Sex myths: What's actually true? in Women's Health ·
placidlynx26 said:And you’re really out here thinking you have the authority to go around editing someone else's comments... cute.

Look, just so we're all on the same page here—I haven't touched anyone else's posts. Not a single one. Seriously. 🙂

placidlynx26 said:I’m officially checking out, folks... they actually pulled it off. They won. So, I’m heading out now to go have a baby—one that I sincerely hope learns how to actually function in life after the honeymoon phase wears off.

Ugh, my little girl isn't exactly going to "learn" how to handle sex, so if she just drinks her fill, there's no way she's getting pregnant... 😁

Hey there! Big shoutout to everyone! 😁

So now you're suddenly a woman? 🙄

placidlynx26 said:unless we’re all just a bunch of idiots who don't even know our own anatomy without a college degree, it's pretty hard to imagine escaping the same cycle over and over. 🤷

And as for the other part... bacteria and sperm apparently have "goals" too?? Good luck to them if they actually have a brain the size of yours. 😘

I mean, let's be real, babies were being born way before anyone ever dreamed up a medical degree. ☕
Even today, you've got OB-GYNs out there actually doing the work and delivering kids.

Sure, sperm have a job to do—fertilizing an egg, right? Isn't that one of those basic things they teach you in school? (Honestly, I'm not even sure which level of intellect I'm talking to here: a high schooler, someone with a PhD, or some third category entirely 🤷).

But hey, don't worry about my brain. 😍
Even this little thing is smarter than you think. 🙄

placidlynx26 said:Are you seriously forgetting that sperm resulting from damage to the urethra can end up right in front of the vaginal opening? It’s basically just like bacteria at that point. 🙂

I honestly don't even get what they're trying to say here... Like, how can someone walk around with a college degree and still not know how to speak American? Give me a break. 😕

From what I gather, the whole goal for sperm is basically a marathon run through the vaginal canal, heading straight for the uterus, and finally aiming for that sweet spot in the first third of the fallopian tubes.

Or maybe I don't even know. 😉

2. Regarding the whole peeing thing... I'm not sure if you've ever even heard of the basic law of cohesion, which clearly shows that it's all about "establishing a bond" and keeping particles "together"... so, by the law of cohesion, urine is present in all parts of the reproductive system --> urine in the area of seminal fluid has a fatal effect on sperm --> how? <-- urea 😉

Regarding the bold part:
Seminal fluid contains glucose, which allows sperm to nourish themselves after ejaculation; this way, sperm can survive for 7-10 days in the male reproductive system, and 2-5 days in the female system due to changing conditions.

Oh wow, let's all just shower in this high-brow vocabulary...
I don't think the "law of cohesion" is going to cause some piss to spontaneously leap out of a toilet bowl and crawl into another opening just to bond with vaginal cells...
Seriously, stop trying to lecture us all with your "smart" talk and throwing around Latin terms for pussy because you're flat-out wrong. Maybe urea kills sperm, but it's NEVER, and I mean NEVER, going to wash semen out of a vagina... and it's definitely not making it impossible for a girl or a woman to get pregnant because of that.

And one more thing: you don't need to keep repeating facts about how long sperm survives just so you can teach us how they "eat" via glucose...

Seriously, this whole thing is just bedtime stories for toddlers—it hasn't got a single shred of connection to reality. Honestly, half the comments on here are just pure gibberish anyway... I really hope they finally get some decent sex ed into the public school curriculum soon! It’s about time.

Amen to that! 🙂

So, apparently, we’re just supposed to believe a woman starts feeling pregnant symptoms after only five days? Seriously? At this rate, I might just pull a trigger on myself, I swear to God!

Go ahead, everyone, just keep on having kids since you clearly think you've got it all figured out and nothing can prove you wrong. Enjoy being the smartest people in the room while you do it.
Oh sure, because taking a shower totally cancels out pregnancy. Yeah, that makes perfect sense... definitely!!! -.-

Goodnight, everyone. You know that old saying goes: enough is enough for the smart ones!

Honestly, God bless any woman out there dealing with bladder issues while trying to conceive, especially if she’s stressing about showering... seriously, the water from your shower isn't going to cause protein coagulation, unless you're planning on bathing in lava at like 212 degrees.

Let's just say I'm feeling a bit more chill about it now.

Look, there's really nothing to worry about🙂 ... seriously, for both your sake and your girl's, I'm begging you to do a little more research so you don't run into this kind of panic again.🙂
Trust me, peeing or hopping in the shower after sex isn't going to kill any sperm or whatever other myths you stumble upon online... just be smarter about it next time and you'll be fine!

Good luck with the relationship.

That’s exactly why I’m saying there is zero chance she ended up pregnant... I mean, how many women would actually get pregnant just from skin contact? Plus, if she hasn't even reached climax yet, it’s pretty much impossible for anything to actually make its way inside her 😁

I’m not even going to get into it, I’ll just say you're being incredibly naive here.. :/

First off, what she was rambling about makes absolutely zero sense—and for the record, urine does NOT kill sperm!!! Seriously, where on earth are you people picking up this "knowledge"?? Did you just step out of the shower and decide this was a thing??? Like, what does that have to do with basic common sense???
But look, don't stress yourself out too much; the chances of her being pregnant are practically non-existent, period.
Sleep tight!!!

So, here’s the deal: urine is acidic, and acidity is basically kryptonite for sperm. Since guys are working with just one single plumbing line for both peeing and ejaculating, the body has to play defense. It pumps out a little bit of pre-ejaculate—or, if we're being blunt, pre-cum—to neutralize whatever acidic urine residue is lingering in the urethra. That’s actually why you might notice a damp spot on your jeans when you're getting worked up; it's just your body prepping for action. Plus, that fluid is super slippery, acting as a built-in lubricant for when things actually start happening.

Honestly, I’m a little lost on why you used the word "all" in your question. I feel like there's some hidden layer to what you're asking that I'm totally missing. Also, let's clear the air on this one: there's this massive myth going around that if a girl pees right after sex, she won't get pregnant. That is total nonsense. A woman's urethra and her vagina are two completely different exits. Peeing isn't going to wash away or destroy the sperm already inside her. If you want to dive into more nonsense like that, check out "Getting Too Close" for a list of other myths that just don't hold water.

And hey, I've definitely done my homework on this stuff too!!! Thanks for the question.
