Please take a moment to review the results. If you believe there is an error, you have until Sunday to submit any appeals or requests for corrections.

I would like to propose the addition of a new primary scoring metric to our system. Much like how Formula 1 drivers are awarded points for securing the fastest lap, perhaps we could implement a rule where the forum member who achieves the highest number of accurate placements within a specific round earns one major point. What are your thoughts on such a measure?

ruggedhawk20 said:If there were actual gravel in the runoff areas, wouldn't all these complications just vanish? One wouldn't even need referees, or a complex set of regulations, or endless debates over how those rules should be interpreted. A bit of loose gravel would simply deliver justice through the natural course of physics.

But they don't have any gravel, do they? Because they are nothing but frauds.

I couldn't agree more.

Richard Walker38 said:I had honestly assumed I was dealing with people who write with a sense of reality and can look at situations objectively. Instead, most of these posts feel like they were written by teenagers. While I don't particularly care for Hamilton for various other reasons, claiming that he spent the MAJORITY of his career in the best car is sheer idiocy. We are talking about a fourteen-year career, and during the last two seasons, he was dominant in the sense that he essentially strolled through most of the season. Before that, during his early years at McLaren, the car was good, certainly, but it wasn't superior; he was actively battling Alonso and Kimi. Later on, the McLaren car just became an absolute wreck. During those first three years at Mercedes-Benz, the team was still building up, and he was constantly fighting Rosberg. After Rosberg left in 2017, he finished forty points ahead of Vettel, mostly because Vettel suffered two retirements in the second half of the season—and frankly, in that season and the one following, Vettel basically shot himself in the foot several times and handed the title over to Hamilton.

While 2019 and 2020 were true periods of boredom where he lacked any real competition, to suggest that he possessed a superior car for the bulk of his entire career is nothing short of foolishness.

Can you name even one other driver in the history of Formula 1 who sat in a car that won seven consecutive Constructor's Championships over a seven-year span?

Raymond Anderson4 said:I have to respectfully disagree there, because I truly believe Red Bull Racing holds the edge. If you look at the data, Red Bull didn't suffer a single sector deficit when compared to Mercedes-Benz.
Plus, if we consider how they managed to pull away during that third sector—it was quite remarkable, wasn't it? Max was consistently shaving off tenths of a second just within that third sector alone.
At this point in time, Red Bull Racing is undoubtedly the superior car.

If you were to take a moment to compare Perez's lap times and his overall gap, perhaps the reality of the situation would become much more transparent to you. He simply couldn't match the pace set by Bottas, who was so dominant that he even had enough margin to pit one last time just to go out and set a blistering fastest lap.

Raymond Anderson4 said:They won't, because Mercedes-Benz will soon have a car that matches Red Bull Racing.
And they’ll likely find even more speed as the season progresses.

In my estimation, the Mercedes-Benz machine is already superior; the only thing missing is having the best driver behind the wheel.

wiredseal7 said:It is undeniably true that Lewis Hamilton lost about a tenth and a half when he was being chased through turn 10, yet even if his lap had been executed flawlessly, it simply wouldn't have sufficed. A gap of four tenths during qualifying is quite significant, isn't it? Though, I suppose we grew accustomed to such margins with Mercedes back in 2020.

One must consider the entire package, from the driver's skill to how perfectly the car's setup adaptations are hit, right down to the sheer "rocket propulsion" provided by Honda—it is worth noting that Mercedes itself admits to a slight power deficit regarding the ERS. It seems to me that no one else possessed such an advantage during this era, except perhaps when Ferrari exploited fuel flow loopholes.

I am certain Mercedes will stage a comeback, and I continue to view them as slight favorites for the championship title. This is especially true if Checo Perez does not find more pace very soon. There are whispers that Mercedes is bringing a new floor to Imola, and if that proves successful, Max Verstappen will certainly feel the heat on his neck.

But then again, their "rival" isn't a team that is standing still either. If you listen to AT, it sounds like Honda still has some untapped potential left in that engine. On the other hand, McLaren didn't exactly shine yesterday as many of us expected. Is it possible, then, that Mercedes is aiming for four power units just to ensure they remain competitive early on, preventing the midfield from threatening them and stealing points away from Valtteri Bottas?

There is no definitive proof that Ferrari was cheating; it is far more likely they were merely exploiting a loophole in the regulations, which the FIA subsequently closed to prevent further use.

wiredfalcon2 said:Actually, Vettel is being investigated because of Sainz, not because of what happened with Mazepin.

No, that isn't quite right; it is actually due to the incident involving Mazepin at Turn 1.

It seems to me that Mercedes-AMG remains the superior machine on the grid, does it not? And as for the driver, I find myself believing that Max Verstappen continues to be the absolute best in the business.

If they’re actually serious about this, signing one of the most seasoned and high-profile drivers on the grid briskhound76—who also happens to be one of the team's founders—proves it. With the team returning, there are plenty of other updates coming your way over the next few days.

Now that we've already introduced briskhound76... the team is hunting for another driver to fill that vacant seat and help get this outfit back to where they belong. So, consider this our official announcement that we are looking for a second driver.

If you're still riding the free agent market and think you have what it takes to push us toward a double championship, you're more than welcome to step up.👍

Welcome aboard! We might be able to forgive Tyler for his mistakes, but we certainly can't overlook his absence at the big musical gala.

A pleasant surprise, indeed! 🙂

Mine was always #68.

Quote : Life on Mars As stated by:
I am simply requesting my number 22. 🙏
I find myself wondering if, even in the actual Formula 1 world, holding that number one spot should perhaps be viewed as a potential privilege rather than an absolute, heavy-handed obligation placed upon the winner. Is it not possible that such a distinction serves more as a mark of distinction for those who have earned it, rather than a rigid mandate they are forced to carry?
So, I am going ahead and assigning those numbers to you all now. Since nobody actually bothered to make a definitive statement or declare their positions, I have gone ahead and automatically slotted you both into the number 1 and 2 spots—mostly because you two seem so incredibly dedicated to defending the championship title.

Goodness, the competition is already intensifying at an incredible rate! It feels as though we will be forced to pour even more resources into our car's development just to keep pace. That being said, the atmosphere within the team remains quite optimistic. ruggedscout76 isn't exactly a rookie anymore, and graniteharbor502 is currently in the absolute prime of his life.
