placidgull21 said:Does anyone have any idea when the rest of those 7xxx cards are actually dropping? I see Q1 listed for the release date. My guess is the 7850 should land somewhere around $150—so I’m thinking about grabbing one—but still...

I have a feeling the price tag on that card is going to be a bit higher than that... 🙂

wiredmaker33 said:Does anyone know where I can pick up the cheapest keyboard possible? Honestly, I don't care about quality—as long as the keys actually work, I'm good.

You can grab one for like 20 bucks$10 at pretty much any local Best Buy or even a Walmart... 🙂

rustysurfer79 said:Do you honestly think there’s a massive difference compared to the HP Envy 5000? Or that the whole 3.5 ml + 3.5 ml analysis actually changes anything significant? If you actually grasped my previous point, you could run this product through the exact same mathematical and logical function.

Anyway, if you're hunting for something in that same laser class—here’s something new to chew on for the New Year.
It's cheaper than a laser and faster than a laser—though we don't even have permanent cartridges for it yet. So, I guess the OEM purists will be happy enough.

I’m not "thinking" anything... I simply gave the guy a recommendation for a printer with Wi-Fi.😬
Though, honestly, if that Epson is any cheaper, it's a total beast.😁

In your opinion, which one actually offers the best value? I’m asking because you clearly know your stuff, and I’m planning an upgrade soon; I need something with either an Ethernet port or Wi-Fi...

I personally own the black version—looks a lot sleeker, honestly—and mine has Wi-Fi.

Warranty: 36 months $50

Where's the graphics card in all this?

The graphics are integrated into the processor—Robert Rodriguez2 already broke down the performance levels for you...
Here are the links for everything I listed in the specs—and yeah, that's without the DVD burner, the case, or the monitor... plus I swapped in faster RAM...
FREE SHIPPING!!! Amazon.com

TOTAL: $742
Just sign up, toss the items in your cart, hit order, and they'll have it at your door in maybe 2 or 3 days tops—the UPS guy just drops it off and you sign for it... 😉

That wasn't even what I was getting at...🤦

That’s basically the exact same thing you posted earlier.. honestly.
You're looking at a quad Core processor with integrated graphics—meaning you'll be able to run Spore, sure, and maybe some other titles on low to medium settings if you're feeling patient... The monitor looks decent enough to my eyes, which isn't saying much, but 😍 it doesn't cost a fortune either.

LG GH24NS70 DVD RW, 24x, SATA, Dual layer, black, bulk
Warranty: 24 months $45
500W power supply, Dell OptiPlex, ATX v2.2, 120mm fan, PFC
Warranty: 24 months $58
MS Industrial Gemini case, no PSU included$42
21.5" LCD AOC F22 PLUS monitor, 5ms, 300cd/m2, 60000:1, D-SUB, DVI, black, widescreen

Warranty: 24 months 426.87
TOTAL: $1065
Go ahead and grab it from Best Buy
and just ask a neighbor to put it together for you; then you can play Spore without any major headaches.
For that kind of money, including the monitor, it's probably about as good as you're going to get—especially if you can just reuse an old mouse and keyboard. ☕

- Table of Contents (TOC) numbering
- Page numbering in Microsoft Office
- Paragraph numbering in Microsoft Office

I appreciate the effort... though, honestly, I finally figured it out myself—just a bit of trial and error. You go to File, then Print, and then you just fiddle around with the various layout options under the view settings 😁
Good luck!

Rofa is basically making a fool out of me here—he’s actually insisting that I number every single page... easy enough... Every paragraph... easy enough... And now he wants every single line of text numbered too (as if anyone would actually care?)
Buying a 22" monitor in Computer Peripherals ·
Matthew Gray28 said:I’m looking to pick up a 22" monitor

with a budget of maybe $1,500 at most. $533

Mostly, I'm just looking for specific models or brands you guys might recommend—any particular brand that stands out?

Also, if anyone knows which retailer or online shop is the cheapest—and actually reliable, mind you—let me know.

I’ve done some digging and was leaning toward these two models initially, but honestly, there are so many options out there that I'm feeling completely stuck.

