School Reform: Thoughts? in Students & Teens ·
I don't see the issue with these kinds of questions; we had to learn this stuff too. Besides, you just watch a few documentaries, check out a map, and you're set. No need to grind through textbooks. Honestly, I thought they were expected to memorize exact percentages on command.

Experts have weighed in on the public debate regarding proposed changes to education laws, pushing back against a suggestion that would allow parents to opt their children out of certain interdisciplinary modules or cross-curricular topics.

http://factcheck.org/2017/12/11/education-law-debate/

Such a provision could easily clash with the legal goals of our education system: "to raise and educate students in line with general cultural and civilizational values, human rights, and children's rights; to prepare them for life in a multicultural world through respect for diversity and tolerance; and to enable active, responsible participation in the democratic development of society." Furthermore, the law mandates that children have a right to "acquire core competencies based on (...) scientific knowledge and achievements."
"We believe these educational goals are impossible to reach if parents are allowed to cherry-pick content. Simply being a parent doesn't automatically grant the expertise required to decide which scientific discoveries and achievements—or which specific teaching methods—are best suited to meet these objectives," explains the American Psychological Association.

Look, I’m going to be generous here. I'll give you and Jerry White29 a chance to go back and edit your last posts in the chemtrail thread—specifically those parts where you’re taking shots at the mods—before I just delete them. 🙂 If you can't edit them, just copy the content over and post it without the problematic sections.

Nicole Johnson20 said:You're deleting posts without any actual reason. I've been trying to tell you that rules exist for a purpose. If there are rules about deleting posts, then they should be deleted because a rule was broken—something you can point out to the user. It shouldn't just depend on whether a moderator feels like it or if they personally dislike something.

It’s never about my personal whims. You could have seen that for yourself when the other (senior) mods shared their thoughts on how I moderate. I always stand by my decisions, but I’m also perfectly fine admitting when I've messed up and fixing it. We always tell users why they've been sanctioned if they ask; some people just choose not to see it or accept it.

Nicole Johnson20 said:If I’m supposedly not supposed to care that the rest of us can’t even join a conversation anymore—and if that shouldn't bother me—fine. If you say so. So now you get to decide what should offend me and what shouldn't? Great.

You can participate. Nobody's stopping you. And I'm not telling you how to feel. It was just a suggestion to make things smoother and more pleasant for everyone on the forum.

Your explanations basically boil down to: "I didn't like your post, so you should have phrased it differently," or "your post made me uncomfortable." That's all there is to it.

My explanations are what they are. How anyone else takes them isn't my concern.

This is definitely not how you suggest improvements for the PDF:

Nicole Johnson20 said:There we go. As soon as I post something, posts start disappearing from the thread again. It was quiet while I was away, but it’s pretty obvious this place is getting out of hand.

Deleting other people's posts isn't my business to worry about. If users have an issue with it, they should just ask and get an explanation, like always. Besides, I'm not the only moderator on Alternative, and I'm not the only one doing the cleaning.

Could you please be more specific when you bring up deleted posts and moderation? It’s impossible to actually respond to you otherwise.

Nicole Johnson20, about a month ago you were complaining about some deleted post. Nothing was being removed back then, so I’d appreciate it if you could provide some actual details—like what was taken down, when, and where—before you start making baseless accusations. Otherwise, you're just showing up here periodically to vent.

I got a message, but I didn't reply—nor did I think the post in question needed to be taken down.

Jason Grant said:Do you guys think a post like this... should be deleted?

Personally, I don't see an issue. But if the other mods or super mods feel it needs to go, then fine.
We all have loved ones we've lost, but I don't see why mentioning crematoriums is off-limits outside of that specific context—at least not here. 🤷

It says right there in red: no discussions on MMS or CD protocols. Your post was pulled because it was just a reaction to another user's previous thread on the subject that we already cleared out. I sent you a private message explaining this right after your last deleted comment—the one where you started critiquing the mods, which isn't allowed here. Honestly, I don't see the issue.

