Pulled the hard drive and booted up—still nothing.
Tried pulling the RAM and rebooting too. Same result.
Plugged it into an external monitor. Total blackout.
Got an Asus K550—pretty sure it’s the K550JK model.
It’s over two years old now. Everything seemed fine until yesterday when I was just watching a series; then, boom, the laptop dies and won't turn back on.
When I try to power it up, the indicator lights show it's on. The battery light keeps cycling between green and orange, and the Caps Lock stays solid green.
When I hit the power button, the laptop stays quiet for about 15 seconds, then I hear the fans kick in, but it shuts itself off after a minute. The screen stays black the whole time.
If anyone knows what's going on here, let me know. It would be a huge help.
Clearly, you just aren't a fan of that genre 😵
Just bought a new one, but it won't actually launch. I don't get it.
update: swapped out the CMOS battery, laptop actually powered on for a bit. I was using it for maybe five minutes before it shut down and went right back to the same issue. Is it even possible for a CMOS battery to die in just five minutes?
Tried booting from the USB, but it's not working.
I'm stuck. Checked the hard drive, the RAM, and the motherboard. I can't even get past the initial boot screen on this laptop—it just freezes up immediately. Let's go pro with this one.
So, my HP Pavilion was working perfectly fine. One day I decide to raid, the laptop takes a beating, and now it just won't boot up at all. I can get into the BIOS, but I'm stuck on the screen that says "press ESC to enter BIOS" and I can't move past that point. Help me out here.
Anyone got hands-on experience with the VTX3D HD5770 1GB?
