FIBA World Cup - USA vs Iceland 34:33 in Other Sports ·
We should be walking over them, but honestly, anything can happen at this tournament... We aren't exactly stacked, so if we end up losing, Goluža + Kopljar = Balić is going to be the excuse everyone uses 😁
We always struggle against these guys because they play with that same lightning-fast pace you see from a Scandinavian team, so everything really just boils down to whether our defense can actually hold its own 🙂
I’d love to see us finish in 5th place, but looking at how we've played so far, even this is a massive win ...

If they can just hang in there for these next two and a half hours, we won't have to deal with the absolute embarrassment of playing in Sweden...
Gobac and Goluza seriously need to pack their bags and head home, and for heaven's sake, just leave Balić alone already...
As for the game itself, honestly, I'm over it; it's not even my main concern anymore because this is basically a golden opportunity for Poland to finally take us down once and for all....

Let Gole bring out a squad that’s actually going to represent the new America once we finally flush all that dead weight out of the national team, seriously, let's just send Ivano Balić, Lac, and Vori straight to the stands...
Let the kids run the show, so Gobac can finally see what real power looks like when Kopljar is leading the charge...

No matter how crazy this sounds, they’re totally gonna steamroll Poland... mostly because they know they completely blew it and sent everything straight down the drain...
They're honestly gonna get wrecked for this whole mess since they already embarrassed themselves so bad that nobody's even going to bother watching—basically everyone's just chilling in Aspen instead. 😁

Frank Turner72 said:Look, I’m gonna have to disagree with you there because honestly, judging by how they played today, that Argentine squad is a total joke. God only knows if they've ever actually given anyone a real run for their money.

Hey, that's your call, but you really shouldn't use today's game or yesterday's as a benchmark...
Our guys basically cruised through a match where there was zero suspense since we pulled away so fast, and the refs didn't even have a chance to mess with the outcome...
The first half felt just like that game against Australia, with the Argentines looking completely lost tactically...
By the second half, you could see they were finally putting some pressure on us... though obviously, it's tough to play serious ball when you're down a man with 13 players on the court...
They gave it a shot, but it just wasn't happening... at the end of the day, we're talking about a team that's just now discovering what handball is all about and starting to grow, whereas up until now, they've basically been just filling a slot in the World Cup like Australia did...

We finally started taking Argentina seriously and man, look at how that turned out... I bet there was a ton of arguing and back-and-forth in the locker room yesterday, but they eventually realized that the Cop isn't even getting on the court unless we're up by at least 13. 😁
We actually caught them off guard in the first half, and if you look at the numbers, a +5 lead in the second half is a pretty realistic reflection of how we played... It’s super obvious that these Argentine guys are a legit squad and didn't just stumble their way into the second round. Today was all about locking down on defense, while the offense basically just handled business, though the real secret sauce for the win was definitely that defensive grit combined with those fast breaks and the killer assists to Balić Buntić and Laco...
You haven't even seen what those Argentinians can do when Messi starts playing 😁

Man, this is gonna be a tough one to swallow because even back when we were at our absolute best and feeling ourselves, we still struggled against them... so maybe we should actually take them seriously today 😉

If we can't even take down Argentina, then honestly, we don't deserve to be in the semifinals at all!!
I mean, what's even the point of getting there if we can't handle a team like Argentina!

And then we can just put Irfan Smajlagić on the bench and starting from the next tournament, we'll be sweeping up every single gold medal out there!!

It would be awesome if he took over, but you'd definitely have to check with Gopac first to see if it's even an option.🤣

Yeah, I just don't have much faith that we'll actually pull off all three...
I was rewatching that game against the Danes... honestly, we didn't just lose, we straight up surrendered... looking back at that second half, those Danes didn't even play anything special or spectacular... when your goalie isn't making saves and the defense is nowhere to be found, I'm honestly shocked they didn't absolutely demolish us by ten or more... as for Mr. Slavko, the refs are the ones to blame, and Goluža isn't even worth the breath it takes to mention his name....
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but honestly? This tournament is already slipping through our fingers...
The mere fact that we're sitting here starting off with just one measly point means we basically need three straight wins, some incredibly subpar play from the Americans in their next three matchups—because let's face it, they aren't about to hand up first place on a silver platter—and a massive stroke of luck that we don't run into the French in the semifinals if we end up taking second in the group...

If we end up dropping a game to Argentina, the whole thing goes completely sideways because then we're stuck praying for nothing but mathematical miracles just to scrape into the next round in second place...
Here’s my take on how this is gonna go down: we’re definitely taking losses against Argentina and Poland, but we'll absolutely crush the Swedes 😁
