Coffee: yay or nay? in Health ·

I'm not criticizing you at all...🙂 I'm just celebrating the fact that you're still standing after consuming that much caffeine... oops, did you even get a chance to work on your tan??😉 (NHF)

I was knocking back maybe 2 or 3 liters a day. But man, I needed it. ☕
It wasn't even the exhaustion that kept me from drinking it—it was just the smell and the taste. Though, I gotta brag a little: I’ve been clean for six months now (well, excluding a spoonful or two on Sundays, but we don't count Sundays, right?).

😲😲God, you're alive!!!

Alright, I guess we won't be offering you any coffee then...🙂
I mean, God knows I don't smoke, so a cigarette isn't really my thing to pair with a cup anyway... when I'm having coffee, I'd much rather have the news, my laptop, the TV... good company, plenty of juicy gossip...

Carl Thompson6 said:So, can you actually "cure" flat feet for good, or is it really just about making things more comfortable?

Honestly, I'm not an expert or anything—definitely leave that to the specialists—but I don't think we're talking about a total "cure" here. It’s more about keeping the whole thing under control so it doesn't spiral, you know? Like, I didn't take care of myself back in the day because I figured there wasn't much anyone could do... and man, I paid for it. If I'd been smarter, my feet probably still wouldn't be perfect, but at least I wouldn't have all this extra damage piled on top. Plus, if you happen to put on some weight, it just puts even more stress on your arches and really speeds up that downward slide... Just my two cents, anyway. I'm sure one of those orthopedic surgeons can give you the clinical breakdown, but this is just what I've lived through...

Man, that is so true....
But ☕ is ☕ just so amazing to smell... especially that first ☕ in the morning....☕😍

Daniel White5 said:I'm 19 years old and I still deal with flat feet. Because of that, my knees tend to cave inward quite a bit when I walk.
If I start a consistent exercise routine now, could I actually improve my knee alignment?
Or am I already too late? 😕

Look, just fix what you can, okay? You aren't too old to start making some changes when it comes to your health—seriously, don't even go there! Just do whatever works for you—get some movement in, watch what kind of shoes you’re wearing, whatever—just please, be careful. Because those flat feet issues? They always come back to haunt you in different ways. It’s like what you were saying—it hits your knees, then moves up to your spine, then your neck... it's a whole chain reaction. And honestly, that stubborn fat buildup on the inner thighs? A lot of that is just because of poor posture or how your legs are aligned at the top—since the muscles end up relaxing way more than they actually should—and then your hips take the brunt of it. I could go on and on about this all day, but my point is: just do what you need to do, but please, look after yourself...

Dana Miller2 said:.... It’s basically the one and only addiction I'm actually rocking right now 😁—it's my morning ritual and honestly just a total vibe.

Ugh, look, I totally get what you mean about the headaches, but I wasn't really talking about the whole "withdrawal crisis" side of things... What I'm saying is, sure, we *can* live without it if we want to, but if we decide to quit coffee, we’re gonna have to power through those withdrawal symptoms first. Once that storm passes, then yeah, we can go caffeine-free... Trust me, I've been there—the pounding headaches, the mood swings, all of it—but I pushed through. Honestly? I started drinking it again because I just love it. It tastes great, smells amazing, and it’s part of my routine—me and my laptop every morning, and then later in the day, catching up with my husband (though I'm hanging out with him less often lately since he gulps his down way too fast for my liking). So, yeah, I know it's addictive, but if you actually have the willpower and truly want to quit, you can beat any addiction—you'll figure it out, as long as you're determined enough. Right now, I'm also in the middle of trying to shed some extra pounds, so I'm suffering on pretty much every front... but hey, even that makes sense in the grand scheme of things.🙂

Kenneth Jackson30 said:I swear, I’m never going to fully wrap my head around this whole coffee addiction thing—like, seriously. I mean, I’ve been knocking back maybe ten cups a day for the last month straight, so how could I possibly be hooked? It just doesn't make sense to me!🤷

Addiction is honestly such a mental game... I mean, look at us coffee lovers—we all know deep down we could totally function without our morning fix, but we spend half our lives convincing ourselves that we’d actually die without it. It's all in the head, really.😉 ☕ Because we love 'em... simple as that.
So, I’ve been having this weird thing lately—I drink coffee every single morning, but for the last couple of weeks or so, it just hasn't been hitting the spot like it used to... you know? Like, the magic is gone. I’ve actually started cutting out my afternoon cup altogether, but here's the kicker: whenever I’m out grabbing brunch or hanging with my girlfriends, my brain just starts screaming for something else entirely. I can't stop thinking about a super sweet vanilla latte—you know, the kind with extra sugar and a heavy dusting of cinnamon on top. Honestly, once that craving hits, I might as well give up on regular coffee altogether... how am I supposed to resist that? 🤷 Just sitting here, sipping on my coffee... you know, that little ritual I have before I even think about touching breakfast.

Charles Cox60 said:So, I’ve finally started this new job and the early mornings are hitting me hard—and since I don't touch caffeine, I’m genuinely curious... for those of you who grab a cup first thing in the morning, ☕is it just a ritual or does it actually keep you awake? Because personally, I start crashing right around the two-hour mark.

Coffee is great if you have low blood pressure, but honestly, the whole "it keeps you alert" thing feels like a bit of a myth... I mean, maybe a tiny bit, but it's not like you're a zombie without it. If you aren't a drinker, don't start now! For me, it's just about the flavor—I love it because it tastes good. If you're looking for a little boost to get you through that two-hour slump, maybe try some chocolate or even just some fruit? Apparently, Vitamin C takes a little longer to process, so it might help keep you from nodding off. Just my two cents based on years of trial and error—definitely not a scientific study, so take it with a grain of salt!😉☕

......I don't even know how to put this into words, but my emoticons are acting totally wonky... sometimes a link just stays stuck there, and other times I end up with some random one I didn't even pick... like, instead of the jumping ones, I'll get one that's just hanging there...? It’s not like it’s the end of the world or anything, but I'd love to actually know what's going on... and honestly, the most annoying part is having to click the link just to see what emoji actually showed up... wtf? Can anyone help me out? thx
It's those emoticons from Cosgan's smilie...
