I actually had my surgery about three months ago in Miami, and for my rehab, I went to KALOS Vela Luka over on Corfu. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about the whole Kalos team; everyone was just wonderful to us patients, absolutely top-notch. I'm 41, and they performed a total cementless prosthesis replacement on me. The surgery itself took place at Split Hospital right in the heart of the city, performed by Dr. Luetić. I’m just so incredibly grateful to everyone there—they were amazing both before and after the procedure. Thank God everything went smoothly, and I feel like I'm recovering really well. I guess there's really no need to travel halfway across the country when you have access to the best surgeons and staff right here at home. Best,
Yes, Kalos... A truly wonderful place for rehabilitation and recovery. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. I’ve been there several times—once for scoliosis and twice for knee issues, most recently in the summer of 1998. What can I say? It is beautiful. I carry many fond memories from my time there, and the therapy was highly effective. Most importantly, I made lifelong friends during my stay.
Hi everyone!
I actually really love my username. It carries some emotional weight for me; I didn't just pick it at random. I wouldn't want to change it, but it looks like I have to. A different user, Bradley Patel2, suddenly appeared on the forum, and worst of all, we both frequently post in the religion subforum. You can imagine how awkward that gets. I wouldn't be surprised if other members constantly mistake us for one another. Because of that, I’d like to kindly ask if you could change my nickname to Canadian Girl1983. I thought about suggesting others—something much more modern or catchy, like Rock 'n' Roll Cat or Queen Sword—but those don't seem to fit the rules. Regardless, I would want to properly notify the other members about the change, especially if they don't realize it's me right away. So, if it isn't too much trouble, please let me know what steps to take and exactly who I should contact. Thanks in advance!
I should start this thread while the memory is still fresh. My mother and I watched an incredible movie last night with that title. It really left an impression on us. There’s a reason for that.
The protagonist, Mr. Lazarescu, is a 63-year-old retiree living in an apartment with three cats somewhere in Washington, D.C. His only relatives are his sister Eva, who lives in another city with her husband, and his daughter, who married and moved to Canada. He struggles with alcohol issues and had surgery for an ulcer 14 years ago. One evening, he falls seriously ill and calls a neighbor for help. The neighbor calls 911. After some exams, it turns out he needs emergency surgery. He is immediately transferred to a better-equipped hospital, where we meet a wide array of incredibly realistic characters—doctors, nurses, EMTs, and other patients.
This brilliant film is a social drama. It serves as a protest against the unspeakable suffering of the elderly and the helpless, those whom society has stopped caring for. It specifically highlights the brutality of doctors who, in their arrogance, often lack any real empathy for their patients. The filmmaking is so high-quality and realistic that it's hard to tell if you're watching a feature film or a documentary. I wonder if anyone else has seen it? What were your impressions? If you haven't, you truly don't know what you're missing. You can always find it on DVD or search for it online. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Bradley Patel2, who gave you permission to vote? 😬
We are waiting for the first post to be edited, meaning waiting for faspyu to get that option enabled. ☕
😬
I didn't officially vote (how could I, given that Assassin isn't even on the top tier selection list?). I simply suggested he be added. Honestly, the list is far too narrow; there's hardly any choice. Only five people out of roughly 140 moderators? That's ridiculous. It would be better to just have open discussions about which moderators are doing a good job and which aren't—provided we stay civil, stick to arguments, and avoid insults or trolling—rather than relying on these "best" and "worst" lists. Also, this topic probably belongs in the general discussion forum rather than here. I agree the OP should have asked a moderator for help if they intended to run a poll but didn't know how. Regardless, it's clear there was no bad intent behind this. Please stop with these silly provocations and mocking him. Everyone makes mistakes.
Assassin is easily one of the best when it comes to Mobile technology. Whenever you ask a question, whether it’s public or via DM, he goes out of his way to give you a thorough answer. He doesn't just have deep expertise in mobile and digital tech; I think he genuinely fulfills his role perfectly. At least from my experience, I haven't seen him ban anyone without a legitimate reason. Even if you make a mistake, unlike some others, he won't attack you immediately. Instead, he tries to give you a friendly, unofficial heads-up. I also want to mention Veronica n from Religion, who is fantastic in every way. That topic is solid and serves a real purpose. I just hope it doesn't turn into something messy, because moderators are always a slippery slope, and it looks like some people are already starting to provoke the thread author 🤷.
Anyway, are we allowed to vote for the worst too? I definitely have a favorite candidate for that category.

- Obviously, those emojis up there feel playful when you're just joking around with friends.
