Rebecca Scott71 said:Don't sweat it too much. Honestly, if everyone went in for an MRI right now, I bet they'd all be told they have sclerosis. The human body isn't invincible; it wears down, and that's just how it works. I guess the real question is, how much does it actually hurt? Or is it just clicking? Because everyone gets some clicking. If there's no pain, you should probably start doing some strengthening exercises. It helps the muscles support the joint better, which might stop the clicking and keep things more stable. Just don't go too hard too fast, or you might make it worse. Once those muscles are stronger, it'll be easier on your other knee, too, since bad biomechanics can cause issues there. I really recommend the exercises—they work, you just have to be consistent. Good luck.
thanks for the support
My knee doesn't really hurt. I walk fine. Every once in a while I feel some dull ache or pressure, but it's rare.
What kind of knee exercises are we talking about?
Need some advice here
I've been diagnosed with lateral patellar compression syndrome and a narrow medial femoralpatellar joint space.
Basically, my knee buckles whenever I walk up stairs. It's been happening for a few months now, and occasionally it hurts a bit too.
The whole thing started during my pregnancy. At first, it was just an occasional buckle, but ever since I took a fall and slammed my knee against the edge of a step, it happens every single day.
What kind of treatment or therapy am I looking at? I live in a house, so stairs are unavoidable, and I really don't want to give up my independence.
Thanks
Yeah, you shouldn't take chondroitin while breastfeeding. Based on what I know, I guess it's possible to regenerate cartilage, but maybe it's complicated.
Also, can you explain some knee exercises? I don't live near Chicago, so I can't make it to any local classes.
My hair is thinning too, though I’m still eating pretty normally. I put everything in this one thread since they’re all just pregnancy side effects.
But is anyone actually having issues with their bones?
I drank a ton of milk during my pregnancy, but clearly, that didn't help.
My son is three months old now, and all of a sudden, I’m dealing with some knee cartilage issues.
It started clicking like crazy almost overnight. My doctor says my joints just wore down during pregnancy because of all the extra weight, and now I’m stuck with it. Apparently, I can only manage the symptoms from here on out. To make matters worse, I’ve been told to stop climbing stairs, which is a real problem since I live in a two-story house. I guess I just have to try not to wreck my knees any further.
No pain or anything. Just a loud clicking sound whenever I hit the stairs.
I can't use chondroitin. The label says it's not recommended for breastfeeding moms.
I'm taking calcium, but I guess we'll see if it actually does anything. Maybe.
The pharmacist calmed me down a bit. Said I'll recover from this eventually since I'm still young. I guess.
My teeth aren't really an issue, but the problem is similar—they just get worn down during pregnancy.
How’s it going for you guys? What actually works?
