what advice would you give someone who's 15 years old.

That’s not even advice, that's just a random observation.

Mayor said:Can you ever just say, "Hey, nice job, keep training, work on those moves and flips if that's what you want to do, just get better," or is that kind of talk just not in your vocabulary? 😁I'm not trying to insult you or anything, but you gotta realize that not everyone thinks the same way you do. 🙂

Nah, you didn't insult me, but I’d much rather just be straight with you and say, "Cut the crap, go back to basics, work on your strength, etc."

Why shouldn't he attempt a front flip if he hasn't mastered precisions yet, and why shouldn't he climb if he's slow at it?

So you're saying he won't do anything until he gets stronger?

Look, I’m not insulting anyone, I’m just calling it like I see it. You don't just start sprinting before you even know how to walk properly. You have to nail the fundamentals first before you try moving on to the advanced stuff. Also, you’re totally misreading what I said—I didn't say he shouldn't climb if he's slow, I said if he's slow, he shouldn't be scaling massive walls; he should stay low and actually practice his technique on lower obstacles 😉 . And to answer your last question, yeah, absolutely, I am not attempting things I'm not ready for.

David Jones18 said:Man, I’ve been grinding on this forum for like three years now—well, if you count my one-year hiatus, then maybe it’s only two, but let’s be real, we all know how that works lol. Anyway, I'm coming at you from around the Chicago area. 😁 Alright, I just dropped a new video on my YouTube channel, so if you guys can find a spare minute, go check it out. I’ve also got a bunch of other useful tutorials up there if you're looking to learn something specific... here's the link.
I honestly can't believe I'm even sitting here watching this garbage right now because it’s such a massive waste of my time, but here we are. This video is just proof that people have absolutely zero clue what they're talking about lately, and frankly, it’s getting exhausting to watch these half-baked takes get treated like gospel when anyone with half a brain cell can see how flawed the logic is from start to finish. It’s one of those things where you start watching thinking there might be a point, but then you realize it’s just a bunch of loud, uninformed noise designed to trigger people rather than actually say anything meaningful. I’ve seen better arguments written on a napkin at a diner in Chicago than what’s being presented here, and quite frankly, if this is the direction everyone's heading, we are all pretty much doomed to stay stuck in this cycle of misinformation.

Honestly, this was trash, just like everything else before it. It’s pretty obvious you haven't learned a single damn thing or even accepted the reality of where you're at. You're out here throwing salt everywhere, but you clearly have zero clue how to execute a controlled, precise jump. Even the footage was garbage—I don't know why you even bothered filming it like that, seriously. Look, either get your act together and stop wasting everyone's time if you aren't going to see any actual progress, or commit yourself to two, three, maybe even four years of relentless strength training, specifically focusing on your legs. Obviously, you need to condition your entire body, but your lower body looks incredibly weak right now, and your precision on jumps—which shouldn't even be an issue at this stage—is honestly pathetic.
It’s pretty obvious you’re struggling with those climbs, which means you seriously need to start working on your upper body strength—something that clearly isn't happening right now. If you can't handle the basics, you shouldn't even be attempting high walls in the first place. Then there's that SDC you put together from 1:00 to 1:04, which is just straight-up garbage because your landing is completely botched. And that flip? Absolute trash. This isn't even close to actual parkour or freerunning! Honestly, those gloves are just pathetic. 😁 It looks like you didn't learn a single damn thing, and honestly, it's like you completely ignored all the solid advice those veteran traceurs tried to give you. Don't go getting all sensitive on me about this, but I'm just telling it like it is. Peace.

Look, parkour is a legitimate skill, a discipline, a raw and natural way of moving 😉—it DOES NOT include acrobatics! 🙂 🧐 🙂. And in Washington, D.C. (as far as I know—I’m not even from there)—all you’ll find are local workshops if you want to learn the basics (I think some stuff happens in gyms, but most people train outdoors). As for those flips and tricks, you can pick those up at any decent gymnastics center. You just need someone to step in and show you HOW TO DO IT RIGHT. 🙂 😉

That is NOT parkour!🤦 🙂 :asshole:

