US Box Office hits in Movies ·
@Xeon cro

😂
If this movie doesn't shatter at least a few records, then we are truly lost when it comes to the American audience. 😠

I find it hard to believe that even "How the West Was Won..." didn't recoup its investment. IMDb says this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116739/ , and while I have no clue if that's accurate, if what you're saying is true (which it probably 😁), then we are looking at a total C A T A S T R O P H E!!
In my opinion, what we actually need is a low-budget production (under 100 $0.00—the lower, the better) that’s actually interesting. A horror flick, a comedy, or anything that genuinely captures the interest of the American public and would actually see a return on investment!

Regarding "Mother Asphalt," the only data available is that it drew 1,433 viewers over two weeks; beyond that, there's nothing... I'm not sure if it was only in theaters for two weeks or what?

I realize it isn't, but when I’m left without any actual data—and frankly, can't find any reliable sources to dig up enough info to calculate an exact price 😢
then that's just why it ended up looking the way it does 😁

Regarding that first point, I’m holding out hope that things will shift in that direction sooner rather than later. As for the second matter... I can tell you with absolute certainty that the change is already underway. 😁

It’s just a shame there isn't a single American film on this list. 👎

Look, I know the price point was different back then, but honestly, I don't have a clear grasp on what the old rates actually were, so I’m judging everything based on today's standards. 😁

It isn't just about needing more comedies; we need variety across every single genre. Though, if you ask me, the tide is finally starting to turn. 😁
For the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, you've got David Kapac submitting a horror flick titled ''Regional specialty'', Irena Škorić is bringing an erotic drama called ''7 Sex 7'', and Kušan is set to show ''Chicken and ghost'', among many others... we'll see if that list actually changes things. 🙂

Does anyone happen to know what the viewership numbers look like for Lavanderman?

ruggedjackal46 said:So, brightcobra, what’s the deal? You writing a script and you've hit a wall where it’s either going to be a total box office bomb or some sappy rom-com? 😁 I mean, what was your actual goal with this poll? Are you planning to just poll the public and then write whatever script you think American cinema "needs"?

I simply wanted to gauge whether there would actually be any interest, because without an audience, nothing succeeds. There wasn't any ulterior motive here.
