Commuting to work by bike in Cycling ·
Hmm. I suppose I have been somewhat fortunate in my circumstances.
In truth, it is merely a five, 3.4 miles minute commute to the office.
There isn't any strict dress code enforced at my workplace, so I have found myself quite comfortable wearing khakis for quite some time now.
Once I arrive at the office, I simply splash some water on my face and consider the matter settled. (Though, I must admit, my trek to work isn't exactly a leisurely stroll. 😁)
It typically averages about ten to twelve minutes, though that fluctuates depending on the traffic lights—or rather, how many people are standing around waiting for them to change.
Well, that’s precisely where my anxiety kicks in. If this individual decides to screw me over by sending the wrong amount, is there any way at all for me to verify the transaction beforehand?
We are talking about a massive sum of money here—enough to make anyone's heart race if they're playing against the house like this. Dammit. 😢
Honestly, I am seriously considering just driving all the way from San Diego to New York just to handle this in person. I have this nagging feeling that meeting them face-to-face would save me a lot of sleepless nights and sheer frustration. -.-'
So, here is the situation. I have a package being shipped to me from another city via cash on delivery.
To clarify my understanding of the logistics: once the package arrives at my doorstep, I simply hand over the payment to the courier and the transaction is finalized, correct?
However, there is a specific point of contention I wish to address: am I legally permitted to inspect the contents of the parcel before the courier departs, just to verify that what is inside actually matches what the sender promised? If the items are not as described, can I simply refuse the delivery and send it right back to where it originated?
I am quite hesitant to proceed blindly, as we are talking about a rather significant sum of money here. =)