Don't even sweat those idiots. You're training for yourself, not for some random crowd 🙂 I see people online claiming they do parkour just because they jump off massive heights or pull off flips—but let me tell you, that's NOT parkour! 🙂 Those guys jumping from rooftops straight onto the pavement and calling it parkour? They aren't practicing the discipline; they're just looking for the fastest way to snap their legs. Then you hear people say parkour is "hard"—as if gravity doesn't exist 😂. If we actually train properly—slowly, steadily, and with actual technique—you don't end up with those massive injuries. People who get seriously hurt basically just skipped the fundamentals 😉. And for the record, parkour has zero connection to gymnastics . 😉 Honestly, I don't even think parkour qualifies as art, because art implies there's something aesthetic about it, which isn't really the point here (art is more about those flashy, fancy, Hollywood-style tricks 😛); the goal is just to make sure your movements aren't sloppy and stay efficient. If you can't nail a specific vault or movement, don't just force it. Stop, take a breath, chill out, and move on to something else. Parkour demands serious willpower and grind. You have to start with the tiny things, building up gradually and safely. You've got to listen to your body instead of fighting it. It's a marriage of body and mind, strength and control. Control is everything in this game; you have to accurately judge what you can actually handle so you aren't taking stupid risks. You should be progressing based on your own limits , finding your own unique way to navigate obstacles. And look, there will ALWAYS be people who refuse to grasp things they simply DON'T UNDERSTAND. It sucks, but that's just how it is.

I see a lot of people out there claiming that Parkour is some kind of extreme sport, haha 😂, but let me be crystal clear: Parkour IS NOT A SPORT, because there are NO COMPETITIONS in Parkour !😉 🙂"We really shouldn't be blurring the lines between Parkour and Free Running. Free Running is a skill where you take elements from Parkour but then start throwing in all these random acrobatics and tricks. The whole point of Parkour is that every single movement has to be efficient, EFFECTIVE and useful, like if you were actually in an emergency situation. Any move that messes with your efficiency just isn't part of Parkour. (quoting Wikipedia here)
Look, imagine you're a paramedic. You show up to help someone who's been hurt, and there's this wall in front of you—it's not massive, maybe like 6 or 8 feet tall, but it's taller than you. What are you going to do? Are you going to sit there waiting for someone to bring a ladder while the patient bleeds out—or worse, dies in a serious case—or are you going to use Parkour knowledge (instinctively) to vault over that wall and get to them? You're definitely not going to scale that wall just to pull off a backflip. That's one example. Here's another: some psycho criminal is chasing you, trying to kill you (the reason doesn't even matter 🤣). You've got obstacles, fences, walls, and junk in your way, and you need to get past all of it as fast as possible to escape. Obviously, you aren't going to pull off flashy tricks or inefficient moves (because clearly, the criminal is going to stop and clap for your amazing form instead of chasing you—yeah right, as if—you can't seriously think that), you're just going to run and clear those obstacles as efficiently and quickly as possible while burning the least amount of energy. You aren't doing flips or acrobatics or anything else that's inefficient even if it's just some unnecessary jump from Parkour . So, yeah, I hope those examples make sense. Now hopefully you guys see the difference between Parkour and Free Running. In Free Running (and Tricking), you can have competitions, but in Parkour, you CANNOT. Free Running uses elements of Parkour, but adds this "flow" to make everything look pretty with flips and stunts. Just because something looks COOL (and slick 😁) doesn't mean it's good (healthy) (meaning EFFECTIVE in real-life situations). That's the main distinction between Parkour and Free Running (at least in my book 😉). And just to be clear: I am NOT downplaying Free Running (or Tricking)—I'm just TRYING TO EXPLAIN to everyone (and myself, honestly) WHAT Parkour actually is (and what it isn't 🙂). Go ahead and read the Wikipedia article on Parkour: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour Also, jumping between skyscrapers isn't Parkour, because it's much more efficient to just walk around the building than to take UNNECESSARY RISKS jumping between buildings. Parkour is practiced at ground level, maybe slightly higher, but certainly not at heights of 30, 50, or 80 feet 😂. Sorry if anyone took offense.😉 THANKS. And driftinggull33, major respect to you for spreading the true meaning of Parkour. I appreciate that.😉 Check this out: THIS IS PARKOUR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l833q8BY66M -Parkour Literally
