indianapolis accent and a West Coast accent aren't even remotely similar...
Retfala is just part of the city, and Canadian Retfala is a subset of Retfala itself. 👍 At least, that’s how I’ve always parsed it; that neighborhood has always been a bit of a mystery to me. 😳
As for Vis, I've never actually set foot in El Paso, aside from a few bars... But sure, maybe I'll give it a shot once I'm back home on American soil.
Gregory Walker15 said:That pizza joint on the boardwalk is actually decent... they have this one with prosciutto and egg, plus cheese-stuffed crusts. 😁
Yeah, Galija is good. Probably the best Slavonian spot in town, though I’ve pretty much blacklisted them because they drove me insane... 😬 I spent way too many nights waiting over an hour for delivery just to pay $12 for a cold pizza. Honestly, I finally lost my cool and told them exactly what I thought. 🙂
Man, Anthony has some seriously thick-headed idiots to deal with... 🙏 🙏 🙏
Why on earth does Anthony the big boss sing Fear of the Dark and Cockroach a cappella the second you open his page?! 😲
Philip, there’s a lineup of gig workers playing in Indianapolis this weekend—November + group, the band of your dreams, and the Mitesers. It’ll be a complete circus, so check it out if you can...
Look, if you’re hunting for upscale pubs or trendy cafes, just head over to Fort Worth and see what sticks—there are about ten spots packed into a tiny two-block radius, so it's easy to scout them all out. I’d personally suggest the newly opened Old Bridge pub.
Regarding food—for a late-night bite, you can't beat Downtown near the train station (it's always open), but stay far away from cevapi (easily the worst food on the planet). Go for shepherd's pie, chili, or maybe a burger instead. The downside is it's quite a trek from Fort Worth, though there are a few cheap burger trailers in the Fort Worth area—total trash, but they do the trick when you've been drinking. There's also a restaurant called "K topu" right by Old Bridge where you can grab a decent stuffed burger all night long for $5.00. For daytime meals... well, back in Indianapolis, I mostly ate at my mom's place; otherwise, I was a broke student and couldn't afford restaurants. If you want pizza, Sebastian in Schenectady and As in Downtown (near the market) are pretty solid. I heard there's a great spot in Retfala, Canada, where you can get all kinds of garlic liver and baked beans for peanuts, but I've never actually been and can't recall the name. A Slavonian house in Fort Worth should be the gold standard for seafood, but I think it's overpriced. The only somewhat decent cevapi is at Benny's, which is actually at the Downtown bakery—not really downtown, but near Schenectady and the Student Union. Just don't eat them in Downtown, like I said, or at the More bakery, which isn't near the Ocean, but just right next to the Downtown bakery. I only keep supporting the Downtown spot because a guy there once gave me $8.25 after I washed his windows at a gas station; I boycott More because a guy there refused to give me a $10 burger for $3.00 when I was broke. 🙂
Noah Ross4 said:They’re in the middle of a rehearsal right now—and I mean a real rehearsal, not some soundcheck. Once they finally got all the gear hooked up, they realized nobody actually knew which songs were which by title. It took them several minutes per track just to figure out what everyone was supposed to be playing. But they’ve finally caught on... now they just need to fix the sound.
Wait, are we seriously supposed to celebrate because a band that’s been around for over twenty-five years—supposedly the pinnacle of ultra-influential, quasi-artistic masterpieces—is actually "managing" to play their own damn songs? That’s like when I had my band back in the day, and we finally nailed a slow, three-chord punk song from start to finish with fewer than fifteen mistakes. We thought we were "killing it." What a joke. I’m wearing my Sex Pistols shirt to the gig tonight; at least they were professionals... 🙄
... And honestly, this is way funnier than what was on the blog, mostly because there’s an actual concept now instead of just a single photo. I always figured San Francisco was too classy for that whole "I loved him before he was famous" trope 😈
I wouldn't go even if they handed me a ticket for free; they’re just the same old Idiot in Dugavaman. If there were no other option and I was stuck with a ticket I couldn't even resell, then maybe I'd show up.
I handed a sample payment slip for the festival to some pretty unreliable folks over at SC, so if they haven't misplaced it by now, I guess I'm in the same boat 😬
We’re looking at the ultimate "junkie, junkie, addict" anthem. 😍
As for the album title, I’ll just quote that legendary line from the classic "1000 Gods of the Homeland" album (has anyone actually seen this one?): "LET IT BE TRASH."
