🤔

I think I might have slipped into a parallel universe again.

My three all-time favorite children's authors were:

1. Karl May
2. Jules Verne
3. Uh... I can't remember, maybe Tone Seliškar?

Oh, right—the very first book I ever read was a shortened edition of Baron Munchausen.

Man, I was really hoping they might have tightened things up a bit. Now I'm stuck wondering if I'd even bother going...

Classic picture books: absolutely top-tier.

stormyviper11 said:I actually had a playlist going this morning featuring both Franz Ferdinand and Interpol, just shuffling between the two, and I found the experience surprisingly decent. To my ears, Interpol feels a bit thinner and less distinct, though they aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination. It reminds me of when you pick out two different types of mushrooms—one variety is absolutely incredible while the other is merely serviceable—and you toss them both into a stew; you know the second type won't ruin the dish, even if it lacks that certain magic on its own.

It’s honestly fascinating how many different ways people find to pull food metaphors into a conversation like this. 😁

I think the second Interpol record holds up quite well, especially when you consider how it flows right into Slow Hands, though I honestly feel the second half of that album could have been left on the cutting room floor. That debut album, however, remains a beautiful piece of work.🙂

That skirt actually looks pretty good on you this time around.😁
Honestly, I was just about to post that you probably shouldn't get too carried away with the hype surrounding the announcement 😁

though I’ll likely end up going anyway, mostly because I won't have anything more productive to occupy my time.

It feels forced.
You can definitely do better than that.
😁

Nah, it doesn't work without context. It reminds me of something I heard back when things were still heated during that massive scandal out in Coachella; we were just walking through the campgrounds when someone suddenly shouted some nonsense about God, and I honestly nearly died laughing.🙂

David Sullivan4 said:I was reading through this and it actually brought back memories of those old demon stories... I was watching an AC/DC live concert DVD last night with the English subtitles turned on, and it was honestly pretty amusing. When "Hells Bells" starts and that bell begins to toll, the subtitle just says [bell ringing]. Then the thunder rolls in and the crowd starts screaming—the caption just lists it as [ah-ah-ah-ah]—and when the singer lets out a "yeah," the screen simply reads [yeah]. It’s all very literal.

🙂

This is easily some of the darkest humor I've ever come across.

Samuel Murphy6 said:Don't just play around; tell it like it is. The idea that we can't pin down where the local burger joint is actually located makes me uneasy. 😠

Local burger stands are essentially the landmarks that define an entire neighborhood, much like how you identify a district by its iconic diner,🙂

and have you completely forgotten about the old NASA facility?

Michael Newman50 said:Imagine the day you realize I’ve been using you like my most trusted asset, only for you to turn around and plunge a knife—the kind you use for spreading jam on pancakes—straight into my back...

Well, that’s just not how things work here.

Friends, do we really need a leadership style built on suspicion, one that lacks any fundamental faith in our most dedicated fighters—those people who are truly devoted to the Cause?

We shouldn't be putting our trust in false prophets! Pancakes should be for everyone, not just for them.

The absolute best shared folder:

I've included the Liars album, though I had to trim that one thirty-minute track just to keep the file size down to 56 mb

Good grief, I need to know—when is this happening and how? It sounds even better than what I imagined.

I’m already wondering how I’ll even process something like that, especially since the intensity of it all seems just incredible.

Sean Lee7 said:Musaka law above law, don't be like that. Though, if they started calling fruit yogurt "meat yogurt," I'd probably still give it a shot. 🙂

Or what if we had mayonnaise yogurt instead?

I was actually sitting there late one night thinking about some truly absurd ultra-processed food concepts—like, say, sandwich pâté. 😁

Alright, fair enough then.

I haven't actually sat down to listen to Doolittle either, which honestly might be for the best.

I was thinking maybe someone who actually reads Cosmo could put together a top 10 list of ten pieces of advice. Today I came across an article titled: "Trendsetters, blow them away: 10 new fashion trends to watch."

Give me a break.

I'm asking Grace Phillips60 to put together a brief essay—nothing over 10,000 words, please—explaining exactly why "Scab Dates" stands out as the best live album of the year.

Look, regarding Heller's work, I can live with "something happened." It’s messy and feels a bit disorganized, but I wouldn't call it *bad*. That said, I don't think I'll ever pick it up again; it’s just far too bleak for my taste.

A list of all-time great PC games:

1. Syndicate

2. Sensible Soccer
3. Doom
4. Warlords
5. Warcraft

Not quite 😳 it’s more like they have sci-fi kept strictly to their own designated shelves while everything else gets relegated to another section entirely.
