How much of a total loser do you have to be if your entire existence revolves around hunting down some version of the Hajduk crest featuring the Checkered pattern from the 1945 to 1990 era? You see it everywhere—on banners, rings, street flags—it’s honestly on par with those old ladies who claim they saw the Virgin Mary in their coffee grounds or some weird stains on a basement wall. Here’s the cold, hard historical truth: that Checkered pattern was never actually part of the official Hajduk crest during that period, unlike what you see with Dinamo. Just because some guy wore an old logo to a game or someone spray-painted a vintage design on a brick wall doesn't change the actual history of official emblems. If we were following that flawed logic, I guess the official flag of the United States would be whatever random pattern someone doodled on a wall once and started waving around at rallies 🤣

I get it, for a lot of these kids and even some adults who view the old Yugoslavia era as some abstract, legendary myth—sort of like how people look at Ancient Greece—this method of "proving" things through nostalgia feels really impressive. But seriously, why even bring this up here? 🤣
Overrated sports icons? in Other Sports ·
In the States, we tend to blow way too much steam over every random handball player or water polo kid who ever picked up a ball.

Honestly, people like Sachin Tendulkar and Alex Rodriguez are fifty times more iconic and globally recognized than some washed-up guy like Amer Balic, and once you finally wrap your head around that reality, life just gets a whole lot easier. ☕

You know, if you really want to understand how much handball matters, just look at the facts. In a country like France, where they’ve got World Cup titles and Olympic gold hanging on the walls, something crazy happens: about 80% of the population couldn't tell you a single thing about the sport. When the World Cup rolls around, you've basically got two journalists covering the whole thing, and by the time the news hits the stands, you're digging through page 15 just to find a headline. It’s funny, though, because we love to talk ourselves up, acting like we're some kind of ultimate athletic powerhouse, fueling this massive fantasy that we’re the most sporting nation on the planet.
