I’m really looking for some advice because I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed and honestly just lost on what to do next...

So, my son is ten now, and his upper permanent teeth are sticking out quite a bit. Actually, his entire upper jaw seems to protrude forward—it's at the point where you could almost fit a thumb's width between his top and bottom teeth when he bites down.

At our local community clinic, they gave him this removable appliance, but it was honestly the worst kind imaginable. It’s one of those single-piece things that requires him to consciously hold his jaws together just to keep it from slipping. They told us he needs to wear it about 14 hours a day, otherwise, it won't do anything. But with that specific device, he can barely even swallow his saliva normally, and the second he falls asleep, his jaw muscles relax and the whole thing just pops right out of his mouth. It felt like it wasn't serving any real purpose at all.

Because of that, I decided to get a second opinion at a private dental center. The orthodontist there told us that there’s actually no need for a removable appliance right now; instead, he should get fixed braces around age 13, which would correct everything very quickly.

Then, I happened to chat with another mom whose child is in the same class as my son. She’s actually an orthodontist herself, and she told me he URGENTLY needs a removable appliance because his condition is going to get worse if we wait. I explained what the specialists at the private clinic (which, by the way, is one of the top-tier dental centers in the country) had told us, but she insisted they were wrong and that he needs to start with a removable one immediately!

So, yeah, I'm asking for help—does anyone have any advice on how I should handle this? 😕
Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are different types of removable appliances? Nothing like that clunky single-piece one we got at the local clinic, but maybe something that just fits over the upper teeth without needing to be held in place by the bottom jaw? Something that looks a bit more like permanent braces?

I handle all my reading and posting exclusively on my iPhone, but whenever I actually need to upload photos to Craigslist, I have to switch over to my computer. And honestly, it’s becoming a total nightmare. Even as I’m typing this out on my phone, I can see my desktop sitting there, just staring at a loading screen for the Craigslist site for a full minute already!!! For goodness sake...!!!! Please, just get something better working soon! You can't just leave it like this, can you?

There’s still one thing that’s driving me a little crazy, though. When I’m browsing the forum on my iPhone using Tapatalk over Wi-Fi, everything feels snappy and works perfectly fine. But the second I sit down at my desktop computer? It’s an absolute disaster!

Everything has gone downhill over the last week! I honestly can’t wrap my head around what shifted so drastically in just seven days. There is no way the server suddenly "aged out" overnight, and there's no way our user count quintupled out of nowhere either! Obviously, something else is going on behind the scenes... but I just don't have the patience to spend my afternoon clicking through endless tabs trying to hunt it down.🙂