This isn't about my personal style or anyone else's. It’s pretty simple: if a post gets deleted—whether it's for insults, going off-topic, or whatever—then usually all the replies tied to it go down too. I laid this out clearly in my first response. If someone's posts are removed for specific reasons, there’s no point in keeping the replies that reference them or quote the problematic content. Half the time, those threads just spiral into off-topic arguments anyway.
Whether there's merit to my argument or not, I'll leave that up to the mods.

I really am sorry. 😢 My apologies.

I don't know if you realize that deleting things without cause is pretty disrespectful to the people who actually care about this topic and came here to discuss, share, or just hang out.

Why do you think the deletion was unjustified? Just because you don't like it?

PS. Your link isn't working,

link.

I noticed you didn't actually list the specific questions you were complaining about—which is why I sent you here in the first place—but I'll answer you anyway so we can put this to rest. Posts get deleted (not just yours) because of being Off-topic, bickering, or insults. Since some of briskbison55's posts were removed, any posts referencing them or quoting them were also wiped, especially if they just added to the arguing. Even if a post contained a useful link or something relevant to the topic, if it was attached to a mess, it gets nuked. It isn't our policy to surgically remove only the problematic parts of a post.
Regarding this thread, please focus on "proposals" in the title rather than "complaints." Anything regarding warnings, deletions, or strikes should go through direct messages or this PDF improvement proposal.

For the part below, it would be helpful if you provided links to the disputed posts and my moderation actions. I don't recall ever saying you could only post about what you eat.
leaving moderator warnings in completely irrelevant and misplaced places (for example, warning people to stay on topic in a peaceful and benevolent thread like True horror event which has never been an issue? Or telling us not to talk about anything besides food in the raw food thread—as if we're pigs?), and the unjustified deletion of numerous posts that don't break any rules.

The mods from the alternative PDF, along with all other mods and admins, have access to all deleted posts and can always verify someone's claims.

And thanks for following my life so closely. 😍

Michelle Nelson4 said:Well, we haven't had our back-to-school nights just yet; those aren't happening until next week. And honestly, this "top secret" information is surprisingly hard to track down—even if you go asking during the meetings! Of course, once classes actually get rolling, it won't take long at all to figure out how many kids are in each group. On our side, the schedule includes a block period in the morning, which is great. I’m really hoping they stick with that! 🙂

They told us everything at our PTA meeting, and nobody even had to ask.

Michelle Nelson4 said:I'm curious, what kind of attendance are you seeing in your classrooms lately? In my experience, we had about 6 kids out of 23 missing last year.

6 out of 20 here.
We declared our choice during enrollment, then on the first day, they handed everyone paperwork again—I guess just in case someone changed their mind. 😁 I doubt they even brought it up a third time at the parent meeting (we signed plenty of other stuff). 🤔
How do I delete a thread on ParentTalk? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
jadetinker85 said:Exactly. I only started that thread because someone deleted my previous one about this book, so I was just looking for another way to talk about it.

Your thread wasn't deleted; it was merged into an existing one, which I already told you (I'm the one who did it). Looking at the timestamps, you posted in the old thread first and then opened a new one ten minutes later. As for any other "new" threads you think are missing, I haven't seen anything and there's no trace of them here. 🤷Bottom line, it stays as it is.

Look at that, even Michelle Robinson showed up at the exact same time. 😁

jadetinker85 said:We aren't talking about the same book. 🙂 Different author, too.

Take a look at your post from about two weeks ago where you brought up this book and we had that brief little side discussion about it. Besides, you posted the exact same link on this thread right around the same time you started the other one, so it’s not like you didn't know. 😁 But if it matters that much to you, I'll check with the other girls to see if there's even any point in starting a new thread for this book, or if we should just stick to the current one and maybe tweak the title.

It wasn't deleted; it was just merged with an existing thread where people were already talking about that same book. It’s kind of pointless to have multiple discussions going on about the exact same thing.

So, I'm asking for my deleted posts regarding the Unknown topic to be restored. If some posts aren't getting wiped, then none of them should be. Let's have some consistency here. 👍

The posts aren't coming back because you were being abusive. Stop attacking people and taking things personally, and maybe you won't have anything deleted in the first place.
