Hey. I'm on the hunt for a decent sound card, but I don't want to get ripped off again. I've heard people talking up the Asus Sonar series—DX, DG, DS—and some Creative Labs stuff too... just a bunch of options floating around. Which ones actually hold up? Anyone here running something specific? Mainly looking for something that kills it for gaming but doesn't suck for music either. I'm rocking some Bose QuietComfort headphones and a Logitech X530 setup. Thanks.

software itself.

Listen, silverviper6, you clearly think you’re preaching to the choir here, but trust me, I’m not some idiot who doesn't know how to download drivers. Even a toddler could figure out how to grab a specific driver for Windows 7. This whole thing is just a perfect example of how you probably think you've got us all figured out... we'll see about that 😉 So don't go acting like you're smarter than everyone else on this board, because I seriously doubt it. Why? Because these guys have bailed me out of trouble at least ten times. And I mean BIG problems. You just showed up. For starters, why don't you actually answer the question I asked you over in the Windows 7 thread?

That’s actually pretty sweet to hear. Honestly, everything I’ve heard about 64-bit Windows has been so trash that I hadn't even considered making the jump until today 😂 But hey, they didn't really know how to handle framework installations back then anyway, so let's just move on from that ☕

The rig is actually flying on Windows XP SP3, honestly... performance-wise, it's solid based on those specs I gave you earlier. But hey, if there's a way to squeeze out even more speed, why wouldn't I? I'm definitely pulling the trigger on Windows 7 regardless, so now I'm just torn between 32 or 64-bit...
