I’m honestly quite relieved to see we’re all on the same page regarding the fact that VN Australia is officially a thing of the past 🙂

Exactly.

And honestly, much of that glory can be traced back to a single dial that allowed drivers—like Mark Donohue—to adjust the power output on the fly. Isn't that just fascinating?

They were virtually unstoppable until the governing bodies stepped in with those restrictive regulations—something about limiting air intake, if I recall correctly—which basically leveled the playing field by capping everyone's power.

It’s definitely fast, though I wouldn't say it can touch a Formula 1 car
on the other hand. That Porsche could probably handle a 24-hour endurance race at Le Mans without breaking a sweat, whereas a Formula 1 car isn't really built for 😬

What do you think he’s behind the wheel of? Could it be a Ford GT40? ☕

I have a feeling they took it down right after I signed up, 😬

but it seems to be back up and running now. 🙂

So, who do we think takes the win here?
If I were looking at this purely from a marketing standpoint, I’d say it might be a dead heat, or perhaps they'll need Lewis Hamilton to pull through for the sake of the brand. But really, why guess? Let's just wait and see how it unfolds.🙂

Roger Wright94 said:The odds on a safety car are 1.85. Are there any bets actually worth taking?
So, to walk away with a nice decent car—let's say around $18,000—you’d have to put down about $21,500. Well, it's a shame I don't have that kind of cash lying around.

Just some extra trivia: the win odds are 18 for both Toyotas, Vettel, Nico, and Nick. Meanwhile, Hamilton is at 16 and Massa is at 15.

I suppose I'll have to place another bet eventually. On Ferrari, naturally. It's the only way I can watch this without losing my mind.

There hasn't been an SC in Malaysia since 2002, so you tell me how "safe" that bet really is.☕
Morgan Murphy7 said:mistybear87, are you feeling a bit let down by how Williams Racing performed, especially after they looked so promising during the practice sessions?

Yeah, 😢
Roger Williams3 said:Man, did anyone else catch that absolute mess today? I mean, seriously, did you see those wheels just flying off the cars during the race? It was wild.

Did they seriously scrap that rule where the wheels had to be connected by some kind of metal bar or whatever?

Yeah, that was certainly an interesting sight.
I'd venture to guess the cables just snapped. I mean, seeing Sebastian Vettel dragging that tire such a long distance before Nick Heidfeld ended up pinning it against the wall... it really looked like the tethers gave way.🤷
John Bennett4 said:Well, nobody really cares about your sofa,

come on, give us some actual commentary on the race! Since you’re such a die-hard supporter of that completely obscure little team, you’re probably the only one capable of providing an objective breakdown of today's drivers. 👍

lol

Button definitely earned that win.
Barrichello had more luck than sense there; he'll surely be more careful at the start next time.
Hamilton was lucky, certainly, but you have to hand it to him for dodging all those incidents.
Trulli and Glock 🙏. All those mishaps seemed to work in their favor, yet they still struggled. A shame about the penalty.
Alonso relied more on luck than logic, though he used the Hybrid System quite cleverly to keep the others at bay.
Rosberg is just damn fast, but incredibly foolish and unlucky. 🙄
Buemi and Bourdais 🙏
Sutil, Heidfeld, Fisichella, and Webber were nothing special—just driving their lines, more or less successful.
Vettel and Kubica drove brilliantly until that "incident"; honestly, just two fools colliding. 🙄
I won't even go there with Raikkonen and Massa; everything that could have gone wrong did, but you can clearly see the raw pace is there.
What on earth happened with Kovalainen? I seem to have lost track. 😬
Piquet 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Nakajima *look at Rosberg, but ignore the "fast" part*
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Sep and that guy Rosberg are both absolute wash when you get down to it.

Well, I certainly wouldn't call myself mediocre.☕

I usually catch these morning races from my three-seater setup in the living room, mostly just so I can drift off easier if the race ends up being a bit of a snooze fest. 😛
stormybadger8 said:18. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren, 655
11. Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren, 690.6😲

Heikki is way faster than Hamilton even though he's carrying way more weight. It's insane, but looks like Heikki is finally actually driving somewhere.👍

5. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 657
14. Kazuki Nakajima, Williams, 612.5 😲😲 😲Who even is this kid? Looks like Nakajima is heading to the pits by lap 3.🤣How on earth is he that much slower than Rosberg? This is seriously weird.😕

Nakajima is clocked at 680 kg; it seems like the FIA might have made a bit of a mistake during the weighing process, according to what was reported.
Jessica Ramos12 said:I'm thinking the race starts at 8 because of Daylight Saving Time tonight.

Well, everyone is adjusting their clocks, so with the time change, the race will actually be at 7 PM according to the new time.☕>

Something just doesn't feel right over at Williams 👎

They filed a report on Williams, and then Williams turned around and filed one on them. Now we just wait and see who actually has more to lose, don't we?

Maria Nelson2 said:So I’m sitting here reading that Brawn GP might actually be looking at another name change... especially now that Richard Branson has started winking at every single camera lens in the paddock...😁

Yeah, I suppose they really ought to be virgins... oops, sorry, meant Virgin. 🙂
I'm still waiting on those fuel load numbers for the cars☕

Honestly, I’m dying to see how the guys running KERS are going to handle the launch. Jenson Button mentioned he's actually a bit worried they might just shoot off the line like a bullet🤷
let's go 🤣🤣🤣