The Dell UltraSharp monitor is sitting around $915 to $1,100
while the Samsung model is roughly $453

but from what I can gather, the differences between these two seem pretty negligible.

Any advice would be appreciated. And don't feel limited to the two I mentioned above.

Thanks.

Dell is easily one of the top-tier manufacturers when it comes to computer hardware...
Go with an IPS panel—it'll save your eyes from unnecessary strain, plus you won't deal with color bleeding and you get much better contrast... $453 check Best Buy.
Something like Daemon Tools in Software ·
rowdystag16 said:I'm running into a bit of a snag—I need to get some new Windows installed, but Daemon Tools has completely quit on me, even after trying to reinstall it a few times. Does anyone know of a decent alternative to DT that can mount ISO files? I just need it to get this Windows 7 installation moving. Thanks.

It sounds like you’re hunting for something that does exactly what Daemon Tools used to do...
Give PowerISO a shot. It should handle those Windows installs without any of the usual headaches.

Yeah, you're definitely going to need a new PSU... I'd give you a solid recommendation right now, but I'm stuck on my phone and honestly, I don't have the patience to mess around with this at the moment.

George Alvarez3 said:Hey there.

I’ve got this old machine I’m looking to beef up with a new graphics card. It’s an aging system—honestly, even back in its heyday, the GPU was pretty bottom-of-the-barrel stuff. Given the current setup, my goal is to find something that actually makes sense—an "optimal" upgrade for gaming—so I can weigh the performance gains against the price tag. I have zero interest in pushing things too far; no bridging, no overclocking, just a clean, stable upgrade.

Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo
Motherboard: ASUS motherboard, F3 version, PCI Express, Link Width/Max Support: x16
Memory: DDR2, 4 GB 400 MHz
PSU: OCZ 700W, still running like it's brand new

Current GPU: GeForce 8500 GT

Any help would be appreciated.

Angela Foster5 said:Well, my plan is to $167 dump most of my budget into a GPU, and I was actually looking at picking up this one http://www.newegg.com/p/pdp/example-link

Is this overkill for my setup—specifically my CPU? Or should I just play it safe and grab something with less VRAM? 😉

Angela Foster5 said:Can someone please tell me which graphics card I should buy if I want to actually play modern games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or GTA 4?

My CPU is an Intel Pentium X2 250 at 3.00 GHz
RAM: 2 GB DDR3
And right now, I'm stuck using integrated graphics—which can barely even handle something as simple as Super Mario😉 so I really need to upgrade my GPU.

How much money are you actually planning to drop? Let me be blunt right out of the gate—don't even bother looking at anything priced over $150, if not less... Unless, of course, you're broke and can't afford a decent processor first.
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
James Fisher11 said:I’ve been staring at this listing for a while now—trying to make sense of what they’re actually offering here—and I have to say, it feels a bit like looking at a relic from a different era. It's one of those situations where you wonder if the person who wrote the description was even using a computer when they did it. The specs are... well, they're specific, I suppose. But looking at the hardware listed, it really makes you think about how much things have shifted. We aren't exactly living in the age of the Intel Pentium Dual-Core anymore, are we? Not unless you're trying to run a calculator from 2005. If you're actually considering picking this up for anything more demanding than checking your email, you might want to reconsider—unless, of course, you enjoy the feeling of waiting an eternity for a single webpage to load. That’s just my two cents, anyway. I tend to overthink these things—it's a bad habit, I know—but some things just don't add up when you look closely.

Just take my advice and stop asking questions—seriously. It’s blindingly obvious that you’re just looking to drop extra cash on some overpriced, unnecessary hardware that you don't actually need. That power supply James Fisher11 suggested? It’s more than enough for your setup—honestly, it's plenty.☕

Alright, alright... I've finally pulled the trigger and decided to go with the It’s basically identical to the GTS 450—and honestly, given how much I'd rather keep my cash for other things, I think this is going to be the smartest move for my wallet! 👍

I saw that specific ad over on Craigslist... though honestly, the fact that it only has 512MB is a bit of a dealbreaker for me.