- But they're clearly offensive when you're dealing with "enemies."
Nobody on this forum is a child; we all know how to tell if words or emojis are meant as a joke or an insult based on the context.
At the end of the day, it doesn't even matter what the "author intended" to say. What matters is how the person receiving the message felt. If they felt insulted, then it was an insult—period.
Saint Peter, just lock it up 😬!
I fully agree with everything you said👍(or didn't🤔... sorry, I didn't check your profile details😂)! I don't see any point in debating this either, but there are all kinds of people out there... 😂

A few impressions and potential ratings (based on contexts I've seen):
☕ is often used when someone is just trolling through topics—sending a message to provoke or being somewhat authoritarian, though less frequently; it can be quite irritating in that sense
🤦 is perhaps the greatest evil among emojis because it's so often (wrongly) used to automatically belittle or discredit an interlocutor—it's highly debatable in itself
😵 feels like an unnecessary display of disagreement, especially if the argument is already clear enough
🙂 directed at someone else, it's like a tiny death for dialogue; in certain contexts, it really doesn't require any further communication
🙂 this one is, unfortunately, a signature for some people, even though it can actually be quite charming
🙂 this one comes off as very arrogant, though maybe tolerable
🙂 is quite controversial, particularly among intellectuals of the opposite sex
I've mentioned some of these just in jest, since I've had my fair share of pleasant situations involving them. Determining whether an emoji-heavy post deserves a trip to the ban corner really depends on the overall meaning of the post regarding the topic at hand. I guess malice and the destruction of a discussion are usually visible through more data than just a single emoji. That said, jumping into a thread primarily with emoji-only posts is probably enough to qualify for a ban on its own. An Asshole emoji should, by rule, only be used in chat with someone you know well enough on the forum; that would be the easiest type to ban. The "gunshot" emojis we have here are actually quite benign, and they seem harder to misuse for actual vendettas against people with different opinions.
Man, all these emojis are just hilarious to me 😂! My friends and I on the forum use them constantly during discussions. No sane person would think to take them as a direct insult, since they are essentially very friendly 🤷. If someone perceives them differently, they are simply being oversensitive, plain and simple. Otherwise, I love emojis. I use them frequently in communication, depending on the context and the topic at hand!

Charlie Chaplin. I've never even heard that term before. We don't use expressions like that here in the USA, at least not as far as I know. 😂 😂 😂.

I know some mice are junk, but honestly,
I’ve been using my Goldman Sachs "Predator" for four years now. It’s easily the best mouse I’ve ever touched.
I’ve tried Logitech gaming mice costing over $80, and frankly, they didn't impress me.
Way too heavy. They slip right out of your hand during intense firefights. 😛
Mine cost me $83 along with my headset, and I'm completely satisfied.
It has 800 and 1200 DPI modes; I always stick to 800.
You only need high resolution for things like graphic design, and even then, you just set them to slow in Windows.
And what defines "junk"😁? Posts like this one.👍 Keep it up.
Exactly. It’s all about Intelligent design 👍. You hit the nail on the head. Do you follow Verizon 🙂? I pick up their tech news every month. It's solid stuff 😉. My old Genius lasted nearly eight and a half years. I hope this one holds up similarly. I have better things to spend my money on than constantly replacing mice. As for those enthusiasts obsessed with overpriced gear—if they want to blow their budget, fine. It’s just not something I can wrap my head around.
It is strange seeing so few visitors here. I honestly expected this topic to spark more interest among other users 🤷.
Nicole Baker said:Yes... since forever... and I'm a total novice at this whole thing...
It isn't quite to the point where I'm passing out or throwing up, though the pains are honestly quite sharp and intense. I wasn't taking four pills at once before, but since I've been dealing with this from the start—about four years now—the dosage seems to be creeping up while the effectiveness just fades away. I suppose it might be time to look into something else, hopefully something a bit less harsh on the system, which is why I decided to start this thread... my mother never really struggled with painful periods...
Interesting. My mother didn't have severe pain either 😳, yet during those days, I absolutely lose my mind, especially the first two 😠 😠 😠! Luckily, I use Ketoral; it almost always helps. I try to keep it to a minimum—maybe 2 or 3 capsules a month, sometimes 4 if things get critical. It doesn't seem excessive, just 50 mg. That's nothing compared to Neofen, which goes up to 200 mg 😲, but you still have to be careful. You never know when an addiction might set in.
