I’ve seen people lick the knife and shove it right back in to grab another glob—I swear I’ve seen it a hundred times. If I catch someone doing that, I’m out. I'm not touching that jar. It drives me insane. When we buy a jar of Nutella, can we please act like civilized adults and just spread it on bread instead of leaving everyone else's spit in there? Can you actually catch something this way? I mean, there's literal saliva in the food, so I'm assuming yes, but even if you can't, it's freaking gross..
Got any doctors in here who can confirm if you can actually pick up something from doing that?🙄
electriccobra76 said:Yeah, that’s basically the fastest way to spread germs and viruses everywhere.
What kind of bacteria or viruses are we even talking about? Besides hepatitis, which is obviously bad, can you catch anything worse? Like what someone else mentioned—imagine someone's digging into a jar of Jif, licking the knife, shoving it back in, and then we all use that same dirty knife. What happens then?🙄>
I always—and I mean *always*—use the paper towel I used to dry my hands to turn off the faucet. I’m seriously questioning how we teach kids hand hygiene... because medical pros basically say wash before meals and after using the restroom—do it for yourself first, then for everyone else. 🙂 Honestly, I don't see many people actually scrubbing up properly after hitting the bathroom, so it makes me wonder what kind of lessons kids are even getting. 🙄
I’m seriously wondering if getting sick is actually that easy, especially when people can't even be bothered to wash a glass properly. How many people are gonna get sick because of this? 😁 I feel like we can't even grab a drink at a bar or a pastry from a bakery without worrying. Honestly, it's my coworkers that freak me out more—people who touch stuff and then eat right out of someone else's container. It's disgusting and totally unhygienic. There are days when someone won't even give a spoon a real wash; they just give it a quick rinse and toss it back in with the clean ones. 😕
The worst part is how much conflicting info is out there. It’s all over the place... one doctor tells you one thing, then another one says the exact opposite 😕
Carol Scott98 said:I don't think you're getting anything "scary" from that... maybe just mono 🤔🤷
Right? I mean, someone just shared a little spit, nothing more. 😉 But where did the theory come from about how deep kissing—not even regular kissing—could theoretically spread IBM?! I have no clue if that's actually ever happened in real life..
Great, thanks for the long-winded lectures 😁 but I’m actually wondering if you get anything out of it when someone licks the mayo jar clean and then you have to use it for toast right after?! Or take that pickle jar example 😁 can we get some actual answers here! Look, I’ve had herpes forever, plain and simple. As soon as I get stressed, my immune system tanks and it flares up... which is exactly why I'm careful, because I don't want passing it on to anyone else.
This is gross.. I’m done buying mayo, and I’m definitely not eating out of those glass jars in the office fridge anymore. Now I’m sitting here wondering why I keep getting these cold sores 😕
Carol Scott98 said:of course 😉 hmh, Da.. interesting question.. honestly, I can't stand people who grab someone else's food... they don't even stop to think that maybe someone just spat in it 🤣 I don't even know what to tell you.. I mean, you probably won't catch some crazy disease right this second, but either way, that move is just gross. I can't believe how anyone even thinks to do that ☕
I didn't think there were actually people like that.. or like, say, a jar of pickles, and instead of grabbing a pickle, someone just tilts the whole jar to their mouth to chug the juice because they like it 😲😠
Oh yeah, sure, bacteria are great too since they're basically living on us anyway 😉
Carol Scott98 said:Uhh... herpes, mono... HIV and hepatitis aren't spread through saliva (unless, God forbid, someone has bleeding gums... or whatever else goes on) 🤔
Yeah, but you’d still need an open wound for those viruses to actually get in, right? 🙄 Let's talk about this... say at my office we have a shared fridge. I buy some mayo for lunch, but I don't finish the whole jar, so I leave half behind. Then someone else uses it later—I can tell because some's missing—and they're using their mouth to scrape out the last bit without getting it on the rim. Could I theoretically catch something from that?!
Carol Scott98 said:that is sooo disgusting!!!!!!!!!! I seriously can't believe what I'm seeing.. then they just sit down somewhere and grab a pastry with their bare hands like nothing happened and start eating....... 😲 🙂
Exactly!! When I buy something like that, I never touch it with my hands—I use the paper wrapper, or I'll even hunt for a bag.. we all know you can catch hepatitis, stomach bugs, or whatever else from that crap😕

I get it... but we can't live in a bubble. Besides, I'm not some hardcore smoker—a pack lasts me a week easy. 😉

I honestly don't think they exist. I'm looking too, but frankly, I don't care if it's private practice or through insurance. 😉
That’s exactly why I stopped handing out cigarettes when people ask... I watched this coworker walk out of the breakroom without even washing his hands, then he has the nerve to ask me for a smoke, reaching right into my pack with those filthy hands. I’m supposed to just stick whatever he touches straight into my mouth? It’s beyond gross—I’m legit worried about catching some random disease. 😕
I can totally imagine how you felt.. For me, the absolute worst part is when someone comes in from the city without even washing their hands after grabbing handles on buses, subways, or whatever else 😳
Can someone point me toward a top-tier dentist in Chicago? Honestly, I don't care about the price tag or if it’s a guy or a woman—I just need someone who actually knows what they're doing and gets the job done right. Please! 😉
