I mean, here comes a second person claiming this is basically the best festival in the country, or at least the best one we've seen in ages, just showering the whole thing in endless praise. I honestly don't get it, I really don't.
To me, it's nowhere near being the best. Not even close.

The Flaming Lips... I don't really listen to them, but okay, they aren't terrible, I guess. So there, let me throw in my own little bit of 😁

All things considered, it's a pretty solid lineup so far, and for the $83 I'm paying for a ticket, it seems like a decent enough investment...

But hey, that's just my take, and I totally get it if these bands or this whole vibe mean absolutely nothing to someone else... 🙂

I feel the same way; I’d rather head to a better festival in somewhere like Nashville or even fly out to Vegas or New Orleans instead.
But yeah, that's where we're at.

PS, is the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival really any better than, say, Lollapalooza or Coachella? Isn't it basically the same circuit?

Just look at this tour schedule—they’ve already sold out Wembley again, so they're adding a second night. They did the exact same thing with Stade de France, too; another show added because it's packed. I mean, just try to wrap your head around how many people that actually is. According to Wikipedia, Wembley holds about 75,000 seated spots plus another 15,000 standing, and then you've got 80,000 over in Paris. Honestly, I don't even have a comeback for that.

Regarding the topic at hand—it isn't even fair how T-Mobile US is releasing names one by one. Once ticket prices skyrocket to astronomical levels, maybe they'll actually release a full lineup. If they even bother.

Right now, the ticket for the festival is almost $133 the price of a ticket for something like the Coke Live festival where Muse is the main act. Comparing Muse to LCD Soundsystem? Seriously? The prices too?

Massive Attack, sure, but they just played. then some new punk kids. then some guys I've never even heard of. !!! they also played recently. no connection there.
last year for $83 I saw Moby. he's a legit name. I don't listen to Lily Allen, but whatever, she was "trending" back then. Kraftwerk—total legends. And Father John Misty—I mean, they played two years ago, but they were still good.

if I were to drop $100 for this, then factor in the trip to Washington, D.C. and back, insurance, drinks, and then dealing with everything else on a weekday... no. no. no. no.

whenever I think about it. on New Year's Eve, I head over to the Mall of America acting all important to buy a ticket. while I'm waiting in line, I'm scrolling through my phone and see on Facebook that those tickets sold out like thirty minutes ago. man, I really messed up there. hehe

So, this is straight from the official Massive Attack page. The headliners go on the T-Mobile stage. Massive Attack, LCD Soundsystem, and probably Billy Idol—even if they haven't explicitly stated it yet—are all likely part of that lineup.😁
