Monitor buying guide (mega-thread) in Computer Peripherals ·
Hey, would this monitor be alright to hook up to my Xbox One? I'm working with a pretty tight budget here, but honestly, it looks like a solid deal for what you get.

Anxiety is such a beast. It could totally be a thyroid issue, but honestly, I’ve dealt with all those exact same symptoms just from being anxious myself.

Don't let it get to you; you'll be fine. 😁

Thanks so much, you really helped me chill out 🙂.

I accidentally popped two Cipralex pills instead of just one earlier today. Is anyone else worried about what might happen to me?
Steven Sanchez77 said:My cheeks have been bright red for four hours now—honestly, I look like I swallowed a bottle of hot sauce. Why is this happening? I just ate two breakfast burritos and suddenly my face is flushing like crazy. If anyone else deals with this, please let me know what you know!

Could just be high blood pressure?
Aetna supplemental insurance in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Does this plan cover hospital bills directly, kind of like how Aetna works? Or am I looking at paying upfront and then filing for a reimbursement later?

My psychiatrist put me on Lexapro today (along with all my other drugs 😁), and I was wondering if it's something I can just pick up at the pharmacy along with everything else?
What has your experience been like with it? 🙂

I actually take the generic version, Elicea, and honestly, it’s been a total game changer for me. I finally feel like myself again without all those crazy panic attacks and anxiety hanging over my head. I think the brand-name stuff costs money, but you can usually get the generic for free through insurance.

I guess it’s not even about the actual dollar amount, it’s more about the principle of the thing. Like, if your employer or the government is already covering your basic health insurance and you're paying out of pocket for extra coverage on top of that, it just feels totally unfair to be hit with even more fees.

I don't have a toddler, but I've got two kids in school—one in college, one in high school—plus others, though I won't get into all that here. Mortgages, a big house, working two jobs... it's not weird that I'm anxious and on edge. It's a cycle: I'm frustrated that I can't shake the fear, I'm overwhelmed by work, and then I just spin my wheels. Which AT&T are you on? And when does the anxiety usually hit? Maybe you mentioned it before, I forget.

I just sent you a DM 🙂. For the most part, I'm on Lexapro. In the beginning, the anxiety was pretty much constant throughout the day, but lately, it mostly hits me in the mornings and evenings, while I actually felt somewhat steady during the daytime...

What’s your diagnosis, though? If St. John's Wort did the trick for your anxiety, why are you on antidepressants? Is it for depression or something else?

I deal with anxiety and panic attacks. Honestly, I started taking AT&T specifically for those attacks because I read somewhere that Lexapro works wonders. My neurologist actually prescribed it about six months ago, but back then, my anxiety was through the roof, and since I have a massive phobia of swallowing pills, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. To be fair, the herbal stuff really did help, but I feel like I’m still just missing that final piece of the puzzle to completely kill off this anxiety—especially those panic attacks. They don't happen all the time, maybe once a week late at night, but they absolutely drain me for days afterward 😢. So, I decided to finally give AT&T a shot and see how things go over the next couple of months. Since I feel like I'm already mostly on the mend, I'm hoping the treatment won't have to last nearly as long as if I were starting from rock bottom.
Maybe I'm just being impatient, but I really can't afford to be sick or stuck in this headspace right now. I'm getting my kid enrolled in school and hunting for a job, so I just need to power through everything. I've got people counting on me—my little one depends on me, and with the rest of the family dealing with mortgage payments, finding work is pretty much my top priority.

Dennis Turner6 said:I’ve got some lemon verbena tea on hand, and honestly, it’s not bad—it helps me chill out a bit.

But I think I'll give that motherwort a shot too.

You mentioned Aktivin H? Alright, I'm adding that to my list.😬

Anything else you guys recommend?

By the way, Brandon Lopez6... is that sleepiness from Helex or something else? I just want to be able to sleep normally.😢

Aktivin is basically just St. John's Wort in pill form, so just a heads up—don't take both at once. Stick to either the tea or the tablets. Fingers crossed it works for you! Personally, I'm on day 10 of my antidepressants right now, and so far, so good. But honestly, St. John's Wort almost totally cleared up my anxiety for me—cut it down by at least 80%.

Brandon Lopez6 said:I’m definitely thinking about giving that a shot. I feel pretty terrible right now, and honestly, I'm in no position to deal with the side effects of switching to a new AT&T.

I've got my fingers crossed for you, hope it helps soon. Just a heads up, it usually takes a week or two before you really start feeling the difference, so I'd suggest sticking to three cups a day at first and then dropping down to two once you settle in. I used to pair mine with a couple of cups of lemon balm tea too—it's amazing for chilling out, especially right before you hit the hay.

Brandon Lopez6 said:I think I’ll just hit up a different pharmacy. Honestly, I don't even want to ask questions, I just want to grab what I need and get out. Or maybe I'll just send my mom to this one since I really can't face that lady again—it feels like they only have two people working there and both were out at once today, probably some shift change thing.

By any logic, if an antidepressant works alongside something like Xanax, then a natural supplement should theoretically work too. I'm willing to just wing it and try it on my own; if I mess up, I'm the one who deals with the fallout, not anyone else.😬

And look, I spent six months taking St. John's Wort along with some Lexapro whenever I needed it. It didn't do anything bad to me—if anything, my anxiety actually felt a lot more manageable.

Brandon Lopez6 said:Because I asked her first if it was okay to take alongside my anxiety meds, and she said no. So I told her I was gonna take it anyway, and then she started making this big deal about how she couldn't sell it to me. People behind me in line were starting to get restless, just tapping their feet and looking at me, so I just went, "Thanks, bye," and walked out.

