I'm actually considering doing the same thing at the Lastrić Clinic—thanks for the heads-up. 🙂
I'm curious—has anyone here actually gone through with a Barron-ligature procedure for grade 1 or 2 hemorrhoids? I'd love to hear what the experience was like for you.
Six days ago, I underwent bilateral groin surgery under general anesthesia. Once I woke up, I was dealing with some pretty intense nausea, so they gave me something for it—which helped—leaving me with nothing but a lack of appetite and some mild weakness. Everything seemed fine until two days ago, when I was hit by this sudden, horrific wave of nausea and dizziness. Now, I have zero appetite, I’m barely eating anything, and I can't sleep. At first, I assumed it was just a reaction to the medication, but I haven't taken anything since. Is it actually possible for side effects to linger this long?
Hello, I am looking for a recommendation for a reputable private neurologist in the Washington, D.C. area who specializes in treating neuropathic pain.
Thank you
No one actually brought that possibility up to me—I had to dig through the internet to figure it out myself. Looking at this thread, there are already quite a few women dealing with similar issues, and I have to emphasize that absolutely no one suggested to them, or to me, that we might be looking at a hernia here in the States. Instead, we’ve all been traveling abroad to see specialists for hernias because the specific expertise we need isn't readily available locally. If I recall correctly, about seven of us here have had some form of hernia confirmed. It isn't something you "treat" with medication; it requires surgery—there is simply no other way out. I strongly suggest you join the discussion in that thread and do some reading; if it weren't for that community, I’d still be wandering aimlessly from doctor to doctor today.
I had a similar experience starting with bladder pressure—though for me, it was accompanied by a burning sensation and elevated blood pressure. Intercourse was incredibly painful, too. During my pelvic exam, even light pressure against the vaginal wall caused intense pain. After months of fighting with doctors who wouldn't listen, it turned out I actually had bilateral hernias pressing on the nerves in my pelvis and causing muscle spasms. You might want to take a look at the Vulvodynia thread to compare symptoms; it could be what you're dealing with. Best of luck!
So, has anyone ever experienced a tampon turning their skin blue or causing irritation that lingers—like, almost a full day later? I was using them for therapeutic reasons rather than during my period, if that makes sense. I have an appointment at the clinic this coming Tuesday, but in the meantime, does anyone have advice if the discomfort doesn't subside? 😢
