So, am I the one closing this thread?
I actually dig the name "punk rock".

Is that him? The one who drops those tracks from the guy obsessed with beats and making hits? The one living out of that octopus-like soup kitchen? 😁

Here, in the context of POP-punk? 😁

Samuel Murphy6, take it easy. We’re all just joking around here.

Look, you've read the Georg Gimarc Book, but I've actually listened to the bands we're discussing and made my own judgment. 😁
(I'll admit that "When The Going Gets Tough..." is a solid record, but there's just no way I can force it into my—admittedly massive—vision of punk 🙂)

Thanks, man. Honestly, I’d probably show up just to see what kind of mess this listening session turns into... 🙂

I really hope that embarrassed smiley face doesn't mean someone I actually respect on this forum is responsible for those soul-crushing, mindless drivel pieces in that garbage rag. 😢
(Look, I know there's a columnist over there, and I finally picked up their column the other day—it was pretty mediocre. Honestly, the only thing worth reading in Click was that Ribafishev report from Japan.)

If you're looking to avoid California, my go-to list would include Buzzcocks, maybe Mega City Four, Snuff, and Dinosaur Jr. (stuff like "Little Fury Things," "Show Me The Way," "On The Way," etc.). Maybe Moving Targets, and definitely Jawbreaker and Pegboy. I'd throw in Pixies ("Head On"!), a certain NoMeansNo hit (from "Worldhood of the World," obviously), "Sleep" by Big Black, some of the more commercial New Bomb Turks ("Scared Straight"), and the Dwarves from their pop-punk era ("Thank Heaven for Little Girls" through "... Are Young and Good Looking"). Then there's "I'm Gonna Play Hockey" by Hanson Brothers, Overflow, Misfits, and Supernova (that "Ages 3 and up" album is basically a goldmine of mindless hits for punk kids). Also Undertones, Stiff Little Fingers ("Alternative Ulster" and "Suspect Deviant," naturally), Exploding Hearts, and man, The Real Kids are even better... Psihomodo Pop's "Kad Places," Screeching Weasel (screaming "Boogadaboogadaboogad" as loud as possible, especially "Supermarket Fantasy"), and The Clash—as subtle as possible (current favorite is "The Last Gang in Town"). Leatherface ("Mush" is easily their best), Hüsker Dü is a given, and maybe Rich Kids on LSD if you're into metal and idiots. Peter & The Test Tuba Babies during their most melodic phase ("Supermodels"), Carter USM ("Let's Get Tattoos," yes, yes, yes!), and Naked Raygun is mandatory ("I Remember," "I Don't Know," "Treason"—the very essence of pop meets punk and vice versa), Eater, Saints, X from Australia, and American X (which is technically California, but not *that* California)... and I could go on forever. 😁
Pop-punk is the superior punk genre... 😍
______________
* If you ask me, the perfect pop-punk listening session is putting Pegboy's "Strong Reaction + Three Chord Monte" on shuffle and repeat.

Is she one of those Rambo Amadeus types?... 🙂
D: Have you played in New York City lately?
I was playing the harp one evening. It was an unplugged festival, and I made my terms clear: "I’ll show up, but only if I get to play the harp." So, they actually brought one out. I walked up to the guy handling the instrument, asked him which side you're supposed to approach it from, and then I just went to town on it—absolutely pummeled that harp, slapped it, and belted out "Count On Us." It's actually a rather dark composition...
D: Wait, isn't that a song by BALASEVIC?
No, he walked away from that song. It belongs to me now...
D: So, what did you guys do about the contract?
We didn't... He renounced her publicly, and I accepted her openly. Now, she belongs to me. I’m going to need her...

A total curveball—the song is titled "Red Poppy."😁

I wish someone would polish up those old tracks from The New York Times—you know, the ones like "That's the fight that gave us everything / A communist full of cathedral," or "Here comes dawn, here comes day, here comes Thomas and Racan"... 😂
But let's not beat around the bush. I'm actually heading over to see if the Dubrava demon will show up. He’s basically specialized in anti-fascist music, though he mostly communicates exclusively through links to free MP3 downloads... 👍

You missed the tiny detail that Gigo swapped guitars twice, and each one of those breaks lasted longer than their entire set... 🤔
Oh, and here is the #1 comment from the crowd regarding that mess:
1. PUNK WITH STRINGS ON THE GUITAR IS TOTAL GARBAGE! - Kobija
As for me, I’ve only ever experienced Spencer through a demo CD and a live DVD from Bilja, and honestly, they sounded respectable enough there. A real band—I'd even call them professional, if all the members weren't such jokes... 😁