I honestly don't get the logic there at all. I’ve picked stuff up without any issues before. I mean, herbal remedies are basically nature's antidepressants, right? It makes zero sense that they wouldn't mix with calming pills but "chemical" antidepressants are totally fine. Maybe try a different CVS or Walgreens somewhere else.

Brandon Lopez6 said:Is it safe to mix St. John's Wort with Helex? 🤔
I've been digging through a few different sites, and I only found one mention saying you shouldn't take them together, but it didn't actually explain why. Since I'm planning on starting a St. John's Wort regimen, I want to be 100% sure about what's safe to pair with it and what isn't.

It's fine 🙂. I've taken it alongside Xanax before without any issues. Just don't mix it with antidepressants. It's kind of like how you wouldn't want to drink valerian root tea if you're already taking prescription sedatives.

I’m only on day four of taking Lexapro and I honestly don't feel anxious at all. Is that even a thing? To be fair, I was almost through the worst of it just using St. John's Wort tea, but then everything started sliding backward so I figured I'd give the Lexapro a shot. After dealing with some pretty nasty side effects for the first couple of days, I ended up coming down with a brutal cold, but now that it's day four, even though I still feel under the weather, the anxiety and that heavy chest pressure have just completely vanished...

Paul Newman5 said:The tingling and panic attacks started for me too, though luckily I didn't have your medical history. I'll vouch for how anxiety and dread can own a person; I'm going through it myself, especially the anxiety. Good luck with the AT&T. Hopefully the side effects die down soon. People here say Lexapro is solid and praise it on the forums. Hang in there, you'll see how it goes in a few days. Good luck.😉

Thanks so much! Honestly, I was trying to dodge the meds entirely and just stuck to chamomile tea, and for a little while, I thought I had actually beaten it, but the anxiety is creeping back in and I'm just done playing games with my own head—it's time to give the medication a real shot. I was always a bit wary of taking pills since I feel like I've swallowed enough medication in my life to sink a ship, but honestly, taking something for a few months is way better than staying in this headspace where my body feels completely wiped out and I'm catching every little bug going around... Sending all the good vibes back your way! 🙂

Paul Newman5 said:A PCP prescribing that? Surprised they even would. Mine wouldn't touch it. When I started, I thought these things worked like antibiotics—take them and you're cured—but clearly not. Stick with it for a few more days and see. What did you feel like when your doctor gave you AT&T instead of sending you to a psychiatrist? Sorry if you don't want to talk about it, I'm still pretty new to all this, the illness, and dealing with AT&T, so just curious.

My neurologist was the one who put me on Lexapro, so my primary doctor is just following her lead. As for Elon Musk, my doctor gave me that because Normabell was basically turning me into a zombie. For me, all these symptoms kicked in right after I lost my job; it started with tingling in my hands and feet, then dizziness, and eventually this weird numbness on one side of my face. Since I've already survived an aneurysm and two brain tumor surgeries, the doctors were initially terrified that everything was coming back, but after an MRI and a bunch of other tests, they diagnosed it as recurrent depression and my neurologist prescribed Lexapro. They probably didn't bother sending me to a psychiatrist because they already knew exactly where all this was coming from. Eventually, it spiraled into anxiety and full-blown panic attacks, and honestly, I tried treating myself with herbal tea because I was so against taking antidepressants, and while it helped a lot, I can still feel that anxiety lurking. So now, I’ve decided to finally bite the bullet and go the "chemical" route to kill it off for good—basically just so I can function normally while I hunt for a new job. I really hope it works, because this constant tightness in my chest is absolutely wrecking me, both physically and mentally.

Larry Campbell said:Every single medication carries side effects, including antidepressants. You just started, so you have to give the medicine a fair shot. During my first week, I felt like I was losing my mind... nausea, dizziness, diarrhea—I couldn't even keep food down. It was absolute hell. Just use the Helex when it becomes truly unbearable and hang in there; it gets better once you find the right antidepressant.
Good luck.😉

Thanks so much! Up until now, I've mostly been sticking to herbal remedies, which helped quite a bit, but I'm still not feeling like myself. I don't really have any other choice but to give Lexapro a shot. I'll just power through the rough patches if it means I'll feel better down the road...

Paul Newman5 said:I was on Lexapro, which is basically the same thing. I had to stop because it hit me just as hard—it sent me through the roof, couldn't sit still, and I was practically popping Lexapro just to try and settle down. It was terrible. Not just dizzy, but totally manic. Same thing happened with Lexet. Now I'm on day 8 of Coaxil. Side effects were just some headaches and diarrhea for the first three days, plus that constant fear that this one won't work like the last two antidepressants. So far, so good, but who knows... too early to tell. Still, there are people here who swear by Elice or Lexapro, so maybe someone else will chime in. For me, it was so bad, I was so manic that I told myself on day 5 to just stop.

Thanks for sharing. My doctor at the Mayo Clinic prescribed it, but instead of calming me down, it's actually cranking up my anxiety, leaving me totally wiped out, exhausted, and dealing with headaches and diarrhea. I gave my doctor a call, and they just told me I've only been on it for two days and need to give it a fair shot, unless I start feeling aggressive. They did put me on some Helex to help tide me over until things settle down. Man, I really hope this works for me... I had no idea these meds could hit you this hard. I'm in my 40s now and I think I've probably gone through maybe three boxes of Normabal in my entire life, so my body isn't exactly used to taking stuff for anxiety and all that, which is probably why it's reacting so strongly. 🙂
