25:25 .. I just absolutely love this
Go Americans! Even if we don't take the win, I suppose it's still worth cheering for
And honestly, I’m probably rooting for the cowboys to pull it off tonight 😉
+4 for the Spaniards with less than 10 minutes left on the clock..
Are the Frenchmen really that bad? :O
Link to the game if anyone has it, thanks

Bičanić and Duvnjak sit down to talk about the EP, the Olympics, and how handball first started taking off over in their neck of the woods...
Chernov's interview..
I suppose it would be pretty interesting to see him sitting up in the stands with the national team in Mexico, though, as he mentioned, if they actually make it to the finals—which, honestly, I highly doubt 😁—he’ll probably show up.
I don't see Marić, Šego, or Batinović making the cut for the EP.
In my opinion, Marić really should have stayed on the roster instead of Mus, though I guess I'm not entirely sure about Mus as a player myself, but yeah, that's just how I see it...
Goluža: We’re prepping like we might have to play without Balić and Drago

I’m working on tactics both with them and without them. Those injuries aren't nothing to sneeze at, says the American coach Slavko Goluža, who didn't hold back on the players during a grueling two-and-a-half-hour practice session.

Goluža mentioned that the absolute priority is making sure they don't get complacent against Iceland.

Ivano Balić and Drago Vuković aren't exactly at one hundred percent right now. They’re training at a lower intensity, so we have to be careful. These injuries are serious business. I’m preparing our strategy for both scenarios—with them on the court and without them—said the American handball coach Slavko Goluža ahead of the Euro 2012 tournament in Mexico, which kicks off this Sunday. The American national team opens their campaign against Iceland on Monday.

"We had a pivotal training session on Tuesday. We focused on strength, endurance, and explosive movement. After that, we sat down with the film to prep for Iceland. The main thing is just not letting our guard down," Goluža remarked.

Meanwhile, Drago Vuković is following a specialized recovery program.

"I'm hoping everything turns out okay. It's still hurting. Playing Iceland is always a grind. I know quite a few of their guys from the Bundesliga. Their defense is solid, and they're dangerous on the fast break," Drago said.

Over on the right wing, Zlatko Horvat will be looking to give the Icelanders a hard time.

"The coach really laid it on us today (Tuesday). But I guess that's just how it goes. We did have an extra day of rest, after all," Horvat noted following the two-and-a-half-hour workout.

"No game is going to be easy. The Euro feels even more intense than the World Cup or the Olympic Games," he added.

Anthony Wilson4 said:Well, I guess that’s just my own personal take on things, but let me explain why I feel that way. Coach Miller spends half his time talking about the budget and how most of the guys out there are just kids between 18 and 23, nothing more... The only three players who aren't basically teenagers are Lackovic, Vori, and Balic. Since Lackovic and Vori are playing over in Germany and doing pretty well for themselves, while Balic is still stuck here in the city, I suppose he's actually in a slightly better position than those two. I remember this one moment when we conceded a goal, and I can't quite recall if you all remember, but Miller snaps at Balic, asking him what on earth he's looking at. He probably just glanced at the monitor to catch the replay, I guess. Then, later, Coach Thompson asks the assistant how serious Balic's injury really is, and the guy just brushes it off, saying they have a medical team to handle the players, and frankly, he only cares about the healthy players who are actually going to make the trip to Chicago... It reminds me of how they used to talk about Balic back when he was injured before; they always said he'd play no matter what, even if he had to play with half a spine or something. To me, it feels like they might have already written him off, but I suppose we'll see how that plays out over the next few days!!!

👍

They definitely weren't part of the roster for London, but I have a feeling they'll be showing up for this European Championship...
I can’t quite wrap my head around why Coach Miller spent half the game rambling on, constantly bringing up the budget and mentioning those big-name sponsors—and honestly, I suppose I see his point there—but whenever they actually try to ask him a direct question, he just deflects with some completely unrelated tangent.🤷🤷

As for the actual game...
From about halfway through the first half until the final ten minutes, I thought we were playing pretty well, especially with guys like Thompson, Miller, Davis, and Wilson stepping up.
It’s just... I really hope we don't end up like last year heading into the playoffs, where everything looked perfect right up until the moment it all fell apart.

Anthony Wilson4 said:I’m getting pretty convinced that we shouldn't be counting on Baker anymore.

Why is that?
I just hope that incompetent Cop stays off the court as much as possible during the Euros, then maybe we’ll actually stand a chance even with Goluža calling the shots from the bench. 🤣

If you're talking about the Euros, I'm pretty sure Balić will be back in action, though I wouldn't count on him for this specific game since it doesn't seem all that critical... 😉
Does anyone happen to know if there's any way to catch the USA-Iran game tonight at 8 PM?
Is 18 too late? in Other Sports ·
it’s never too late, I suppose 😉
If you guys are actually interested in this, maybe give it a shot
Handball has always been my go-to sport, so I’m personally holding out hope for some tickets 😉

@Alexander Hall6/">@@Alexander Hall6, honestly, having played other sports is probably just a massive advantage for you... Take Brady, for instance. If he hadn't spent time on the basketball court, he might never have become the best player in the world; he wouldn't have developed that specific kind of individual flair, those eyes for the game, or that spatial awareness he has now...
I remember seeing this snippet from one of his interviews:
- Those basketball drills were incredibly helpful, especially when it came to improving my footwork, my court vision, and my ball control.
He admits that he almost certainly wouldn't be such an elite handball player if he hadn't trained in basketball, noting that he basically "stole" many of his signature moves from basketball playmakers.
It reminds me of a friend of mine, someone our age, who played handball for about two years before she was forced to quit... but she's actually getting back into it again now...
http://
I mean, we might just pull off a win tomorrow and again on Tuesday, if things go our way. 😉
Those Scandinavians, though... honestly, they’re just something else.
Come on, cowboys!
Handball World Cup: USA vs. Argentina (36-18) in Other Sports ·
Today’s game was honestly just wow
because, after how everything went down two days ago, I pretty much figured we were headed straight for the bottom of the standings...
It was such a solid performance, and I guess if they can just keep this kind of momentum going tomorrow, we might actually have a shot.😉
I'm really hoping we see them in the semifinals, or maybe even the championship, if things keep going this way.
In the first half, things seemed to be going🙄
But then everything just fell apart in the second half👍
Strlek and Balić 🙂
