stormybadger8 said:Again, this is pointless. Why even bother with a penalty like that if they're guilty? And I emphasize "if," because looking at the footage, I'm not even sure they are—screw logic, it's about the rules. If we're assuming guilt, the only logical move is a black flag or disqualification. This whole mess is ridiculous; you disqualify someone for cheating, you don't just hand them their old position back (which is exactly what happened to Hamilton, he was put right back where he was before the controversy). Personally, I also think the penalty on Alonso for his jump start was totally inappropriate, and the FIA dragging its feet on it was just as bad. It was a blatant display of unsportsmanlike behavior.

At the end of the day, your favorite driver got screwed by a nonsense penalty just so Alonso could grab more points🙄 in some similar mess involving the SC and the rulebook, which is also completely absurd.

It’s funny how in every single one of these situations regarding penalties—whether issued, unissued, or just plain wrong—Alonso always seems to be right in the center of it.

Believe it or not, I don't think so. They'd probably be even angrier at Vettel for that than they are at Hamilton.

Honestly, the whole business with the SC and the medical car was a complete circus. Webber crashed on lap 8, and by lap 9, everyone passed him and saw he was standing outside the car, perfectly fine. Then, on lap 10, the SC and the medical car roll out.😕 I have no idea why that medical car even bothered coming out, it makes zero sense.🤷

Besides, I've been way too chill the last few days.
So, I definitely wouldn't be losing my mind.

If I were even slightly hyped up, then yeah...🤣
Then I would've gone absolutely ballistic right at the start of the race.🤣
Anyway, I'm not some hardcore fanatic. I'm mostly here for the trolling on the forum. Getting worked up over Vettel, Alonso, Hamilton, etc.—whatever. Think what you want, I've got much smarter things to do with my life than lose my cool being a fan for McLaren or Ferrari.🤣

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather Hamilton had lost a spot or two, just so Vettel could be closer to the lead in the standings.😉

The famous Singapore 2008—that was even worse, way worse than this. 😉
Nico Rosberg didn't just hold onto the 2nd place he started with; he jumped up nine spots from his starting position.
After pitting under the red lights—which is a blatant rule violation—he ended up in 2nd. That means he didn't just stay where he was, he actually finished better than before the whole mess happened.

So yeah, this isn't the first time, and it won't be the last. 🤣

If Hamilton hadn't slowed down Alonso, then Alonso and Massa would have overtaken SC just like he did. And if Alonso had passed Hamilton on track right after that, everyone would be singing praises about his "masterful driving" and all that nonsense.
The whole drama about overtaking SC would've been completely swept under the rug and probably wouldn't even be mentioned.
Don't blame Alonso because Hamilton overtook SC; blame him because he didn't leave enough room for Alonso to do it himself.

Nah, he’s actually losing it because Hamilton ended up right back where he started
as if Hamilton returning to that same spot matters to anyone else besides him... 😉

Scuderia Ferrari wasn't even on the racing line when Hamilton blew past them
man, it feels like they're still being split up by that damn white line

stormybadger8 said:Alonso and Massa are overtaking the silver Mercedes on track. Check out the footage at 0.24-0.42 😳

Anyway, I just watched the whole clip and reached a conclusion: they need at least a 25-second penalty 🤣

I’m calling for a 25-second penalty for Massa and a disqualification for Alonso because I've never seen anyone overtake the medical car under yellow flags before 🤣 🤣 😂

You can clearly see both of them overtaking the other silver Mercedes 😳

Sure, the first guy doesn't pass, but the second one is right behind him, which makes them both guilty 😬

Alonso: They conspired against us and rigged the results
He even overtook the medical car while there were yellow flags out

What stopped him from just staying with Hamilton and overtaking the Stake F1 Team? Just watch the replay. He almost got rear-ended by Felipe Massa. He braked because he was probably thinking, "I'll just complain now, Hamilton will take the hit, I'm in a Ferrari, and Ferrari pulls the strings." Well, it didn't work. Can't blame anyone but him.☕

It's not like this hasn't happened before; Hamilton isn't the first or the last guy to pull something like this. But the thing is, Alonso and Massa were right there—literally three meters away—and it's a massive waste that they didn't capitalize. It was the perfect Ferrari strategy:
Alonso overtakes the Stake F1 Team and stays out until the very end of the race.
Massa stays behind the Stake F1 Team and pits.

They could have both won, or at least one of them. Instead, they both walked away empty-handed.

I agree, Hamilton is a complete jerk. Between blaming Sebastian Vettel and whining about how "Vettel hit me,"🙂"🙄", it's exhausting. But the whole situation with the Stake F1 Team is just basic situational awareness. It's not like we're waiting for the FIA's decision; these calls happen all the time even after the race (just look at the rest of the teams). His move actually makes sense, plus he has a decent excuse since Vettel was ahead of the Stake F1 Team.

If Alonso hadn't messed up, Hamilton would have been properly screwed.😉
Hamilton honestly owes him a thank-you note for being such a coward. If Alonso hadn't flinched, the decision wouldn't have been handed down until after the race.🤣
That penalty would have been 25 seconds. I have no clue where Hamilton would have landed in that chaos, but he definitely wouldn't have been second. At best, maybe fifth or sixth.🤣 Besides, who's to say he wouldn't have collided with Vettel again or ended up crashing out with him? Sometimes keeping your mouth shut is the smarter play.😉

They might have even stripped him of his win after the race; God knows what kind of penalty he would've faced, but one thing is certain: he would've gotten punished.
It's not even impossible that he would've finished behind Alonso with zero points if Alonso had just stayed quiet.🤣

Sure, what happened at the end wasn't fair or honest. But then again, it wasn't "fair" when Alonso was at Ferrari while Kimi wasn't even in Formula 1. It wasn't "fair" when Jenson Button won the title with that semi-legal Brawn GP outfit. It wasn't "fair" when Michael Schumacher snatched several titles in a massively privileged Ferrari. It wasn't "fair" that Alonso even got back into Formula 1 after that mess at McLaren and the Nelson Piquet wall incident. Nothing is ever truly fair. That's just life. You can't expect everyone to follow the rules and play nice while others get away with being total bastards.

Hold on a second...
I mean, how on earth did he not pull that off... seriously...
So, Hamilton got penalized, right? But honestly, he ended up back exactly where he started in the standings anyway... so what's even the point? It’s like the refs or whoever else was involved didn't actually change a damn thing...
EU, June 25–27, "Miami street Circuit in Formula 1 ·
Give it a rest, Amanda Kelly, if the roles were reversed you'd be singing a totally different tune...

They shouldn't have even handed out a penalty in the first place...
The refs completely trashed the race and honestly there's no point crying about Hamilton now...
EU, June 25–27, "Miami street Circuit in Formula 1 ·
Hamilton really gave him a taste of his own medicine with that one

"I actually saw a Stake F1 Team car fly past him on the screens trackside," Hamilton taunts. "It’s not exactly common for some Stake F1 Team car to be overtaking him, so he must have been totally checked out in his own little world the whole time. But honestly, I still can't wrap my head around why that messed with his race so much."
EU, June 25–27, "Miami street Circuit in Formula 1 ·
unlike Alonso, at least Schumi wasn't such a little crybaby...😁

right? 😕

did Hamilton actually overtake the SC on the "track" or not... 😕

does anyone have the footage? 😕

Mom, seriously, tell Charlie that what he did was totally uncool and he needs to be penalized 😂

Man, I would have absolutely loved to see the look on his face when they told him Lewis Hamilton was right on his tail after the pit stops 😂
