Cancer, Chemotherapy, and Exercise in Health ·
urbanorca said:Prof. Dr. Robert Thomas, a leading oncologist in the United Kingdom, points out that there is substantial evidence—and plenty of research, really—suggesting that patients who stay active have a significantly higher chance of preventing recurrence and generally feel much better than those who rely solely on chemotherapy.

Of course, it can be beneficial, but we’re talking about moderate exercise here, not anything extreme.
Then again, we aren't all built the same way, so the effects won't be identical for everyone—plus, it heavily depends on the specific type of carcinoma being dealt with and its current stage.

copperraven53, I’m really hoping everything goes smoothly for you—and honestly, I'm crossing my fingers that someone might actually chime in here with some firsthand experience, since I haven't the slightest clue what this process even looks like.
All I can really do is wish you a successful procedure. 😘
Is it possible that absolutely nobody here has dealt with this before?

Well, it looks like everyone is starting to drift off-topic, so I’ll go ahead and ask you all to please stick to the subject matter outlined in the original post. Thanks 🙂

I can't help but feel it's a bit of a missed opportunity that there isn't a poll feature here—it feels somewhat incomplete. I'm genuinely curious to see what the actual percentages look like regarding the For/Against split 🤔

Exactly—you could have joined us. We were planning on having a massive bonfire, and then comes the best part 😍

And if you're joking... I really do need to clear out my inbox. If I had a thousand messages sitting there, I wouldn't even bother deleting them; I'd probably just wait until they hit the limit before doing anything at all 😁

rustydrifter10, I am truly sorry 🙂, though it seems I am clearly suffering from a lack of sleep 😵
I’m signing off for now—but I am glad we were able to clear up that misunderstanding—from my end, at least 🙈

And hey, I even used bold text! If I really have to translate the vibe: "to lighten things up" was clearly meant as a way to say "screw it all up." You could have just responded with something like: when the mods are messing with small boxes, the admins are messing with huge shipping containers. Or maybe gas tankers. Whatever, just something significantly larger than a tiny little box.

And then somehow, I'm the one who doesn't get how to joke around... gosh, someone needs to dial down the paranoia a notch.

To be totally honest, I find it pretty offensive that you're insisting my post was anything other than a laugh.
First off, if I actually believed that massive abuses of PM's by mods or admins were happening, I wouldn't even bother checking this forum anymore.
Secondly, I would never, ever use that kind of language if I were actually trying to comment on a serious topic. Because writing something like that while actually meaning it is doubly insulting, and frankly, it's just completely distasteful to my taste.

Well, there you have it! If you had shown just once that you actually understood a joke, I might have been able to write a really clever metaphor about W. Tell and hitting the bullseye right in the middle.
That's basically how it looks.
😢

That’s just not really my style, sorry. 😢

I am sorry if I offended you, but I suppose we don't all share the same sense of humor or way of joking around, and I certainly can't read minds. There are people who say serious things through jokes—actually, now that I think about it, there are quite a few of those types. It isn't paranoia, really; it was just a simple misunderstanding.
My apologies once more; I truly didn't catch that last part as being 100% a joke. Everything is fine. 🤷 🙂

I'm not here to play politics or suck up to anyone, and honestly, you're probably too young to see the weight behind what you're saying.

What exactly are we getting worked up about here, guys? Is there some kind of fire breaking out somewhere that I'm missing? Maybe you were a little offended by my jokes—or perhaps, if I'm being honest, you’re just twisting everything to fit into your own specific little narrative. I have to wonder... do you even actually grasp the point I was making? 😂 🤣 In other words—no matter how much that might sting for you—I simply don't like it. I suppose I feel exactly the same way Jacob Foster11 does.

Who exactly are you to be lecturing me on "quality"? Seriously—what have you actually contributed to this conversation, aside from hiding behind a string of ridiculous pseudonyms?

So, we’re all out to get someone now, are we? I suppose we should all just bow down. Tell me—is your only metric for judging someone's actual quality or how much they truly care about this community really just their account age and their total post count? That seems... well, let's call it a rather shallow way to measure substance. 🤔 Well, I suppose this really highlights the current state of your reasoning skills—and your ability to communicate with others—which, frankly, seems to be sitting at absolute zero. I can’t help but wonder what the actual issue is here—what exactly is the problem when I happen to find myself in agreement with my colleague and a few others?

😂 I think I surpassed your age a long time ago. 😬😍 So, you’re going to call me a girl, is that the plan? Look, if your only goal here is to belittle someone else's comments, then you aren't actually contributing anything to the discussion—nor are you showing any respect for other people's perspectives or input—which, frankly, does nothing for this forum. There are always consequences for what one says. 🤣 Good grief, those sentences... honestly, give it a rest with all these self-important little stories of yours.

If you were actually being a jokester, you would have just answered the third question.
Honestly, there’s just no fun in dealing with someone as much of a prankster as you are!

