Adam Moore said:Best. Show. Ever.

Man, for me, it was so 🥱 intense that I think my brain actually checked out of reality about five minutes after the show ended...
And look, I love Lambchop, so I'm not just saying that...
Man, I was totally talking about getting some lamb chops at the AMC theater downtown...
I honestly can’t remember who skipped which show or what the deal was, but I totally missed Dirty Three—mostly because I haven't actually sat down and given them a real listen yet (my bad!)—but I did catch Lambchop live.
Pretty solid, right?😍
Look, give me a break. If I actually have to be the one to say it, you guys are acting way too much like indie snobs... you've totally lost the plot here.
I’m 100% on the same page as Adam Moore (hey, don't come for me🙂), but honestly, if any band I actually love showed up, I wouldn't care where they played... I'd just be stoked to be there.
Sure, it would be cooler if they were hitting venues like Madison Square Garden or the Fillmore, but I'd even take them playing at a local community center.☕
Just chill out.
Harold Wright54 said:Honestly, I don't think I'd want to see any of my favorite bands playing at Coachella.
Thanks!
🙂
Honestly, I wouldn't even complain if I had to sit through another show by The Hold Steady.☕
not quite, but it’ll happen🙂
He was totally bragging to me🙂
at the grocery store🙂
😬
Alright, so...
The lineup was solid—actually, pretty damn good.
Happy Mondays—meh, nothing special, but honestly just because they were actually playing well. I was kind of expecting total mayhem, chaos, a complete meltdown, maybe even Sean tripping over everything... I don't know, I guess I wanted a disaster.😬
SY—superb, but if you're asking if I fell on my ass and will be talking about this for years, the answer is no. I still think Kim Gordon should be taken out, but at least they realized she can't play and brought in a legit bassist who actually knows his stuff... If only they could just tape her mouth shut, man, then we'd really be talking...🙂
NYD—showed up, heard Janis Joplin, and called it a day.
The Hold Steady—the absolute highlight. It was the ultimate feel-good experience; the kind where even if I showed up feeling like absolute garbage, after seeing them, I’d want to take on the world. I haven't seen that much charm or genuine joy in what people do in a long time... Plus, the sound quality was top-notch... Honestly, I'd drop $67 just to see them again.🙏
!!!—total trash. Absolute garbage.
Iggy—I'm with Moose on this one. Every time you start thinking, "Eh, maybe it's not that great," you just remember when this stuff was recorded and how old they actually are. To be honest, I thought it would be way more intense, but it was actually just perfectly fine.
Kyle Jackson54 said:True, but if you book through Verizon and just pick it up at one of their service centers, that's not how it works.
I'm checking out the Verizon site right now, but I'm totally lost... where am I even supposed to look for this stuff?😬
Isn't the Ticketmaster $83 just incredible?
Who keeps deleting my posts? Seriously, what is up with that? 😈
Kevin Chavez3 said:Honestly, I’d rather sit through some old-school garage rock or a classic punk set for the tenth time than listen to Interpol.
🙂
Raymond Barrett12 said:Look, Lale, you're a true punk at heart—you just don't get what this younger crowd is all about... 😬
I'm not really a hardcore punk, nor am I part of that new generation, but man, I would happily catch Interpol again over any of those old classics.
Joshua Carter20 said:that performance even had the local Boy Scouts giving them the thumbs up..
Man, it’s just wild that the band is actually run by Šuškov’s son.🤮
They're literally the only band I ever hit the unfriend button on over on Facebook. :proud::whatever:
Karen Doyle2 said:Anyway, I just wanted to give you guys a massive shout-out—what we heard the other day sounded absolutely killer. 👍 I’m seriously stoked for everything to finally come together; fingers crossed the rest of this process stays smooth and easy.. 🙂
Thanks! Everything wrapped up perfectly on our end, no casualties reported 😬
only catch is, Dennis's twin didn't make it into the car yesterday when we were hauling gear, so he's still hanging out at the studio. I really hope it doesn't cause any headaches... I'll hit him up and check in...
[🙂 and Ntx is basically post-rock 🙂]
Kevin Chavez3 said:What’s the backup plan if we fry our own gear? 😳
We already fried one thing😈 😈 😈 🙂
That was just yesterday.
Today, the compressor went up in smoke.😬 🙂
Karen Doyle2 said:Your twin?? 🙂 Oh honey, you’ll be handing him right back tomorrow, just you wait! 🙂
😉
Exactly, exactly, you heard me loud and clear! 😬
Dennis is just the backup plan 😬
(By the way, the wife of that infamous American dictator—you know, that huge fan of the Ku Klux Klan—didn't actually say anything about her dislike for Daft Punk, so now that same KKK member is trying to distance himself from those comments)🥳
Nicholas Perez33 said:[gear talk]I was messing around with those D'Addario ProSteels—stainless steel, right?—and realized I actually need nickel. I used to run GHS Bass Boomers and the tone was spot on. Once I swap them out, everything should be back on track.[/gikčovanje]
Man, why even bother with ProSteels? Even the Nickelodeon ones feel plenty bright enough for me.😬
P.S. You hanging out in the States right now?
Swing by the studio tomorrow...
Here's the game plan:
Day 1 - Dialing in the tones + running some test takes.
Day 2 - Finalizing the sound + tracking 4 songs.👋
-----------------------------------------------------
Everything's moving along pretty smoothly so far.😬
Oh, by the way, we're tracking the guitar through two amps—running one through my Twin Peaks, and we borrowed a rig from 777 in New York City to get that drive.🙂
That drive is seriously killer.🙂
David Sullivan4 said:this guy recently compared that DJ Toljagino dude's drumming to Ministry in the latest episode:
Zero: they were basically these hard/heavy rock instrumentals with just tiny bits of vocals on a few tracks. They played them pretty solid; to me, they sounded most like those instrumentals from the last Deftones album where they were really messing around with different sounds
🙂
COG: The other band was COG, which sounds super mysterious—there’s gotta be some deep meaning behind that name. A buddy of mine gave me a heads-up that they were a post-rock band, and he was stoked to hear them.
🙂
Miles Davis: I have to admit, the band served as great background music while I was reading, though I was mostly just half-listening...
🙂
what a legend
where'd you even find this🙏 🙏🙏 🙏 😂😂
