Which BetMGM are we talking about?
If it's this one https://www.wwin.eu/sport/, the layout looks just like SS.
Oh, wait, I see the list of physical locations now.
Aren't there ATMs there?

Joshua Garcia8 said:Banks and card issuers have backend systems—whatever you want to call them—that handle these transactions. You punch in your PIN and the amount you want, and at that exact moment, the ATM or the bank pings someone like MasterCard X saying this card wants to withdraw Y dollars. If MasterCard declines, you get an error message; if they approve it, the cash comes out. That's basically it.

That’s the part I was missing in this whole thing. 👍
Is that a guarantee, though? 😁

Timothy Martin52 said:If there's money in your Skrill account or on the card, any ATM will recognize it and dispense cash, or a merchant will accept it if you're paying. The issue used to be—and I don't know if it's still a problem—that Skrill didn't offer a card for the US. At least that's how it was last time I checked.
It's the same deal as when some American, Norwegian, Brit, or Chinese person tries to pull cash or pay for something here in the States. 🙂

If what Joshua Garcia8 said is true, then we're all set. Might as well head over to Denver for a shopping spree! 🙂

Bryan Adams6 said:It's just a prepaid Mastercard from PayPal
You can only spend what's actually sitting in your account.

The problem is an ATM won't let you withdraw anything with a card like that if it can't verify your balance first.🤷

A few questions here:

Are these debit or credit cards?

It says: "you can only spend the money you have in your account."

So now I'm wondering—how does an ATM, say at JP Morgan Chase, actually know it's okay to hand over cash if it isn't a credit card?

Since it's a Mastercard, wouldn't PayPal need to clear everything through a local authorized bank, which would just mean the bank gets a look at my account anyway?

It's simple—get the cash in your account, hit the ATM, and you're done.

Does anyone know what the daily limit is? I can't find anything listed...
Back home, it's usually around $1667 I think.

Bryan Adams6 said:I haven't tried it myself, but I think someone mentioned it could work here... if I remember correctly, maybe that guy from Citigroup was talking about it.

If our local authorities can't even figure this out, then we're in good shape. 😁

Now I'm curious too. 😁

I've just been using PayPal and never really looked into anything else besides getting my money into my checking account.

PayPal offers this, which I guess lets you pull cash from an ATM:

But you still need a bank account for that, right? 🤷

With a handicap, the Draw hits if the favorite wins by exactly one goal.

For example, if it's LA Galaxy (+1) vs. Paris Saint-Germain (-1), the Draw pays out if PSG wins by just one.
In an Aston Villa (-1) vs. Norwich City (+1) scenario, the -1 handicap Draw wins if the home team pulls off a one-goal victory.

That’s really all there is to it. It's the same logic, right? You haven't missed anything.
A winning margin of 1 for the side with the -1? 😁

Just give me a straight answer—name a specific sportsbook or a specific bet.

Joshua Garcia8 said:If it ends 2:0 or 3:1 (a two-goal lead for TEAM 1), the winning bet is TEAM 1.
If it ends 1:1 or 0:0 (a draw) or if TEAM 2 wins, the winning bet is TEAM 2.
If it ends 2:1 or 1:0 (a one-goal lead for TEAM 1), the winning bet is TIE.

Let me know if I messed anything up.

Perfect, just what I needed to clear this up.
I had a feeling that "TIE" was basically just an X on a 0:1 scoreline, but seeing "winning margin" pop up alongside it confused me. I couldn't figure out why they'd offer the exact same thing twice... 🤣

Quick question about the handicap...

TEAM 1 (-1) 8.00

TEAM 2 (+1) 1.25

TIE 5.00

Let's say I'm leaning toward the first two, the Asian style. If one team wins by two, the bet hits. If they win by just one, you get your money back.

This tie option is tripping me up...

What does it actually mean? Who wins, when, and what scores trigger it? 🤷

p.s. quick follow-up, anyone here have experience with DraftKings, William Hill, BlueSquare, or SkyBet?

I'm using Bet365 right now and I'm pretty happy, but I want to branch out. I'm looking at those ones above—how are they regarding payouts, how they treat Americans, and any betting limits?

Thanks a lot

I did a little digging before posting, but I couldn't find anything similar. My bad.
"Glad" to know I'm not the only one seeing this. It’s clearly on their end, not ours... 🙂

Hey there.

I could use some help—the timestamps on Reddit are acting totally weird. For example, the last post shows "TODAY 00:37," even though midnight hasn't even rolled around yet.
It’s been doing this ever since the clocks changed... 🙂

Thanks.

p.s. Interestingly, I just noticed this only happens on the subforum landing page (the sports section); once I actually click into a thread, the post times look fine. Any idea what's causing the glitch?

p.p.s. And when I log out, the same mess happens across all the subforums. It's a complete disaster.