I mean, what is your actual issue here, besides the fact that you somehow managed to be the only person to fall for such a blatant setup? You're treating a basic joke like some sort of profound statement—that’s your problem. And honestly, why would I owe you any explanations anyway, assuming there were even any messages posted to begin with? There weren't. Just stop acting like this when you clearly don't have a sense of humor and take everything way too personally. ☕

Is that some kind of moderator superpower I wasn't aware of?😍

I honestly find myself wondering, what kind of special treatment are the admins actually getting to make their lives easier?🤔

I honestly don't even want to touch that whole situation regarding the copy-pasting and the moderator antics—I'd rather just stay completely silent on it!🙂

So, I was just sitting here thinking about something else entirely! I've actually been wondering about something completely different—how is everything going? I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but here we go! Is that actually possible? I mean, seriously, could that really be happening?😕 Is that just a fluke, or is this some kind of classic, recurring glitch on the forum?

Look at this—they’re claiming a capacity of only 75 messages, which honestly feels like way too little for me! I’m definitely not the type of person who goes around deleting things unless they're absolutely overflowing, so I usually just let them pile up until the whole thing hits a breaking point. Seriously, who on earth would actually force me to sit there and manually clear out over 200 messages all at once? That sounds like a total nightmare!

Jooj 🤦 Do I really have to take this blatant joke seriously? 😲

Grammatical mistakes bother me too (I actually find myself editing my own posts several times 🙄 just to fix them)—I suppose it’s just a professional habit at this point 😳:.

However, I would NEVER dream of messing with someone else's writing style or trying to correct them. That is, unless we are clearly joking around. Even I occasionally write with certain regional quirks or slang patterns. But I don't support that kind of unsolicited correcting—it feels like you're trying to force someone into a new outfit that simply doesn't fit them or belong to them. 😉

And besides, how on earth would you even manage all that? It's obvious to me that you couldn't possibly keep up, but more importantly, how would you handle the backlash from other users if you started correcting them? They would inevitably attack you: "Why are you correcting them and not me? Why only here and never over there?" and so on.

Edit: Even if we had 1,001 versions of Ryan Long61 on this forum, we still wouldn't have enough people to successfully correct everyone's grammar on a regular basis. Just mentioning it in the chat is already too much 🤦

Jose Barrett said:I’d love to see a system where high-quality posts get rewarded with stars (not those five-pointed ones, though).

Thumbs up or Thumbs down

Abuse would be pretty easy to prevent.

Your ranking could only climb when you receive a thumbs up from a user who already holds at least two stars.

That way, clones couldn't just boost their own ratings.

Now, we all know there are users who write great stuff but are constantly picking fights and have an endless stack of red cards.
For them, a thumbs up should probably only come from moderators, admins, executives, or assistants.

Thanks for reading.

This isn't strictly about this forum, but Jubito has that feature where groups, clans, and friend circles can essentially inflate each other's reputation with random little comments. It’s not quite the same thing, I suppose, but it points toward what Jacob Foster11 mentioned below:
Jacob Foster11 said:Terrible idea. There is no way to ensure high-quality users actually get a high reputation while the low-quality ones stay low. You'll just end up with a clique of people hanging out in a chat room, artificially boosting each other's scores without contributing anything of value to the site. Meanwhile, an actual expert might only chime in on specific topics where they provide real insight, but because they aren't part of the chat group, they won't have a crew to inflate their reputation.

Agreed. It makes no sense, and honestly, it wouldn't be realistic anyway.

Honestly, $300 doesn't even scratch the surface. 😁 It’s like those little love notes moderators get tucked away—they might seem trivial, but they carry a certain sentimental weight that really starts to pile up over time.

Hey, fadedmarlin402, if 300 isn't enough for you, why not lighten the load? Just copy and paste them over to our moderator health thread so we have something to keep us entertained. 🍿

Anyway, the reason I hit 300 so quickly—almost recklessly, really—is because even 75 felt insufficient back before I stepped into this moderator role. I have quite a collection of messages... including my own replies. Good idea, actually; I think I'll go spend some time cleaning things up. 😍

Elizabeth Jackson64 said:... I honestly never wear one when I'm just hanging out at home—unless I know I’ll be heading out at some point during the day, so I might as well get ready in the morning... it's simply way more comfortable to just lounge in a t-shirt and maybe some sweatpants, especially since the people I live with won't necessarily notice you aren't wearing a bra, so there isn't that self-conscious feeling (if we're talking about personal discomfort), not to mention how much better it feels while watching TV, studying lying down, and things like that...

