Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
When I set up the drive, I split it into two partitions: a 150 GB primary one for the OS and my essential apps, and the rest for... well, everything else 😁 . But now that the installation is finished, it's only picking up that 150 GB partition. The rest of the drive is just invisible 🤷

What does the Bible have to do with any of this?

There are countless different schools of psychotherapy out there, but if they want to be taken seriously, they have to pass specific vetting processes. They’re managed by professionals who follow strict regulations, which I think is a completely different ballgame than a religious group.

And what's the connection between how long a religion has existed and its validity? Over all those years, beliefs have constantly shifted as people searched for new answers. It isn't some unchanging, monolithic block...

Besides, for thousands of years, people believed gods controlled the rain or that humans were formed from anything and everything—from dust to corn. Does that mean we should still believe that stuff more than actual objective evidence?

If someone needs psychological help, they should just go to psychotherapy.

If they’re paying for any kind of expert advice—whether it's alternative methods or "orthodox" ones—they have every right to expect pure professionalism. If someone is charging people just to indoctrinate them into a cult, they’re a total idiot.

It’s undeniably faster when everything is toggled on—you know, images, Java, and all that. But once you turn those features off, there isn't much of a speed boost to speak of. The real win is that it feels way more stable and just doesn't crash at all.😳

Google Chrome works, thanks 😍

Even with turbo turned on and images disabled, it’s still dragging compared to Firefox, much to my chagrin 😁

I tweaked my Firefox settings so it shows the "connection reset" error as a pop-up message instead of a full blank webpage. At least now I can actually see whatever parts of the site managed to load before it died 😁

I'll try using Google Chrome to see if I can download anything, since this current connection is looking pretty sketchy 😁

My connection is crawling right now, and this forum isn't helping matters. Some subforums load just fine, but others keep erroring out—I’m having to refresh 20 or 30 times just to get in. Threads struggle to load once they hit a certain number of posts too; everything just breaks and throws an error, even with images and JavaScript disabled.

Maybe something optimized like Tapatalk would fix this, though I haven't been able to find a desktop version of a similar app specifically tailored for forums like this. Just my two cents.

I've tested this across several different browsers and the result is always the same. It seems to be isolated strictly to this site; I'm not running into any issues anywhere else, including other forums.🤷

And who exactly are you talking about here?

The cult leader.
What is Eckankar? in Spirituality ·
He basically just grabbed onto Rumi’s ideas, dodged any mention of his actual mentor, leaned hard into those astral fantasies, and started a cult. It’s useless.

You've gotta be kidding me. Don't you know that Babaji personally gave those folks a symbol for their diapers during a dream back at Sajbabin's ashram?

Anyone know anything about this? 🤷

A friend of mine was at the ashram back then, and he said they're just a bunch of idiots. 😁

Nobody can actually prove he exists. When there isn't a physical, verifiable legacy to point to, it becomes incredibly easy to play games. If someone claims to be a direct student of a guru you can actually go visit, it’s easy to check. But since Babaji is treated more like a legendary figure rather than someone anyone has actually laid eyes on—aside from those who claim they have, though nobody really knows for sure—it makes it far too simple to

1 - just make him up and use his name to gain credibility
2 - imagine something happened (a dream, a meditation experience, or maybe just a hallucination)

Even those old-school con artists selling fake charms and "miracle" powers used to claim their gifts came from Babaji, if I recall correctly...🤔

mantras, mudras, Yoga, meditation... it's all the same old story. And when someone claims they got it directly from Babaji—honestly, probably the most misused figure in modern Hindu sects—it just adds an instant layer of unearned credibility to the whole thing 🙂

Yeah, they just crank up the heat and call it a "new style" 😁

Great, yet another branded attempt to sell us warm water. It’s nothing special; everyone is just repackaging the same old stuff they’ve been doing forever. 🙄

Look, you've got to build a brand if you want to actually move more product. 😁

hollowtrucker77 said:Honestly, since we have the "General Discussion" subforums available, I don't really see the point in hanging around the astrology section just to chat.
I don't care for other forums, Facebook, parks, or whatever else. Not my scene.

It doesn't really have anything to do with that. I’m not looking to drag this debate over here; there’s already a thread for this over on the alternative boards. That specific chat wasn't even created within the main site—that was never the criteria used, nor is it the root of the issue. The other forums are relevant only because they're actually questioning what's truly driving this whole situation.

Nancy Peterson3 said:All my venting feels like a joke compared to how much Fish fails at moderating this place.

She definitely knows her way around an astrology chart, but she’s got zero authority in this field.
☕

You aren't being objective because of that ongoing feud between you two. I'm not entirely convinced Fish is right this time around, but otherwise, I’d say he puts out pretty solid work.

Another colleague right here from America confirms it 🤣 he and Ramdev are basically the jet-set gurus for the new American middle class 😁

This chat actually started because some spiritual seekers offered us a refuge after we were basically exiled from the mainstream spirituality circles during that big purge 😬

So, originally, there wasn't really a spot for astrology buffs. I’m not even that deep into the astro scene myself, so I just hang out there. As for her, I think she ended up joining this chat mostly because of that other forum.

Look, there’s no such thing as Yoga Journal. Neither their specific breathing techniques nor any other brands out there have actually introduced anything truly groundbreaking. It’s all stuff that’s been around forever. This whole mess—especially seeing how people try to claim ownership over basic movements, much like that Bikram guy trying to patent his style—is exactly why India is putting together a massive database. They want to catalog thousands of ancient practices from various texts so everyone can see where things actually originated and stop people from trying to reinvent the wheel.

Everything else is just clever marketing and profit-seeking.
