I spotted it at Walmart and some local shops, but I'm pretty sure you can find it in most grocery stores too...

The meat is incredibly juicy and flavorful when it's fresh. For me, canned tuna is basically garbage...
Sometimes I get sea bream; those are farmed, but at least they come from the Atlantic, which is relatively clean compared to what you find with tuna sourced from Thailand...
Bottom line is, I get way more actual protein and fresh fish from a single mackerel than I ever would from your cans.
I've tried them all, and honestly, none of them are any good.
As for the Eva brand, I'm not entirely sure, but I think it’s not even local—probably Spanish. It used to be decent, with light fillets that were maybe a bit too salty, but the real issue is the inconsistency. Sometimes you get the good light meat, and other times they hand you this disgusting, dark red, smelly stuff near the head...
The Rio mar stuff is overpriced, and there's so little in the can it wouldn't even feed a kid. It feels like it's all just scraps...
Then there's the tune Maršić, which is expensive as hell. You'd think there was gold in those cans...
The cheap generic tuna is loaded with heavy metals from Thailand, or if you're lucky, maybe something from Spain...
uglavnom fuck tuna.

placidranger said:You're right that the ingredient lists aren't identical, but they function the same way. I honestly don't think a beginner would notice any difference whether they grab a pre-made gainer or just DIY their own mix of sugar and protein...

I’m thinking about mixing some Whey with Glutamine to make a shake I can knock back after every workout. The goal is to pack on at least 10 or 15 lbs of mass. Since I don't know much about proteins or supplements, I was wondering... are there any "bad" side effects on how I look?
I've heard that once you stop taking protein, you basically "flush out" all the weight you gained. I know Whey is just processed dairy, but still... is there a chance my body will just wither away if I ever stop training or using supplements?

Sometimes I accidentally grab three scoops and I'm fine too... 😁
rustyowl4 said:It isn't about how much you eat per meal, it's about the hourly absorption rate. If your body can handle 30g of protein an hour, and you knock back 50g of Whey that digests within that same window, then at least 20g is basically wasted...
-but you could easily hit 100g of protein in one sitting if the food source is slow-digesting, like something that takes maybe three hours to break down...
placidranger said:there’s zero proof that your body has some kind of ceiling on how much protein it can digest in a single sitting. honestly, sounds like a total myth to me. if anyone actually has some real data to back that up, let's hear it.