Thanks for all the feedback 👍! Honestly, spending $800 on a mouse is pure insanity 😲—especially when it’s completely out of reach. No matter how sleek the design or how fast the sensor is, it just doesn't make sense. At that price point, you could grab a solid mid-range laptop or even two budget desktops. My own setup, including the processor and the Dell Monitor, cost me about 435 miles (roughly $933), and I couldn't be happier with it. It handles every single app and program I need for work without issue. But hey, people will spend money on anything... 🤷.
Jacob Foster11 said:It's not just about speed or precision. It isn't anything special in those departments. It has 1000dpi.
But other features make it great. First, it's wireless. Second, the battery life is incredible. One charge lasts three years. For comparison, a friend uses a wireless mouse and changes batteries every week. Third, the nano-receiver is excellent. The connection is solid. It works from several meters away. Two or three meters is certain; I haven't tested further. Fourth, and most important, is what they call "hyper-fast scrolling." Once you experience it, there is no going back to a standard mouse. It is brilliant. Also, it has eight buttons total.
That's great. I am happy for you. However, it is too expensive for me. I am satisfied with my recent purchase. I don't need extra buttons—the basic three (left, right, and scroll wheel ☕) are enough. I don't need it to work from several meters away either. If someone needs those features, they should go for it 👍. But I have a few questions and observations:
1) Recently, Verizon was advertising a laser gaming mouse in the American news (Roccat Kon, if I recall correctly) with 3500 dpi and 128 kilobytes of internal memory. I truly do not understand why a computer mouse needs internal memory 😕?! Perhaps to store applications and programs opened by clicking the mouse so they load faster next time (I read that L2 cache memory works on a similar principle)?
2) The battery situation is also unclear. Are these batteries reserved only for wireless mice, or for "standard" ones too 🤷? My manual doesn't mention anything regarding this 🤷.
3) They also showcased an exclusive Titanium Black mouse from some Dutch firm made of pure titanium. It looks beautiful in photos, but the price is, believe it or not, a full
EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS 😲 😲 😲!!!! oh Bog, who would actually buy that? Maybe only multi-millionaires like Bill Gates and his peers...
Oops, I thought your handle was Rabbit, but looking closer, it says Rebitt 😉...
I know what mice are used for (who do you think I am, for heaven's sake 😁). I've had a computer for over eight years and use one every single day. I just wanted to know the actual difference between optical and laser technology. I'm glad I got my answer. Please, carry on with your posts; I'm genuinely interested in reading your thoughts and experiences on the subject.
No problem, just keep the posts coming. I assume this interests more than just me, so we should aim to cater to the diverse needs and tastes of all our tech enthusiasts 😳... And my sincere thanks to zeko for the translation 👍!
Bryan Evans77 said:A girl bought a mouse for $17 and lost her mind when she saw the price was $67. And you’d try to sell her one for 450 from a local shop, plus she's Melissa Hernandez64 :P
Like I said before, I don't need a new mouse. I just bought one recently and I am very satisfied with it. I am simply looking to stay informed about new tech and devices currently on the market. As for that $150 😲 model, it is absolutely out of the question, even if it were made of solid gold or was the fastest, most precise device ever created. Regardless, thanks for all the previous replies. Moving on 😉 🙂... Anyone else have anything to add?
Yeah, some go as high as fifty bucks. I paid twelve for mine, plus a Harry Potter mousepad 3.1 miles. Since I'm really happy with it, I don't plan on switching it out—especially since I just picked it up last week 😁. Just asking to stay informed. I've always been pretty interested in computer tech 😍 😍.
My monitor is a Dell Monitor, nineteen inches—it's plenty when paired with the mouse I mentioned, and the picture quality is great. Thanks for the reply. Could you please translate this from English into American? Some of the terminology is unclear to me; I only understand about half of it. Some of us were taught German instead of English back in school... 😉 😁
Hi everyone, I have a question for you. I recently retired an old mechanical ball mouse. It served me well for nearly eight and a half years, but since it started acting up lately, I replaced it with a new optical model featuring a scroll wheel and an infrared sensor. It cost me exactly twelve dollars. Even though it’s a budget model, it is wonderful, fast, and precise. I am genuinely impressed. However, at the computer shop, I noticed other models that are four times more expensive—so-called high-end laser mice. I would like someone to explain the specific difference between optical and laser technology, if a meaningful difference even exists. Also, what does it mean when a mouse has a resolution of 800, 1800, or 3500 DPI? Does that refer to speed and precision, or something else entirely? I would appreciate it if a professional IT expert could answer this, but I also welcome any "regular folks" to share their thoughts and experiences. Thanks in advance. Best regards
