Based on their specs, it looks like the max capacity they support is 1TB...

Is it actually that limited? If I try to pop in a 2TB drive, will it just fail to work or won't the system recognize it at all?....

Micron lists guaranteed RAM and SSD upgrades for most laptops on their site—stuff that works 100%. They don't have anything listed for the Dell XPS 13IA, though they do list options for the Dell XPS 13EA. Not sure what the deal is with that one letter difference... But according to them, the Dell XPS 13EA handles the 4 TB CT4000P3PSSD8 without any issues at all.

Even though the official specs claim you can only max out at 12 GB, I've seen plenty of folks online confirming that if you pop a 16 GB stick in that slot, you'll actually hit 20 GB total... so really, just go with whatever fits your budget better. You could grab the 8 GB setup for $70 or just go big with 16 GB for $150 .

Google hasn't really been much help on this one...

For the 15ITL6 82H8, there are at least twenty different configurations out there. If you take the specific part number, say 82H8006KSC, and plug it into https://psref.lenovo.com, everything should be laid out clearly for you. Generally speaking, these models usually come with 4 GB soldered directly to the board and then one 4GB SO-DIMM slot, making it a single-slot setup for DDR4-3200. You can typically max it out at 12 GB by swapping that 4 GB stick for an 8 GB one...

When you say you googled that, were you looking at this specific laptop or just some other random model? I've seen plenty of reviews for laptops with poorly implemented Intel Core Processors, but I don't think that has anything to do with this Lenovo...

Maybe it’s just me, but I honestly don't see what moving abroad actually solves. If you're a young person with a solid career and a decent paycheck here in the States, what's the point?

I also don't quite get the logic behind families working over in Germany who still can't scrape together enough to pay off their mortgage back home in the US. Unless they simply don't want to... then I suppose I'd understand.

You could definitely pull that off with almost any controller (certainly anything cheaper than an $3.25). You'd just use transistors to trigger relays, which would then switch the motors on and off. If C++ is giving you trouble, you could even write the code in Assembly...☕

You really need to drink massive amounts of fluids—plain water works fine for me, though people around here seem to swear by Perrier—much more than you think you need. Also, try eating way more salads and leafy greens, and that should help soften things up...

Honestly, it’s not that big of a deal, unless you’re one of those shy types—then it becomes a whole thing. I just tell my doctor not to skimp on the lubricant, and once he takes care of things, everything works out fine. 👍

Changing your lifestyle helps too... basically move more, sit less, and watch what you eat... if you stick to greens rather than meat and drink massive amounts of water, you can actually turn things around. ☕

As for those Daflon tablets my doctor prescribed... I was planning on taking them, but then the hemorrhoids suddenly cleared up on their own. Maybe they were just scared of the name...🙂

You didn't need to read the whole thread, really. Most of the posts basically boil down to people asking how they can strike it rich through farming in record time... which is obviously pure science fiction.

As for farming in general, there’s definitely money to be made there, provided you actually want to make a living from the land.
You can live quite comfortably (financially speaking).
But the land requires a smart master who is also willing to be its most humble servant.
It’s just constant work, work, and more work. On the bright side, there's zero stress, and life tends to be much more relaxed and straightforward.

Fewer and fewer people are turning to agriculture out in the rural areas. It isn't because they're afraid of the grueling labor, but rather because that hard work often just isn't worth the payoff—assuming you even get paid at all.

I have a corporate job, and while it can be pretty high-pressure, compared to farming, it's nothing. My paycheck hits my account on the 15th like clockwork, and I can take my vacation whenever I feel like it. On the flip side, a farmer spends every single day worrying... will it rain? Is there going to be an ice storm? What am I going to do with fifty head of cattle? What if the buyer I have a contract with pulls out? When am I actually seeing the cash from today's sale? Not to mention having zero days off in a year.

To the folks bragging about their walnut orchards... I should probably mention that I used to have a few groves (not just walnuts) set aside for massive timber and other specialized uses, but during the war, a few shells landed right in the middle of them so... I don't expect a repeat of that, though you never know.

In my eyes, there is no such thing as a simpler or more relaxed lifestyle, which is exactly why I didn't go down that path. Most of the people running huge operations today who actually turn a profit mostly just rely on government subsidies, planting nothing or barely anything unless they absolutely have to.
