So this whole boycott thing feels pretty ridiculous to me. I was all for it for a while back when the owner was at the absolute peak of his power, but things have shifted. He’s basically halfway out the door already; the only real question left is when he’ll finally step down. I think in a few years, everything will settle itself out regarding that issue, but until then, we need to focus on keeping the group intact.
And if we’re being honest, the boycott hasn't actually done anything but hurt the group itself. It didn't achieve its goal of pushing the guy out, nor can a boycott, by its very nature, actually accomplish anything in that regard. To me, I don't see any sense in boycotting unless you're just shooting yourselves in the foot so everyone else can talk about how noble and righteous the BBB are, or how they haven't been "bought off" or whatever. Honestly, who cares about those stories if they result in our own group falling apart? Sometimes in life, you have to be a little selfish and think about your own interests first before worrying about everyone else. Because let’s face it: even with the way Dinamo is running now, the higher-ups couldn't care less about the fans, let alone the BBB. So, the boycott is a bust; we need to look forward.
Besides, only a strong BBB can actually guarantee a real fight against the monster running this club. Instead of strengthening us, the boycott has just weakened the BBB, so why are we moving backward when we should be moving forward?
In essence, the boycott was only the best choice insofar as it showed us how certain individuals within the group really feel and helped expose the traitors. Since that's already been accomplished, I don't see any reason to keep it up. We know exactly who stands where now—who's on the owner's side and who's against him—and that's that. Any attempt to force a boycott just for the sake of boycotting is counterproductive and, looking long-term, will only damage the group. And I'll say it again: sometimes you have to prioritize yourself over the "greater good," because in this country, it's nearly impossible to mobilize enough people to create a critical mass for change through street protests. When was the last time you saw a massive protest in America? Even veterans struggle to get more than 500 people together for a demonstration. This nation is too passive; we shouldn't waste our time and energy on things that simply won't yield results.
Can anyone tell me anything about what happened in Athens back in November of last year?
