HP LaserJet 1300. What are your thoughts on this one? It uses toner, and I've got 13 cartridges on hand. Just picked up a used unit, so hopefully it serves its purpose...

I would appreciate some solid recommendations for a new printer—specifically the model type and an expected price range.
My current old Canon is such a money pit that the ink alone costs about $87... which is more than the device itself. Plus, I am done with manual refills.
Help me out... let's keep the prices reasonable... nothing over $500, though I know that sounds steep!!