It's the exact same story for me, though I tend to keep a massive stash of those stretchy black camisoles at home; they are absolute lifesavers because you can't tell at all that you've ditched the bra under whatever else you're wearing. I should probably have mentioned earlier that I find bras completely unbearable right before my period starts. My chest gets so tender and swollen that a bra feels downright agonizing, and besides, nothing fits properly during that time, so I just rely on those camisoles—they really are the best solution. 🙂
🙂 You can't really judge anything based on that—how is he even supposed to know if things are back to normal if you don't actually know what you're dealing with or if it’s even cleared up? Besides, you mentioned yourself that you dealt with this in your previous relationship. Bacteria like *Gardnerella vaginalis* (which presents with very similar symptoms), microorganisms such as *Ureaplasma* and *Mycoplasma*, or even dangerous *Chlamydia* are incredibly sneaky; you aren't going to wipe them out with some herbal tea for "vaginal health" or anything like that—not 100%, anyway. Honestly, while you're currently dealing with this, you absolutely should be using a condom—not waiting until after—because otherwise, you're just passing it right back to him. If you do that, he could just as easily claim you're the one passing it to him, you know? Ideally, you should use a condom every single time, or at least until both of you are medically cleared. Plus, some infections can linger quite a while before they actually start showing symptoms here in the States, mostly because most of those little monsters down there are so subtle. But regardless, you have discharge with an unpleasant odor, which is basically a giant flashing neon sign telling you to see a gynecologist.

Just go to the gynecologist and explain exactly what’s bothering you. They'll take a swab—or maybe several—to identify exactly what's going on, and then you'll get actual medical treatment. You’ve been putting this off for way too long, and if you keep dragging your feet, you might end up dealing with something much more serious. As for that tea for vaginal health, I'm familiar with it; it’s decent enough for just soothing discomfort (I've used it myself) or perhaps while you're managing a yeast infection, but here is what it says:

How it works:
The tea for vaginal health is crafted by combining herbs traditionally used to reduce bacterial growth (sage), to promote urinary flushing (plantain and parsley), to combat mucosal inflammation (chamomile), and plants containing tannins (witch hazel and shepherd's purse). Mint is added to give the infusion a pleasant aroma.
This herbal infusion is not a substitute for recommended medical treatments!

It’s a great supplement to medical therapy, though.
HPV and condom effectiveness in Women's Health ·
Yes (Hybrid capture 2 - Digene)

Judging by my recent results—specifically the HPV testing and Pap smears (which I’ve had done several times now following my treatment)—I actually managed to clear it. I suppose I owe that to my gynecologist being incredibly thorough and utilizing a combination of different techniques. Cryotherapy combined with topical applications worked wonders for me. I did focus on supporting my immune system, though nothing too extreme; eventually, I just stepped back and let my immunity do its own thing, because I don't think you should constantly bombard your body with various supplements. It’s probably better to just let the immune system handle the heavy lifting on its own. 🙂

This might sound a bit strange, but in a way, I’m almost relieved that I was dealing with a high-risk strain. As much as high-risk is objectively more dangerous than low-risk, I am just glad I wasn't stuck dealing with genital warts—those can be such a nightmare to fully eradicate if there are many of them. A friend of mine sees the same doctor, and even though she only has low-risk strains (with the warts), her treatment process is taking significantly longer, especially since she has to deal with laser treatments. But, I suppose I hope that will eventually get the job done more effectively. 👍
It’s absolutely possible—and honestly, you could end up in this endless ping-pong cycle where you get cleared, but since he’s still carrying the infection, he just passes it right back to you. It’s an exhausting loop. I don't know if you were using protection in your previous relationship or this current one, but please, just make it a rule from here on out. Before that, though, you really ought to see a gynecologist to pinpoint the actual cause; some of these bacterial issues are nothing to mess around with. I'm also not sure what kind of herbal teas you've been sipping on, but in my experience, most of those just mask the symptoms rather than actually tackling the root of the problem.
Nicole Lee said:I have a question, so if anyone knows, please help me out! 🙄 I’m not sure if this discharge is normal—it seems white now. 🙂 A few days ago, it was clear, just like water, but now it’s turned white, though still watery, and there's an unpleasant smell... I’ve been drinking herbal teas, which helped for a bit, but then it came right back. I don't have any itching or pain, though. Is this some kind of inflammation? Should I see a gynecologist? And is there any chance this could be an STI from sex? Also, are there any feminine washes I can get without needing a doctor's visit first? Thanks! 🙂

That isn't white discharge. What you're describing sounds more like a characteristic of fungi—specifically Candida, which is a natural inhabitant of the body, though sometimes it decides to "go wild." Real white discharge from yeast is usually thick and clumpy, always white, maybe slightly yellowish depending on hygiene 😍, and it’s almost always accompanied by the classic symptoms: itching and burning. When you wipe after using the bathroom, you’ll see those actual little white bits.

What you have seems to be some sort of bacterial infection, and that unpleasant odor is a very strong indicator of that. To actually treat this (which would involve antibiotics and appropriate vaginal suppositories), you really need to see a gynecologist so they can figure out exactly what's going on first. Most likely, alongside the pelvic exam, they’ll take a swab to check for anaerobic and aerobic bacteria. Don't mess around with this, because those little bugs down there can be incredibly sneaky. There is really no point in just grabbing something over the counter to temporarily mask the symptoms. 🙂
