Just adding some context so this makes sense.
I had symptoms: 104 F fever, chills, chest pain when breathing...
The doctor called it atypical pneumonia, and once I finished the antibiotics, everything cleared up.
But those terms at the bottom of the lab report—leukocytosis, lymphopenia, and monocytosis—they've got me spinning. 🤔
My WBC is 10.9, while the normal range is 3.4-9.7.
What’s the deal with high monocytes and neutrophils but low lymphocytes?
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Looking for a solid GP recommendation near West Health Center,
maybe around the Barun Filipović Approach or Runjaninov area.
Main thing is I need someone who actually treats patients like actual human beings...
Kevin Garcia12 said:Did they do a urethral swab?

Nope. Just spent all this time waiting on a urine culture thinking it'd actually catch something so I could finally get some antibiotics... then they tell me everything looks fine. 🙄
Dealing with some issues when I pee—not constant, but enough... thought maybe it triggered my joints too, like reactive arthritis. But the urine tests and cultures come back clean.
🤷

My throat started acting up too. Started hurting a few days after that throat swab. It was brutal... barely able to swallow. No cough, no sniffles, just pain.
Had a fever over 100 and the chills right before.
My doctor didn't even care because the throat swab from five days prior supposedly came back clear. 🤷
Now that the throat thing cleared up on its own after about a week, the swelling in my ankles is finally going down day by day.
Is it possible I had strep even if the lab report said Group A beta-hemolytic strep wasn't isolated?
Or maybe when they took the swab it was just starting and they couldn't pick it up yet? The pain kicked in 2 or 3 days later.
And get this—the lab results had my name on them, but the wrong birth year.
They just brushed it off, saying it's definitely mine but those kinds of mistakes happen "all the time."
Honestly makes me wonder if it was even my report to begin with. 🙂

Ran every test under the sun hoping to figure out what's wrong, ended up with zero answers, and now everything is just fading away on its own... 🤷
Just got my urine culture results back and it says:

Test: Urine - aerobic bacteriological and mycological

Microbiological findings:

Physiological urethral flora - what's that supposed to mean? 😕
Angela Wright said:Just realized you probably have some kind of bladder infection.

What data is even showing that?
Maria Fisher46 said:Doesn't really look like gout to me. Based on the symptoms and history... maybe reactive arthritis instead, like the other doc suggested.

Should probably run some tests for chlamydia and mycoplasma, but gotta be from a urethral swab or urine sample.

Any issues with your eyes lately—like conjunctivitis—or maybe some diarrhea recently?

Nope. 🤷
OBGYN swabs came back clean, no issues there.
Just adding some more context to my diagnosis. It’s weird that my urinalysis looks fine because I've been having trouble peeing, plus last month my kidney was killing me... had a fever and chills too.
For the last two weeks, my ankles have been super swollen, like they're just full of fluid. They're red and sore if you touch them. 😢
It was actually making it hard to walk lately, especially first thing in the morning when I get up. I also had edema around my knees and shins, but that cleared up.
Now my legs and shins just ache, mostly when I'm sitting for more than 40 minutes.
Doctors are clueless. I've already hit up two different hospitals and my primary care doc. 🙄
Throat swab came back clean, lungs are fine too.
I was really hoping it was something urinary-related, so fingers crossed the urine culture actually catches something. Is it possible for a standard urinalysis to look normal but the culture shows an infection?
Read somewhere that ESR can be high with rheumatic fever or rheumatoid arthritis—basically just any kind of inflammation in the body. 😕
I'm in my early 20s.

Also, what's the deal with RDW? Mine is 13.4, but the ref range is 14.6 - 16.5.
Can someone make sense of this for me...

Lab hematology... just more numbers to stare at...

SE 42
erythrocytes 4.53...
RDW 13.4... fine.
Hemoglobin 131... alright.
Hematocrit 0.398...
MCV 87.9... alright.
MCH 28.8... fine I guess.
MCHC 329... nothing special. Just numbers on a page.
Platelets at 352...
WBC 6.7...
Neutrophil granulocytes at 60.6... nothing crazy, I guess. Just another number on the page...
Lymphocytes at 30.4...
MID 9.0

Metabolites and substrates...

glucose 5.2...
Bilirubin 12.4... damn.
Urea 4.1...
Creatinine 71...
Urea 278...

Enzymes...
AST 13... fine.
ALT 12

Urinalysis physical and chemical profile...

Appearance—clear...
Color—light yellow...
pH 5...
Specific gravity—1.020...
Glucose levels look normal...
Bilirubin at 0... nothing there...
Ketones at 2.5 mmol/l... not great...
RBC/Hb... zero...
Protein levels... zero.
Urobilinogen levels... normal.
Nitrites—0...
leukocyte 0...

Urinalysis... microscopic sediment exam.

erythrocytes 0-2...
leukocyte 2-4...
squamous epithelium 2...
Mucus 3
Soli 1

My sedimentation rate is up... sitting at 42, while the lab says anything over 24 is out of range. Just great...
Still waiting on those urine culture results... Is it actually possible for them to come back messy even though my GP told me everything looked totally fine?...
Leukocytes are at 2 - 4, ref range is 0 - 2... barely even worth mentioning. 😕
Can someone break down what a liver function test actually looks for?
Back in my early 20s, I was dealing with some urological issues, and along with the liver panel, they had me doing a urine culture and checking my CRP levels.
Now my leg joints have been aching and swollen for a few days... could that be from some kind of inflammation? Doctors at the hospital couldn't give me a straight answer, even though my blood work and chest X-rays came back normal.
Package was delivered Thursday, still haven't seen the cash hit my account... since it's the weekend now, I guess I'll probably see it Monday? 🤔
Just one more thing... everything's done and the person got their package.
Will the mailman bring the cash right to my door, or am I gonna have to swing by the post office?
I got that yellow and black receipt slip...
Zachary Peterson6 said:I mean, regarding $6.75, you just write the sender and receiver normally on the package, but the only weird part is on when you use a money order, you put the recipient's info where the sender should be...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Thanks! 🙂
Thanks, any idea what shipping might run me? Sending it out to the Midwest, package is about 200g... Since it’s COD, when I'm filling out the form at the post office under "sender," do I put my info or the person I'm sending it to? They're sending me the cash, so technically I'm the recipient, right?
So, I need a little help here since this is my first time actually mailing a package through the mail service.
It’s just a book packed in a big yellow envelope, and we agreed that the recipient handles all the shipping costs.
My question is, what am I supposed to tell the clerk at the FedEx counter?
Do I tell them it’s a shipment with COD, where the recipient pays everything upon delivery?
The book itself is priced at $17. Also, do I have to pay anything upfront at the counter if the receiver is covering the postage? I'll probably have to fill out some paperwork there too... so what amount should I list, the $50 plus $6.75 for shipping? 🤷
Getting a mammogram at a younger age? in Women's Health ·
At what age should I get my first mammogram if there's a family history of it?
I read somewhere they don't suggest doing them for women under 27 because the images can come out blurry
due to all that dense breast tissue.
Then again, I've heard stories—and seen it too—of girls getting breast cancer as young as 23 or 24.😢

Pregnancy isn't really an option... we're being super careful + always using protection
Truth is, I've been under massive stress this month, so maybe that's why...
Normally the telltale sign for me is sore breasts, but this time they aren't sore, just tight... which worries me since the pain is missing this time... ugh... feeling pressure in my stomach, but nothing's happening...🙄😢
Hate it when it's late, and now I'm losing my mind over it... ugh...🤦
