Just a heads up for next time, if you're replying to a bunch of people at once, you should probably use the multi-quote option (that little icon right next to the 'quote' button), that way all the messages you select get lumped into one single post so it doesn't look like a total mess when people try to read it.
thanks, 😁 but I still don't get what you mean... I just have this QUOTE 🤷

If you can track down all the drivers, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't just give Windows 7 a shot... 🙂
And look, if things go south, you can always roll back to Windows XP, but honestly, I think Windows 7 should run totally fine on that setup... 👍
Windows 7 should run pretty smoothly with 2GB of RAM😉 and man, I had a seriously crappy processor and everything, but as long as I had decent 2GB of RAM, it worked just fine...
Raymond Stewart87 said:I really need some help here, my laptop keeps restarting itself like clockwork every two hours and it just won't stop... when it goes down I get this BSOD that says "end of nt evaluation period" and I was wondering if there's some little program or something I can just install to fix it without having to wipe everything... I've been googling forever but all I find is stuff telling me to just do a clean install of Windows 7, which is the last thing I want to do. Thanks.
Hey, check your settings, maybe you've got Windows 7 or Windows XP set up where under properties then screen saver there's an option enabled to automatically shut down the PC, so that might be what's causing your headache 😉

Everything looks totally clean in the Device Manager except for the audio driver, but that makes sense since I'm using an external sound card and Windows doesn't have the specific drivers for it.
I was wondering though, do I actually need to go out of my way to install the latest chipset drivers released after the ones Windows 7 provided for my motherboard...
The board is an ASUS P7P55D ddr3
honestly if you've got a dedicated GPU I'd say just grab the official drivers straight from the manufacturer's site because I did that myself and it saved me from all those annoying issues where games wouldn't run right... 🙂

P.S.: A system restore isn't gonna do squat, because right after that I went ahead and used Disk Cleanup to wipe out a bunch of junk from my hard drive just to free up some room on my C: drive, managed to claw back about 18GB of space 🙂
hey, if I'm tripping, someone please set me straight, but it says amd64 there so maybe you're running an Intel chip instead... that might be why. if I'm wrong though, feel free to call me out, and sorry if this is already sorted, I just saw the thread and figured I'd throw my two cents in just in case hehe
Hey everyone, I’ve got a quick question about Windows 7. Honestly, I didn't have the patience to dig through all 200+ pages of this forum to see if someone already asked this lol... anyway, I wanted to know if there's actually a massive difference between the two, and which one would be better if I'm just using my rig for browsing the web and gaming—is it Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate? And more importantly, why? Right now, I'm running Windows 7 Professional with DX11 and everything is running smooth as hell, but I was just wondering if it might be worth upgrading to Ultimate for some extra edge... looking for some real answers here, so if anyone can help me out, please let me know. Thanks!
