Seagate Expansion in Computer Peripherals ·
Hi there,
My macOS has stopped recognizing my external hard drive. Everything was working perfectly fine until yesterday, but today when I plug it into my laptop, it just says it can't find it. I've already tried plugging it into two other computers, but I'm getting the exact same result on all of them. The specific hard drive model is wdbkxh5000abk

Taylor Morales31 said:Honestly, it would be pretty ridiculous if Facebook or YouTube were lagging because of 2GB of RAM. If things are stuttering, the issue is probably the flash drive first and foremost. Besides, I have to admit I haven't actually tested this specific setup yet. I usually have music playing in WMP while I'm gaming, which—man, I don't even know why I do that? If you're playing a game, just focus on the game... 🤷

I know it won't, I'm just saying ☕. And about the music, I only really do that sometimes when I'm playing CoD

Matthew Young35 said:I honestly think 4GB is the sweet spot if you want decent value for money when running Windows 7.
2GB feels like you're just barely scraping by.
And 1GB? That’s just not enough. Even for basic web browsing, it's a struggle.

I don't know, I used to have an old rig with just 2GB of RAM and a 1.80GHz processor, and it actually worked pretty great. I could pull up a song on YouTube and check Facebook without any major lag. I even had Call of Duty 4 installed back then; I could run that on medium settings while listening to music on WMP at the same time.

It should run just fine. On my old desktop, I was rocking a Celeron 430 at 1.80 GHz with 2 GB of RAM and a 256 MB graphics card, and honestly, everything worked pretty smoothly back then.😁

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to Turn system Restore on or OFF properly. I really want to stop it from creating all these extra backup files over on my D: drive.

http://www.zaslike.com/viewer.php?fi...k90fdadzyr.png I attached a screenshot here showing what's taking up space on my D: drive.

In my opinion, Adobe Reader is just a much better and more widely recognized option than Adobe 😁

Taylor Morales31 said:Well, that's just how you see it... I mean, for some people, it isn't even better ☕

I suppose everyone has their own preferences, but personally, I'd definitely recommend it to him. 😁

By the way, do you think I'd actually get more battery life out of my laptop if I ditched Windows 7 and went back to Windows XP? I guess it's worth wondering.

You already got an answer, and let me say it one more time: absolutely NOT.

goldenhound32 said:Of course, but that wasn't even what I was asking. 🙂
The question was whether an XP battery lasts just as long, less, or more than a week?

👍

That wasn't actually the question; you've just posed a whole new one now.
It’s just as gutting. 😂

TuneUp

I’d say just delete that and grab TuneUp instead. It’s seriously better—like, 10,000 times better.

Alright, here you go—go ahead and download the specific drivers you're looking for right here:

http://support.asus.com/download.asp...6iinKxu0y5agcg Just a heads-up though, that link points to the Windows 7 32-bit version. If you happen to be running a 64-bit system instead, you should probably just switch the operating system selection at the top of the page.

Did you actually remember to download the audio drivers?

Go to Windows Update, head over to the Optional updates section, and you should be able to find the American English language pack right there.
Well, you can just head over to the Microsoft website, or honestly, just check out any of those big-box tech retailers

Paul Lopez49 said:I ended up installing Windows Ultimate, but unfortunately, I set it to American, and honestly, I can't make heads or tails of half the menus. I could really use some help here. 😁

For example, MSN is just sitting there constantly open in my taskbar. I have no clue how to move it down to the system tray on the bottom right, where things like the volume, language settings, and other icons usually live.

I’m sure there will be plenty of other things tripping me up, too, because trying to navigate an OS in a language I don't speak feels like I'm trying to read Chinese. 🤣

Well, just switch the language setting to English.

As for MSN, it works that way, and it's the exact same deal with Skype.
