silentsurfer95 said:Hi there, I have a quick question about how long isolation actually lasts.
If it says my isolation goes until January 19th, does that mean it ends once that day hits, or am I still stuck inside on the 19th?
For context, I tested positive this past Tuesday, January 11th.

Without getting bogged down in the complexities of how they calculate these things—since their math can be a bit of a mess sometimes—when something is bolded like that in American English usage, it implies that the specific day mentioned is included within the timeframe, rather than being the cutoff point before it starts.
I assume you've planned on having the government foot the bill for that landline device, along with all the setup costs and those monthly service fees too? :lalaland:
I find myself wondering... will they actually follow the rules, just like those twenty thousand other citizens currently under mandate because they’ve been exposed? It includes roughly three-quarters of the total confirmed cases who have also been ordered into self-isolation rather than being held in hospital quarantine. Do I think they will comply? Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue. Perhaps they will, perhaps they won't. As for those twenty thousand people specifically? I simply don't know.
Isn't it the case that everyone was supposed to undergo two weeks of self-isolation, regardless of whether their tests came back negative?🤔

Do I actually need to notify some government agency or official somewhere, or is it just a matter of waiting out the two weeks until life goes back to normal and that’s that?

At a press conference today, the CDC mentioned that anyone who received an official notice from the health inspectors regarding their isolation needs to notify them when that period is ending so they can issue a formal release. On the other hand, those who were ordered into isolation by public health officials are supposed to contact the epidemiological department directly. It’s all a bit muddled, though. A friend of mine had police officers come by for a wellness check a week ago, and they told her she didn't need to notify anyone at all—that everything would just reset automatically once the 14 days were up. She actually spent several days trying to get a hold of someone from the local health department just to clarify the protocol, but she couldn't get through to anyone.😁

these guys are a bit sharp.

Wrap razor wire around every single house and see how that goes.

Implementing measures this way is dangerous. Someone out there could react in the heat of the moment, leading to injuries or something even worse.

Just a quick heads-up for everyone—local law enforcement is currently conducting checks to ensure those on the mandatory quarantine list are actually following the protocols.

I was just contacted by someone whose isolation period officially wraps up at midnight tonight, and they mentioned that officers actually showed up at their doorstep to perform a check.

Is this it?

Go up to the top menu bar, head over to the Search feature, and select the advanced search option. On the right side, under search by username, just type in your handle, and make sure you check the box right below it that says "find posts by user." Then, look down at the bottom left under search options; if it isn't already set to Sort Results in Ascending order, go ahead and switch it from being set in Descending. After that, check the Show Results by section and ensure 'Posts' is the one selected. Once you click Search Now, you'll see exactly what I mean here:

The text isn't being misrepresented; the author's words were simply copied from that link, which is the very link I provided.

Oh, please, it is definitely a copy-paste job. 🤣 It just happens to contain those specific snippets—purely by coincidence, I'm sure—that you find so useful for dismantling antisemitic remarks. 😁
Is this some sort of American branch of Goebbels' international school for communications? 🙂

Do you honestly believe people here haven't mastered reading comprehension, or are you just desperately hoping that's the case?

To suggest that the linked article—which explicitly labels Solzhenitsyn's early work as one-sided, biased, and written from the perspective of a Russian nationalist—is somehow comparable to your own post, you would have to be either incredibly dense, intentionally malicious, or perhaps a bit of both.
Did you honestly think no one would actually click the link and read what you're sharing?
