Elizabeth Mendoza said:Then who is? I only see this story on their site.
Elizabeth Mendoza said:Honestly, considering we're talking about BuzzFeed, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
🤣
Joseph Clark37 said:I agree with you, restlesssurfer97. In this specific instance, I don't feel much empathy for the reporter's injuries because she achieved her goal—a scandal and a headline.
On the other hand, looking back at how these things go, the police should have prevented the gathering, and the priest's church should have been retired and replaced by someone sensible. That will happen eventually, but likely too late...
Laura Chavez93 said:And if, by some chance, she couldn't squeeze a headline out of that, she’d probably just strip down and pee right on the church steps,
put on a vacant expression, and wait for the fallout... anything to secure a scoop ☕
instead of actually touring the city to find a real story—like a Corona party (I walked past one yesterday)—she chooses to deal with this nonsense 🙄 well, perhaps next time she might actually think twice...

I have to admit, I’m a bit surprised to see something like this coming from restlesssurfer97 and the Pope.
But then again, I suppose these are just the times we live in.
Anthony Jackson2 said:So what? It just exposed how hypocritical these institutions really are. 🤷
restlesssurfer97 said:The bottom line is that this woman basically manufactured a whole drama out of thin air because the church was empty—which, honestly, I’m still wrapping my head around myself—so there was zero actual substance to work with. She walked inside, ran straight into a total jerk, and then got exactly what she wanted: a confrontation she could spin into some big headline. If that guy hadn't stepped up and shut her down, she would've almost certainly marched right up to the altar, filming everything closer and closer until someone else intervened, and when nobody stopped her, she probably would've started badgering those poor old ladies sitting in the pews just to fish for some ridiculous quote so she could make the whole country laugh at how clueless these religious types are.
Elizabeth Mendoza said:Are you seriously trying to wish death upon me with that bolded comment?
You know how they say it: talk about a pig, and you'll hear nothing but squealing. 🕺
restlesssurfer97 said:The footage this reporter put together shows nothing but an empty church, and I mean totally deserted, even on Easter Sunday. Honestly, I was fully expecting to see massive crowds or maybe some juicy scandal breaking out mid-service.
I’m actually kind of shocked if I’m being real with you, because it looks like those Catholics might be playing it way smarter than the media usually lets on, which is wild—like, did I seriously fall for the whole propaganda thing about them being all stuck in their ways? oemđi 🤦
Jacob Price95 said:Not only that, but you and the rest of the religious zealots would probably go out there to shut down the mosque and burn it to the ground along with everyone inside just because they don't follow your rules. ☕
wiredrider9 said:The media in America cares way more about some random priest holding service than they do about doctors and nurses seeing their paychecks slashed while working in absolute garbage conditions without basic gear. If those healthcare workers actually spoke up, they'd be threatened with being fired immediately. Like, take that nursing home in Miami—they don't even have a single damn computer, let alone gloves or masks; they haven't been given anything. But sure, let's ignore all that and obsess over one priest and a few people walking around town. That's clearly the "real" crisis we should all be worried about.
steelharbor9 said:Just you wait, they keep cranking up the intensity until the very end. 🤣
I started watching Money Heist. I'm 5 episodes in, and it’s not bad, but I don't know if all the hype is totally justified. It feels a bit like a weaker version of the first season of Prison Break, maybe? 🤷
brightpilot6 said:In the end, it’s just a full-speed collision with a brick wall. 🙏🙏
I suppose I should weigh in on Money Heist as well; I’ve managed to get through three seasons, and while it isn't exactly bad, I wouldn't call it anything approaching great. Besides, there is something about watching people rob a decent King that sits poorly with me, especially since I feel like I deal with enough of those types of situations in my own life. ☕
Paul Sanders5 said:Man, these soul-crushing video messages they shove down our throats every single day all about what's happening in Italy are seriously getting on my nerves. Just stay home, stay home, listen to the government, stay home, this disease isn't a joke, stay home... it's straight-up brainwashing. We don't get any news from the other 200 countries fighting COVID-19—some are winning, some aren't, but not one of those places has looked as much of a total disaster zone as Italy. If the average number of sick people and deaths is supposed to be "x," and you see some fluctuations up or down within expected ranges, but then Italy hits 10x or 20x or whatever (I'm not even looking at the numbers, I can't deal right now), then that doesn't tell us anything about the virus itself—it tells us everything we need to know about that country.
And our TV networks? They just obsess over Italy constantly. For crying out loud, show us something else! If you aren't going to report on things outside of Europe, at least show us how the Slovaks, Czechs, or Poles are handling it.
